The party had finally come to a close. All costumed party-goers had wandered out and the only people left were him and Marie. He was helping pick up while keeping an eye on tipsy Marie. They weren't that far from the mansion but well, it was a new world.

His vest coat hung loose and the scarf tie thing that he'd had to wear all night was shoved in a pocket. The getup had had him warm all night with so many people present and he was strongly reminded why he didn't like attending these things. "Got this end cleaned up. How you doin'?"

"Ah'm good," she called out cheerfully. Cleaners would come later for the floors and all, but Rogue didn't feel right‎ leaving such a huge mess for poor Harry and his staff. Besides, it was kind of nice, the peace and quiet after all that noise.

Turning towards Logan, she beamed widely. "Ah think it was pretty successful, huh, handsome?   Now's when Ah admit, this entire thing was an excuse to see you all dressed up." She gave an evil laugh. "You make one good lookin' prince, ya know that?"

"Not sure I qualify as prince material." Logan plucked at a piece of his wardrobe then let it fall back in place. "Can't say I like all the frills and ruffles but the material ain't bad."

He dumped the garbage bag in his hands on top of the pile of the rest of them. It wasn't excessive but a group of adults trying to celebrate away the events of the world ending still made a bit of a mess. "So that's why ya wanted this theme huh?"

"Nah," she admitted, placing her bag with the others, and wiping her hands with a napkin. "Ah though it'd be fun for Adri and everyone to jus' let loose. You know, everyone gets a happy ending in Disney especially princesses, an' Ah thought we all could use some fairy tale magic." She reached up to brush her hair and dislodged her tiara. "An' damnit all, this stupid crown. How do real princesses manage this?"

He chuckled and wiped his hands on the nearest tablecloth. They were going to get washed after this anyway. "It was a good idea. You did good. It let everyone forget and we all needed that." He moved over and reset the crown on her head. "There. It's back to how it was lookin' before. And I dunno. They probably don't hafta wear it as long as you did?"

This crush was ridiculous, she thought to herself, as she tried to just relax and not allow his closeness to affect her. But she'd had a few drinks, and everyone she'd talked to tonight had made some mention of her feelings. How was it everyone else saw it and he didn't?  "Probably not," she answered, "but Ah can't take it off yet. Then Ah become nothin'‎ else but Marie in a party dress." Looking up at him, she tried to catch his eyes. "You never told me if Ah looked good or not tonight."

"What are ya worried 'bout? You look gorgeous tonight." Logan still wasn't sure half the time why she wanted his opinion on something he probably wasn't qualified to have an opinion on. He met her eyes and smiled. "You did good and you look good. Just enjoy the feelin' while ya can. These moments don't come often."

Fuck it. They were alone, she had liquid courage in her, and damnit all, she couldn't keep chickening out. "Only one thing would make this perfect," she said.‎ Standing up on her toes, she leaned in a gave him a kiss. Three seconds was all she had before her powers started to tug, but it was enough for her.

In some ways he shouldn't be surprised, not after New Year's and after how she woke up in the medlab. But it still took him by surprise. This wasn't a good idea. All he had time to do was process before they were kissing. He kissed her back on instinct before he pulled back, before her powers activated, and gripped her arms. "Marie...?"

Was that a good Marie or a bad Marie? She couldn't tell the way her heart was pounding in her ears. Looking away, before she could break down and cry, she said, "It was jus' a kiss, Logan...."

He gently turned her face so she was looking at him. "Sweetheart, I just didn't want you wastin' a kiss like that on me." He pulled her close and wrapped her up in a tight hug.

"Ah can waste them on whoever Ah want," she said stubbornly, her face in his chest.

"A'right, just want you to be sure." Logan squeezed her again. "You ready to really get outta here then? You, Ms. Partyplanner, have earned yourself to have the rest of the night and all of tomorrow off."

She almost asked him what kind of question that way, but she'd probably pushed her luck for the ‎evening. "Sounds good to me. Thanks for helpin', sugah. Best get home afore Ah turn into a pumpkin."
