Julian makes Hope an interesting offer.

"Of course, this makes a whole lot of sense..." Hope frowned at her Comparative Goverment textbook as she occupied her favorite chair in the sun room. "Compare and contrast one aspect of the energy politics of Iran and Russia. Well, sir, the whole world just changed and I have literally no idea where to start."

Julian was sitting a short distance away scheduling meetings on his tablet and reviewing contracts, he looked up at Hope, then cautiously around to make sure she hadn't been overheard, "You're resourceful, Miss Abbot- it's not like you to be stuck." This was part of their one-on-one time, which each mentor was supposed to spend with their charge within Generation X- and given that Hope's abilities fell under the psi category, she was Julian's- he wondered if Angelica and Jessica were doing this too.

"I am sure I will in the end, but I rather wish to get my facts right. Let's just say I'd prefer not to tempt fate... and lower my grade." She added only a moment later. "But perhaps it would be best if I work upstairs in the suite... It's a little quieter up." Quickly gathering up her books, she rose from the chair. "If you'll excuse me, Mr. Keller..."

Julian sighed and made a little motion with his hand, the door to the sun room closed soundly and remained that way with a greenish glow around it- this was something they were supposed to be working on. "Quieter perhaps, but not more public...we talked about this Hope- you can't just shut yourself away in your room."

"A quiet place to study is far different from shutting myself away. Especially if I wish for people not to overhear me." Hope raised her eyebrow at him.

Her mentor looked around the sun porch, with its winter weather proofing in place, and a few space heaters, the room was toasty and otherwise abandoned. There were barely any sounds coming from outside either, save the howl of the wind against the windows. "Is there something you're worried I might overhear?"

Her second eyebrow joined the other one and Hope stared at him slightly incrediously. "I was thinking more about other people who could enter at any moment. There are some here from whom it would better... if... if they didn't overhear anything untoward?"And that was prety strong eupheism.

"Then don't bring anything untoward up," Julian chuckled and returned to his scheduling, trying to fit a forty minute presentation into an otherwise impossible week.

"I think I'd prefer the quiet room." Home returned a smile and tucked her books back in her bag, before swinging them on her back. Still seeing the faint green glow around the door, she eyed the man focused on his tablet.

Julian looked up at her after a beat of silence without any compassion, "You know, my office is on the fortieth floor of our building...and is sound proofed- you could study there if you want, but you know why I'm not letting you go back to your room."

"And how would I supposedly to be able to get to your office?" She would go along with this, for now...

"My car is in the garage, or if you prefer, we could call a limousine to take us, either way is fine, there's a car service at the office for upper management," Julian shrugged at her and looked back to his work with an exasperated sigh. "Again, you're resourceful, Hope- you can find a way if you really want to. Of course," he looked her in the eyes, "I don't think you really want to be around anyone at all right now."

"You are taking this far too literal here, Mr. Keller." Hope dropped on a seat, propping her hand up on a fist. Fine, if he wanted to play around. Would make a nice bit of distraction. "But if I have a choice, then I think I would prefer the limo. I mean, it sends far more of a message."

"That depends on what message you're trying to convey, would it not?" he smirked slightly, slotting the presentation in for Wednesday between two meetings in the same building. "A limo would indicate that you are someone of note, someone with power in my family's company...which you are not...yet."

"Yet?" Now they were getting somewhere...

"You have potential, Miss Abbot. For one thing, you don't seem to want to run off and join the X-Men, a quality I think shows great judgement." He set his tablet down, "Would you like to be somebody that goes to work in a limo every day?"

Having a feeling this was getting more serious, Hope eyed him with a serious look. Might be better to speak plainly then... "It would be a nice perk, sure, but that would absolutly be not the most important thing... What are trying to suggest here, Mr. Keller? Did you have something particular in mind?"

Julian mulled the thought over in his mind again, and again. Half of the boards he served on were made up of proxies, though none of them were as young as Hope- in fact, he often was the youngest person in the room, it would be a nice change. "Miss Abbot, I find myself in need of a personal assistant, I'm not sure if that would interest you- would it?"

"I think it depends on what exactly would be expected of me. If I remember correctly, you mainly aide your mother in coordinating the charitable functions of your father's company, right?" At his curious glance, she added: "I have been reading the business and society pages for a while."

"Is that what I'm supposed to be doing?" Julian sighed and rolled his eyes. "That was a bit of a change, but yes- I'm on the boards of three different non-profit organizations, and I'm serving as her representative for any projects we have based on the East Coast." After a brief pause he went on, "I'd have to check with human resources, but I could use an assistant at my meetings, someone to manage my schedules and social calendar."

"I think I could manage that. Also, I have some experience with planning charitable events as well, even if only in a junior role." After all, that would have been one of her big mainstays in the future her mother had planned for her. She had tried to prepare her well for that.

Julian pulled his tablet out and started drafting an email to his mother- feeling a bit junior himself for having to ask her for permission. "I'll have HR put together something on job responsibilities and what not- we'll probably have to have legal cross check it since you're a minor, but I can't see any problems with it. You're sure you'd like to do this?"

"Yes, as long as it does not causes trouble with my education, which is pretty sure a condition of my guardian would be. But otherwise then that it does seem an interesting challenge."
