Molly and Angelo: Christmas in April
Apr. 4th, 2015 05:59 pm Angelo comes to see Molly after she reintroduces herself on the journals.
Molly and Tandy had decided to be roommates together. The fun thing about a suite, though, was that they had separate rooms but the same living area. Sometimes she thought about asking if Ty wanted to stay in one of the other rooms. They were adults now, after all.
Her room didn't feel like her yet. But if it'd been exactly the same as she'd left it it wouldn't have felt that way either now.
She had spent her time browsing the internet, trying to get caught up on what was going on the last four months. M-Day seemed to take up a big chunk of it. The world was going crazy.
So after a couple of hours of daily reading she switched over to watching funny cat videos on youtube.
After the exchange on the journals, Angelo was true to his word, knocking at the door within minutes of posting his last comment - and already bracing to be tackled.
Molly glanced up at the sound of knocking. She grinned.
"I didn't order a pizza!" she shouted.
"Well, too bad", he called back, "'cause it knows how to pick locks and it's coming in anyway."
Molly's eyes widened at the mental image of sentient pizzas trying to break in. "Holy crap nightmares, Angelo!" she said, bouncing up to fling open the door.
Her smile was as bright as the spring sun outside her window as she boosted herself into Angelo's arms. Luckily she wasn't using her powers or he would've been knocked off his feet.
"Howdy partner!"
He laughed aloud, catching her.
"Well, look at you, Princess Powerful. You went and got all grown up on us."
Molly hugged him tightly for a few moments then finally let him go. "I know, right?" she said.
"I'm Bruiser now, though. Princess Powerful is too long."
She motioned behind her "You want to come in? It's kinda empty now but I'm gonna go buy some more stuff later. I was mostly focused on like...clothes. People are really nice to let me borrow their stuff but I want my own, y'know?"
"You'll always be Princess Powerful to me... except in the field, 'cause you do have a point." He nodded. "Yeah, I'd love to. I didn't bring pizza, but I do have snacks."
Molly stepped back to let him in. The room was as bare as she said, with only a bed, nightstand, dresser, and desk.
Her ears perked. "Snacks? What kind of snacks?" she said. She then smiled.
"And yeah I still like the name but since I'm older I figured my codename should reflect that."
"Enough snacks even to feed you," Angelo said, lifting the bag hanging from his arm. "Makes sense, and you need something you can call out quickly."
Molly shrugged. "Plus people would keep thinking I'm royalty and I'd have to stop them from like...trying to bow and stuff," she said. She closed her laptop, then put it over on the desk and hopped onto the bed.
"So...chocolate? Pie? Pancakes? Cheeseburgers? I am NOT picky. Okay, I am but...I'm sure it's all awesome." Asgard did not have a McDonalds.
"Pie and cheeseburgers are food, not snacks... but my boyfriend is an energy projector, my kitchen is always full." He offered the bag over. "Take your pick."
Grabbing the bag, Molly rifled around until her eyes lit up. "Pie and cheeseburgers can totally be snacks. Hello, Hostess pies? Ahhh...twinkies! Sweet!" she said. Ripping open the package, Molly took a bite of sponge cake. She chewed thoughtfully.
"I met Matty the other day. He's so old now! And a lawyer. That's awesome."
"Yeah", Angelo said, his smile turning a little crooked at the edges. "But he's not... he didn't go to Asgard. Has anybody told you about the thing we're not supposed to talk about?"
"Frankenberrycats, Artie calls them. Yeah. I got a list of people now so I don't mess up and think they're someone else," Molly said, tearing off a bit of twinkie so she could eat it slower.
"He hates them. Or he did. I think I helped a little. I hope I did."
"I don't think he hates them", he said quietly. "I think he hates the whole thing. In his head, he knows they didn't do anything, but... it hurts. At least you're still you."
"I know. But he thinks he does. I told him the same thing. Cause they're a reminder of the people we lost. But I'm not gonna judge Matty 2.0 for that," Molly said. She decided to skip slow and shoved the entire other twinkie in her mouth.
"Donfoo hava paree t'guh t'soon?" she said, wagging her eyebrows. She swallowed.
"Where's your costume? Oooh, can I see?"
"It's in my room." He grinned, amused. "And sure you can. Are you coming to the party?"
Molly made a face. "Nope. I'm not old enough STILL. Gotta be 21 and over. I drank mead all the time in Asgard. But eh," she said, shrugging.
"The students are gonna play board games here so I figured I'd do stuff with them."
Angelo considered this, raising his eyebrows.
"...if they're really going to play board games when most of their supervising adults are out of the house, they're all angels. But I'm not in any place to throw stones."
Molly snickered. "Oh yeah, they're probably gonna go nuts. But I'll try to keep them from blowing anything up. Hopefully. That ice dude worries me."
"...it's so weird hearing you being a responsible almost-adult."
"Psh. Except for the Batman thing I was roped into all that other stuff. It was totally not my fault. I'll have you know I was awesome," Molly pointed out.
"You know you're bringing me back something from the party for my trouble, right?"
"Count on it", he promised. "I might even see if they've got something in mead, just for you."
A bright grin crossed Molly's face. "Really? I was just thinking cake but that's even better," she said, hopping up off the bed.
"But...cake too, though. Cake and mead sound realllly good." She rubbed her hands together. Now, how to hide it from the younglings. Wow, she was not a youngling. Well, sort of.
"Can we see the costume now? Who are you gonna be? It's Disney, right? What about Jean-Phillippe? Is it a couple's costume?"
"Cake too, yes", Angelo said, laughing. "Yeah, let's go, and you can see when you get there. But there is a theme, and it is Disney."
Molly wrapped her arms around Angelo's waist, the bag of goodies dangling from her arm so she could bring it with them. "Hints?" she said, attempting to mosey toward the door while in that position.
"No hints!" he insisted, gleefully. "And how do you think we're going to walk like this?"
"Lame. You lost some cool points there. Even with the twinkies," Molly said, shaking her head regretfully.
"And we're just gonna have to take it very slowly. We might get there around Christmas. Cause I'm not gonna let you go, sorry."
"...you know what? I think I can live with that."
Molly grinned. "Alright, we better get started on the Christmas carols then. So that way we'll get in the Christmas spirit...." she said as they hobbled.
"Sure, why not. Christmas carols in April."
But after only a few feet down the hallway, Angelo had had enough, and without warning scooped Molly off her feet instead.
Letting out a squeal of surprise, Molly suddenly erupted into a series of giggles. "Hey! I can't not let you go if you're holding me!" she said, then shrugged.
"Oh well. This works too! Jiiiiingle bells, jingle bells...jingle all the way! Oh what fun I'm gonna see An-gel-oh's costume yay! Everybody now!"
Laughing out loud, Angelo joined in as loudly as he could, ignoring the surprised faces that appeared in doorways as they passed.
