The girls spend the weekend at Adrienne's place to distract Sue from Maddie's departure, and Molly takes it upon herself to teach Topaz about s'mores. Backdated to October 10.

The night was slightly chilly but the bonfire that the girls created on the beach was keeping Tandy warmer as she pulled her hoodie over her head. "Okay. Time for s'mores. Molly thanks for the idea." Reaching over to the bag and pulled out the marshmallows. "There should be sticks somewhere..."

"I saw some on the beach earlier. I'll get 'em!" Molly's voice had disappeared behind the three of them before they might've realized she'd gotten up. She was quick. She was trying to get quicker, and faster, like a little...quick person.

She came back a few moments later with four sticks of about the same size. "I hope the marshmallows don't taste like sand," Molly said, scrunching her nose.

"Woah. Welcome back Mols. And yes these will work nicely." Tan opened the marshmallows and smirked. "Sandy s' mores? Might be onto somethin."

Topaz was holding the Graham crackers, turning the box over in her hands. "So...how does this work again? You toast the marshmallows and the chocolate...won't that melt the chocolate?"

Sue nodded, "Exactly, well you toast the marshmallow and put it in the sandwich and then it melts the chocolate into a kinda awesome gooey mess," the blonde explained helpfully before pausing, "You know, those aren't really words you think you'd ever here. But trust is, it's amazing."

"Gooey mess is an accurate term." Tandy took out two marshmallows and passed them back to Molly. "Want to show her how it is done? Something tells me you are a master chef at s'mores."

Adjusting some imaginary suspenders, Molly grinned broadly."Totally!" she said, putting them on the sticks.

"So, first we put 'em on the stick. And then, we put em on the fire so they get all hot and melty," she said, showing her as she did it.

"But you don't wanna do it too hot cause it might fall off into the fire and then the fire would get some marshmallows and those are ours. Anyway...once the marshmallow gets brown...or burned if you wanna too. But mostly brown...then you get a plate that you got your chocolate and your graham cracker on..." She took the burned marshmallow off with her fingers without flinching, then paused. "Uh, it's gonna be hot so you might wanna do this with a fork...and then you put it on your chocolate and smush the top of your graham cracker on it."

Once she was finished showing and telling, she held it up like it were a prize, beaming brighter than the fire in front of them.

"And then...TA-DA! It's time for s'mores! And also napkins. Cause it's super messy."

Topaz had imitated Molly at first, spearing the marshmallow on the stick and holding it in the fire. But Molly was talking fast and she ended up getting distracted and leaving her marshmallow in a little too long -- the gooey treat went up in flames. "Oh hell!" She hissed, yanking it out and blowing on it until the flames died, leaving a black, slightly hardened shell in its wake. "Uh...anyone want theirs well done?"

"I will totally take that well burn marshmallow off your hands for this nicely toasted marshmallow." Tandy offered her stick for trading with Topaz.

"Sue, how you doing?" The blonde looked over at her better half.

Sue held up a marshmallow on a stick with a smile, "I'm about to create a delicious gooey mess, all is right with the world," she assured her friend as she pressed the marshmallow into the sandwich and took a bite. "You know they never show just how messy it is in the stories," she complained good naturedly.

"Messy s'mores are the best kinda s'mores t'me," Molly said, taking a bite that left her face completely covered in graham crackers, marshmallow, and chocolate

"Omrrrggud....so grd." She glanced to Topaz, wiping her mouth with the napkin she was talking about earlier.

"It'll be totally good, I promise. You uh....might wanna put a napkin in your lap, though. It breaks apart and stuff."

Topaz traded marshmallows with Tandy as she tried to figure out how to put everything together without dropping anything. She laughed as she watched Molly bite into her own. "Right," she muttered as she finally managed to squish the marshmallow down. "So..." She took a bite, and made a pained noise as the still-hot marshmallow burned the roof of her mouth. Yeah, she probably should have waited.

Sue blew on her smore to cool it down before taking a bit and grinning at Topaz, "Burning your mouth on the first too hot mouthful is like a rite of passage," she assured her friend, "Everyone does it, but it's so worth it." as she spoke she passed the British girl a bottle of water.

"It is true." Tandy said before taking a bite of her own s'more before continuing with a full mouth. "We all have burnt our tongues."

"Before I became unsquishable I did," Molly said thoughtfully, then offered Topaz a bottle of ice water. She wanted another s'more now!

Topaz made a mumbled, pained noise as she took the bottle, taking a long sip. She couldn't believe people did this for fun. Was there something wrong with her or the rest of the world. "Thanks Molly," she managed to say when she could finally speak. "This I'll just...let that cool down, then."

"Don't let it get too cold," Sue warned as she passed around another round of supplies. "It's best whit it's still hot and melty. If you let it get cold then it doesn't really taste as good."

"Cold S'mores is still pretty good." Tandy wiped her mouth as she went for a second marshmallow. "I think we should come here more often." Looking back at the large manor behind them. "Nice and quiet."

"Totally!" Molly chimed in.

"We can also do weenies! Like hot dogs."

Mainly she just liked cooking things on sticks. It was kinda fun.

Topaz dared to try another bite, finding it cool enough to eat this time without actually burning her taste buds off. With that threat gone it actually wasn't too bad.

"At least until the snow starts.Something like this seems significantly less fun when it's freezin'."

"Oh I don't know," Sue countered with a laugh, "We're sitting around an open fire, even if it starts snowing it should still stay pretty warm. Besides, the smores wouldn't be too hot to eat then."

"Well I guess there's a silver lining to freezing to death after all," Topaz commented dryly, finishing off her s'more.
