In the aftermath of X-Force's attack, the Archduke and Azazel are discussing what to do when the answer arrives...

"You're positive? No-one knows who any of these people are or who they're associated with?" The Archduke's tone was clipped and angry as he strode up the steps of the residence hall, Azazel following. As always, he was dressed impeccably in a tailor-made suit, shoes polished to a high shine, tie in a perfect Windsor knot. But his face... it was a horror of burned flesh and blistered skin, the Archduke's mutant powers having saved his life but also preventing any treatment. It would have to heal on its own.

Azazel shook his head, "Nothing, they just showed up at the party and," he gestured mutely to Holocaust's face. "They weren't invited and nobody remembers them or who they were introduced as. I have no idea how they knew about the party or us." Azazel's voice trailed off as he remembered all the memories overwhelming him. If that was the kind of opposition they were going to be facing then maybe it was time he thought about moving on. He'd been here for long enough.

The Archduke would have frowned - or maybe he did, it was impossible to tell. "Telepaths," he said at last, his tone contemptuous. "They must have had a telepath with them. Maybe more than one. They must have confused our memories of their arrival." He glanced at Azazel, noting the slightly twisted expression on his face. "We must stay together, Azazel. Stay strong. I rely on you, my right hand man. Are you still with me?"

"I agreed to come and help you as a favour my friend, we never planned to fight with psychics or have your face burned off. This is starting to spin out of control," Azazel informed the Archduke, "We aren't ready to face any of this yet."

Before the Archduke could think of a reassuring answer, the double doors flew open, bouncing off the walls with enough force to crack the wood, revealing the exact thing they weren't ready to face -- specifically an incredibly smug redhead and the leather clad team that had stepped back to give her room to work.

"Knock knock," Angel said brightly as she lowered her arms.

"Sorry to just drop in like this," Scott spoke up from his position behind the redhead, "We missed your party and thought we'd drop by to pay our respects to the host and take back our friends."

Kyle blinked at Scott - the older man didn't usually go for "quip", and then shrugged. If Scott was going to be the smart-mouthed one, and Angel was going to be gloaty-pants, he could stand there and look really angry. It helped that he was really really angry.

Holocaust looked at the group of leather-clad intruders. "Azazel," he began, but the red-skinned mutant interrupted him.

"No," Azazel shook his head sadly, "I'm sorry my friend but this is past out of hand, they're breaking down the doors and this is too far." as he finished the Red skinned mutant vanished in a cloud of smoke.

Scott nodded, "Don't let him get away," the X-man looked around at the rest of the group. "Split up and find the girls, Firestar and I can handle this guy,"

Clarice didn't exactly cut a menacing figure being barely of average height and carrying a medical pack on her back, though it wasn't the usual backpack laden with equipment she frequently had. They didn't know if this was a medical-specific rescue or not so she was quite happy to hang in the back. Of course, menacing or not, she was far from defenseless. She liked letting people underestimate her. "Have fun. I'm going down, down, down." With a blink, she was gone.

"I hate when she does that." Kyle muttered. He was off at a fast sprint before updating - even if he hated when Blink blinked out without warning, she had the right idea. In mid-run he called back via comms. "B's heading down so Ima head up. Stairwell not far from here, I can hear doors slamming."

"I can sense Laurie and Hope," Jean said after a few moments. It was a good sign. No telepathic interference this time. "They're in the building. But so are multiple hostiles. Be careful. I'll update as soon as I have a better idea of the girls' location."

Telepathy did not come with built in GPS, especially in a completely unfamiliar area. Though she sometimes overcame that by getting a 'map' from one of their opponents' minds. Now it was just a matter of finding one. She headed in that direction. For most people, heading away from the danger was the usual practice. For an X-Man, it was the opposite.

"Let's bring them home."
