More X-Men fall as they battle with the Brotherhood.

Trigger warning: Graphic violence and death.

Scott twisted his head to the side, barely flinching as a psionic dagger flew past, just a hairs breath from his face. "See that's your problem," he told Unuscione as his voice took on the tone of the Danger room tutor, "You'll all fury and no finesse," as he spoke the X-man let out two optical blasts, one shattering the next dagger Unuscione had thrown and the next smashing into the armour over her chest staggering her backwards. "You're never actually going to hit me if you don't aim," he told the brotherhood member as the X-man twisted away from the next round of attacks, directing another force beam, through Unuscione's defenses to...miss.

"Big talk coming from someone who can't even hit their target," Unuscione crowed launching a handful of psionic projectiles at the X-man infront of her causing Scott to drop and roll out of the way a force beam spearing out and onto her armour as he moved.

"No," the X-man disagreed as Unuscione stumbled backwards just as the forcebeam which had 'missed' bounced backwards and struck the woman on the back of her knees, "I didn't". The dual forward and backwards impacts sent the Brotherhood member cartwheeling through the air till she collided with a nearby wall, the impact proving to much for her shields as she slid down the side of the wall and collapsed into a slump.

Scott picked himself up off the ground glancing around to check in on his teammates as his radio squawked, "Yeah Lorna what's up," Scott's eye's widened and he span around to face the blackbird, only to come face to face with Sabertooth's malicious smile as he stepped out of a portal followed by 3 others shapes.

Rogue was carefully flying with Kane, trying to dodge attacks when she felt herself get hit in the leg. It jolted her, and stung throughout her leg. Turning her head, she saw another blue flame come shooting for her head. Only by dropping suddenly did she miss it.

She couldn't maneuver much, not with Kane in her arms with a potential spinal injury, but she tried to speed up towards the Blackbird, Dragoness hot on her tail. The cat and mouse chase was quickly tiring her out, along with dodging the stings and trying to keep Kane from any further injury.

She soon saw a familiar head. "Blink! Get Dominion outta here! Blackbird, all the injured! I gotta deal wit' somethin'." She touched down as long as she dared to, leaving Kane with the younger woman, before she got up in the air, finally turning to face Dragoness.

"Better people than you have tried to knock me down today," she stated. "Y'all don't have a chance in hell."

Abandoning the mist lady, Clarice immediately ported away to get to Dominion and get him out, she was already triaging his injuries as they ported, "You stay down," she instructed as she snapped on gloves and began emergency prep work. "And don't argue!" she added, keeping her comm open so she could hear what was going on. This was bad. Very bad. All she could do was try to keep everyone alive long enough to get help....except she worried that there wasn't any cavalry coming.

Scott scrambled away from Sabertooth's claws before he rolled away from one of Kata's blast retaliating with one of his own, which sent the mutant stumbling back, the new arrivals had almost got him, to be honest they probably still would, he could only evade them for so long, and whenever he tried attacking one the other three just closed on him. It was the very definition of a lose lose situation, and guess what he was losing. Although it wasn't fast he noted snapping off a shot at Foxbat's feet sending the man skittering away . If he was going to go down then he was going to make the most of his swan song. "Everyone, pull back, we're outnumbered and overpowered, fall back to the Blackbird and keep them away, we need to regroup." Scott could barely make himself heard over the squawking from his radio...squawking from his radio? Scott stopped and turned around slowly to face Magneto, a Magneto who had finally raised his hand. "Oh damn," Scott threw his now useless radio to the side, "this is gonna suck." Scott's radio floated back past his face followed by a handful of screws and half a car.

The metals Magneto had levitated started whirling around Scott, a whirlwind of iron and doom swirling closer and closer to him. it was all Scott could do to punch an optical bast through the detritus only to have it bounce harmlessly off Magneto's shields. The Master of Magnetism's mouth curled up into a smirk as he clenched his fist and the floating metal surged inwards, shards of metal lashing out at him slicing his suit to ribbons. The last thing Scott saw was the rear end of a car dropping down onto his head and Magneto smirking behind it before a sharp pain and he knew no more.

Well the fight had been going well. Angel blasted Squid Lady, cursing when she disappeared again. Slippery little...

The thought trailed off when she saw Magneto take Scott down. "Damn it, damn it, damn it!" She hissed, taking off into the air - far out of Ms. Fingers' reach even if she decided to appear and continue their fight. "Cyclops is down!" She snapped into the comm as she sped over to the fallen man. First things first was to get him clear of Magneto, and then worry about the rest.

Blue flames engulfed her body and she swung her arms out, flames flying out toward Magneto. He blocked her attack, but it still had the desired effect - distracting him long enough for her to land and grab Scott. She groaned as she pulled him into the air - god he was heavy.

"Whoever's free for pick up, I could use a little help," she grunted into the comm. She only managed to get halfway to the Blackbird before she had to set Scott down again - better than dropping him - and she'd only just gotten him on the ground when a rough hand grabbed her by the ponytail, ripping her out of the air slamming her into the ground. She rolled onto her back, pain burning through her body, head spinning - and there was Sabertooth standing over her. One large foot came down on her leg, shattering the bones and effectively keeping her in place - not that she was going anywhere anyways - and he raised a clawed hand above her head, bringing it down. The trajectory - right for her neck.

Nononononononono...

Sabretooth's claws gleamed, first with the dim light coming from the castle, then with red droplets as he slashed Angel's throat.

BurningGirl! With a roar, the sabretoothed cat appeared in a lavender blur, putting herself between Sabretooth and Angel before he could swipe again. Snarling and snapping, she drove him back a couple paces to keep Angel out of his direct path. She stood protectively in front of her friend, going up on her hind legs to slash with teeth and front claws at Sabretooth, tail lashing angrily.

Sabretooth snarled back at the creature, having been denied his kill. He bulled forward, allowing her to dig her claws in deeply to his chest and sink her teeth in. He howled with the pain, but it didn't stop him. With Catseye's claws buried into him, she was stretched upright. His clawed hands, now beneath her, drove up with terrifying swiftness.

Before she could shift into small form to avoid the attack the claws were in her throat. She couldn't even finish her thought about him being too fast for her before her animal instincts told her the fight was over. Her eyes spun downward to make sure her teammate was out of Sabretooth's path before her ears registered the wet ripping sound and everything went black.

Creed ripped and tossed the viscera to one side, and the lifeless body to the other as he stormed forward, looking for a new victim.

Porting over, Clarice didn't go after Creed, he wasn't her concern right now. Her teammates were. Mouth pursed, she teleported them all to the Blackbird, "Catseye's down," she stated, shoving her emotions down and getting to work on Angel and Scott. Just because the blood came from friends and teammates didn't make it any worse, "Abort mission. I repeat: Abort mission."

Logan decked the latest cannon fodder to come running his way, laying him out flat with a single punch. They'd taken Summers down and who knew where the hell Kane was. This wasn't looking good. His head jerked up when the scent of fresh death permeated the air and he scanned the area quickly. What he saw made him roar and charge toward Creed. The bastard was his. He was going to make the asshole pay in pain. Death was too good for him.

Creed and him had a history but this was crossing the line. This wasn't right. All the shit the Brotherhood had done to them in the past...death had never been part of the deal. Whose bodies was he going to be looking at when this battle was over?

A blast of searing hot energy came out of nowhere and slammed Logan into the ground. He grunted as he hauled himself upright, legs still finding their strength and his skin still knitting itself back together, before he was blasted again by what felt like a cement truck. It sent him rolling until friction dragged him to a stop. Fuck the pain. He wasn't taking another hit while he was down on the ground. He staggered to his feet through sheer will and clawed the muck out of his eyes to see Katu, Sabretooth, Barrage, and Foxbat circling.

Oh fuck him. Creed dropped to all fours and barrelled at him. Logan charged at him with a yell while sinking deep into his primal mind. This wasn't a time for thinking. This was a time for surviving and he was going to be damned if these assholes didn't take some serious damage before they took him down.

They traded blows fast and furious, moving so fast that neither Katu or Barrage could get in a blow. Flapping came from overhead as Foxbat dropped in and sank bone spears into Logan's shoulders. He twisted and howled as he tried to dislodge him. He bodyslammed the ground, hearing bones snap and break, before he rolled and tried to strip Foxbat from him.

Katu and Barrage sent energy blasts from both sides, stilling the ferocious Wolverine and not caring about Foxbat being in the way. Creed sank a clawed hand into his stomach, twisted, and yanked. "You're done, Wolverine."

Pain, pain, pain was all he was registering. His healing factor was struggling, barely stitching skin back together before it was busted open again. It didn't stop Logan from slashing and clawing at everything within reach even as his claws retracted and extended reflexively from the all out assault. Foxbat pulled free, ripping through muscles and ligaments as he went, then sank his taloned hand into Logan's chest. "Think a Wolverine's heart would make a tasty treat?"

It was utter chaos, and the only way Rogue was able to cope was to stay focused and keep going forward.

Dodging Dragoness' stings wasn't as difficult as she thought it would be -- it seemed each was preceded by a bright blue flame, which gave her a little warning, albeit not much if the tingling of her legs was any indication. When she heard the comm message from Blink, (Catseye gone?), she gritted her teeth in a sudden burst of anger. How many casualties, how many losses were they going to have by the end of today?

Rogue had to get closer to her opponent -- she was no good against long-range attacks, and she knew it. Eventually, her stamina would wear down, and there was no way she'd get close enough to knock the living daylights out of her enemy. A glint on the battlefield caught her attention. A piece of discarded metal, perhaps from an earlier attack, was laying there, ripe for the picking. With a quick boost of speed, she headed there, followed momentarily by Dragoness, who seemed to realize Rogue was up to something. They both spied the object at the same time, and when Rogue flew down to get it, she was followed by a large flame.

Grabbing the metal, she rolled on the ground and put it up. It was a long shot, but it managed to work as a type of shield, deflecting the attack. It was enough that Rogue could finally take control in this fight. Back in the air, she pushed closer and closer, the stings becoming quicker, shorter and more desperate. Her fingers were aching and so numb she could barely feel the shield, but she ignored it all. When she was finally close enough, she threw the metal into Dragoness' face, and followed with a blow to the head, enough to unbalance her enemy.

Once on ground, it was easy enough to dispatch of her, Rogue not letting up until Dragoness was laying on the ground, motionless. It took all Rogue had not to kill the woman, but one thought kept going through her head -- X-Men don't kill. X-men don't kill.

"You're jus' lucky I'm a moral person," she spit at her unconscious enemy. Reaching for her comm, she spoke into it. "Dragoness down. I heard the abort call. Who needs help? We need to get outta here, an' fast."
