Alison needs to pay attention to where she's walking. At least she didn't break anything... this time.

Alison stared down at the phone Xavier had given her. It was sleek and modern and black, and was symbolic of everything new and different about her life. Xavier was quite the man. She didn't trust him. Not after... well. She'd deal with that in time. But still. Hard to believe everyone in the mansion was a mutant. She'd figured that there would be something about this place when Vimala pointed her this way, but this was beyond even her expectations.

She had calls to make. Anna wanted to know what happened just as soon as there was a result worth reporting. A position in the school, learning finer control over what she could do, was something worth reporting, she figured.

There was so much to do! She needed to go shopping for new clothes (and a new luggage set), explore the mansion, explore the surrounding area...

She was so caught up in her thoughts, working her way back to the temporary suite Mr. Taco had dropped her stuff off in, that she crashed right into something as she turned a corner. She bounced off, falling back on her butt.

Owie.... what had she walked into...?

Tandy had stopped walking as she was sending off a text. She was still trying to get her life back in order, being thought dead and coming back was not really fun. Feeling someone knocking into her, Tandy quickly turned to see a teenager on the ground.

"Are you alright?" She offered the other girl a hand. "I am sorry. I shouldn't had been standing right at the corner. Nothing broken right?"

Alison looked up at her. She was always doing that; looking up. It was the curse of the short girl.

The girl she'd run into was very pretty, Alison noted. Blonde hair, blue eyes...

"Yeah, I'm fine. I wasn't paying attention to where I was going either. Distracted, I guess. Just looking at my phone and... oh, no, the phone!"

The phone was fine. Xavier apparently built them tough.

"Sorry about bumping into you. I'm new; just got here a few hours ago. Isn't this place incredible?"

"It is fine. I have had my share of running into other people around these halls." Tandy looked at the phone and smirked. "I am sure the phone will live to see another day."

Tan looked back at her and tilted her head to the side, this was Alison Blaire. She recognized her, well she recognized the old her, this is what the young one looked like. "Well, welcome. It is. Lots of interesting art works. I am Tandy Bowen, resident of this fair mansion. I am going to assume you are the lovely Miss Alison Blaire. Love your latest single."

Blink and you'd miss it. For the slightest of split seconds, Alison's smile faltered. Her eyes lost that sparkling shine. All of the energy seemed to flow out of her body, from the tips of the strands of her hair down to he rubber of the soles of her shoes. And then, before you could even register it was there, it was gone.

"Yeah, thanks." Her smile didn't quite reach her eyes, and her voice lacked that subtle something. "It's one of my favorites I've done in a while. It's always nice—" she stumbled over the word 'nice' for the briefest of moments "to meet another fan."

At least she didn't call me Dazzler, Alison thought.

Tandy was a bigger fan of classic rock, but occasionally there was a song that would come unto the radio or someone would hum it and it would just catch on. "I am assuming you came here for a number of reasons and not to be fawned over. Did they give you the tour at least? Showed you the where the important things are? Like the kitchens and the common room?"

"Actually no... I just got the nickel run-around. A guy named Wade answered the door. He was nice, but didn't seem to have any idea what to do with me." The fact that he was a giant weirdo was thought, but left unsaid.

"Wade is a weirdo but he is a good guy." She smirked. "Come on, I'll show you around. Hungry?"

"Y–yeah, sure..." Another telepath? Were these people everywhere?? "So, uh... what do you do? I mean, like, in the whole 'abilities' department." Alison averted her eyes, just in case, staring just past Tandy's left ear.

"Seriously. Just don't bad mouth Bea Arthur around him." Tandy titled her head a bit as her right eye started to glow as the crescent moon started to appear. "I create light daggers. Kind of dangerous so I won't show you, but I also have the ability to heal people to their natural body state. I.E. if you are poisoned I can cure that for you. Or if you get too drunk or drugged."

Not a telepath, then. Apparently everyone just thought Mr. Taco was a weirdo. "Neat. Sounds dead useful. So... where was this kitchen?"

"It has its perks. This kitchens are this way." Tandy lead the way but kept pace with the younger one. "So what can you do? Promise I won't tell."

"Can you snap your fingers? Like, in a rhythm or something?"

"Right. Now..." and with each snap, a small ball of light flickered into existence for the shortest moment. Red. Purple. Green. Blue. Purple again. Over and over, every snap.

Alison couldn't help herself. Tandy had managed to find the perfect rhythm. She grinned. "She keeps Moët et Chandon, In her pretty cabinet..."

Tandy was a little surprised when a small ball of light came forth from her snaps. Once Alison started to sing, Tandy really got into the snaps as she knew the song that Alison was signing. Continuing down the hall and made a turn, the kitchen was just around the next corner.

"Let them eat cake, she says... Oh, look, we're here." Alison clamped down on her powers again, smiling brightly. "Nice place. Wow, it's really big."

"And here we are." She stopped snapping as they entered the kitchen. "There are two fridges. The pantry is usually full of the good stuff and I believe the freezer is in there. Ice cream galore. Open twenty four seven and you can come and go as you please." Tandy sighed. "I love food."

"Oh, man." Alison's voice was the most curious mixture of humor and fear. "24-7 ice cream? I may need to get out of here while I still can." Her manager would kill her if...

Actually, that didn't matter anymore, did it? Huh. New lives were strange.

Tandy couldn't help but laugh. "Don't worry. There will be plenty of things to help keep you in shape. I am sure that you will be joining the Gen-X, helping with powers, teamwork. They do a lot of exercise, then there is the pool, the gym, the stairs alone can be a work out."

"Gen-X?" Alison tilted her head to the side. She hadn't heard about a 'Gen-X' before. "And wow... that's a lot. Almost makes me wish this place had a dance studio. You'd be surprised how effective it is to practice routines to stay in shape."

"I think there is a resident here that does that. She is a dance instructor, Jennie." Tandy looked over at her and smiled. She had done a fair few plays in her past and knew exactly what she talking about. "So know that you see the kitchen, there is a back door that leads out to the patio. Sometimes there are BBQs out there. Come, I'll show you how to get to the pool, it is heated."

"Ooh!" Alison squealed. "Just like an onsen! Show me, show me!"

"Follow me." Tandy lead the way outside and across the deck. "There are a few ways to get in. There is one that leads into the building and the other from outside."

"So," Alison asked coyly "What else does this place have?" Heated Pool. Alison knew she was going to like it here

"There is a lake out back with a boat house that turned into an art studio. Broiler Beach in the basement. Common room filled with toys and a pool table. Anything and you name it. You won't go mad here."

"Judging from what I've already seen, I think you've got it backwards. We must all be mad, or else we wouldn't be here," Alison laughed.
