Sarah and Angelo spar, and taking him down is a little harder than Sarah expected. Sarah learns Angelo fights a lot like her, and Angelo learns that kicking a bone covered ankle hurts like a bitch. Sarah pins Angelo to the mat, making it really difficult for me to refrain from making a joke about giving him a bruise to remember her by.

Sarah's been warming up since her last class ended at three, enough that she's beginning to feel the fluidity she'd worked on earlier that morning, not to mention her shirt is beginning to stick to her in odd places. Her sweatpants are knotted tightly just below the bone forming on her hip, but there isn't any bone on her hands, yet.

Angelo arrives straight from his last class of the day (apart from a quick detour to his room to change), not yet warmed up but eager to begin as soon as possible - it's been far too long. He calls out a greeting as he walks through the gym doors.

Sarah gives the bag another kick, steadying it with her hand as she turns, an honest-to-god smile on her face. "Ready?"

"Should probably warm up a bit first", he says lightly. "Only just got out of class, an' I'm kind of out of practice anyway. But that won't take long."

"Yeah, probably." She lets go of the bag and stretches before going over to the wall to grab her water bottle. "How long's it been?"

Angelo frowns, trying to remember, as he begins to stretch. "Oh, God, months. I was plannin' to get back into it, before the fire, but it's been kinda impossible since then."

"I don't know if I could go months." She tugged on the rubberband in her hair, pulling back the hair that had fallen loose and putting it back up again. "In fact, I'd be pretty fucked if I didn't have a healing factor. I'm not sure what I'd do without not having to worry."

Angelo nodded. "Well, no healin' factor here, which was kinda the problem. I don't cut easy, but that doesn't mean I don't get hurt. Unfortunately."

"How easy?" She rubs her hands idly, bouncing just the slightest bit as she stands.

Angelo shrugs, winding up his stretching. "Not sure, really. Never tested it. I know I didn't have any cuts after that thing in town, just lotsa bruises an' stuff."

"Well I guess we'll find out. The bones are sharp."

Angelo stands up straight, grinning dangerously. "Well, I'm ready now. Bring it on."

Sarah nearly laughs, pulling a bone club from her upper back as she approaches him. She moves faster than he's probably expecting, taking a swing at his midsection.

Angelo almost manages to dodge in time for all that, feeling the bone snag in his shirt and tear it slightly before pulling free. Good thing it's not one of his favourites. He drops into a roll, the old moves coming back to him, and snaps out a hand to sweep at her ankle.

His hand grabbing at her ankle throws her balance, and she swats at his hand with the bone, backing away with a not-so-graceful scramble. "Not bad."

Angelo grins sharply, knowing that's quite a compliment coming from her. "Thanks." He keeps a watchful eye on her, tracking her movements.

Sarah goes at him again, a sort of feral smile tugging at the corners of her mouth. She swings the bone again, this time at his arm, her free hand grabbing another bone and going at his knees while he's busy doging the first blow.

Angelo, back in the swing of it now, somehow manages to dodge the first bone and avoid being kneecapped by the second, although his tracksuit pants aren't quite so lucky, tearing raggedly across the line of her swing.

Somewhere in the back of Sarah's mind, she protests that this should be easier-- that he's not sparred in months, and she's been taking on Logan and Marie and Selene and armed guards, and ah, fuck it. She drops her shoulder, ramming him backwards, and grabbing his wrist with a bone encrusted hand, kicks -out- his feet from under him.

Angelo lands heavily, and is momentarily winded. He lies on his back, trying to catch his breath, but still grinning.

Sarah grins, her hands making scraping noises as they come to rest on bone covered hips. "Oh good. I was starting to think I was loosing my touch."

Angelo raises a lazy eyebrow, letting her think she's won, then moves fast and without warning, lashing out with one ankle from his still-prone position in an attempt to take her feet out in turn.

His ankle hits solid bone armour which helps to buffer the blow and Angelo's only got long enough to curse before Sarah drops down and is sitting on top of him, with his hands pinned to the mat and her eyes glittering with laughter. "Nice try."

Angelo glares up at her for a moment, then lets his head drop to the mat, laughing. "Okay, you win."

Sarah doesn't move, instead she grins and says "So. What have we learned today? You fight dirty, and can't be trusted when you're down."

Angelo grins back, and answers, "Learned that a long time ago - fight t'the end, or you're dead. Might be dead anyway, but at least you'll go out fightin'."

"Heh. I like that." She finally stands up, cautiously offering Angelo a hand up.

Angelo is seriously tempted to do what she obviously thinks he will, but decides against it - his ribs and back are complaining, almost healed or not, and he simply takes her hand and lets her pull him to his feet.

Sarah regarded him for a moment, eyebrows raised curiously. And then she grins again. "Ready for round two?"

Angelo cracks his back, wincing slightly. "Could we say tomorrow, or sometime soon? My ribs aren't all the way healed, an' I don't wanna land myself in the medlab again for not givin' them a rest in between times."

"Yeah. That's probably smart." She pushes some hair back behind her ears, hands returning back to her hips. "Just stop by when you're ready. I'm here most afternoons."

Angelo grins. "You got yourself a deal."
