Tandy and Adrienne - Merger
Apr. 27th, 2015 02:36 pmTandy and Adrienne finalize a merger of Tandy's mother's fashion design company with Meridian Enterprises.
It was a little weird wearing a business suit but today was the day it was called for. MC Designs, her late mother's company, would soon merge into Meridian Enterprises. It was a decision that made the most sense for both companies. Tandy was in the board room in Meridian Enterprises with stacks of paper, there was going to be a meeting with the lawyers this afternoon and she wanted to make sure everything was in order.
"Come in." Tandy said when she heard a knock and in came the catering lady with the trays of Sushi. "Oh yeah food. Go ahead and put it on the other side of the table." She waited patiently for the food to be laid out and the woman retreated. "Adri food is here...." She announced loudly, even if Adri was in the same room.
"Sonofafuckingdickheadmother- that was total goddamned bullshit, ump! What the fuck is wrong with you?!" Adrienne screamed at her computer screen, completely oblivious to the caterer bringing the sushi in. "Huh?" Her head popped up and she squinted at Tandy. "What? Food? Sox are losing," she whined to Tandy, stabbing the display window closed on her screen.
"And here I thought you read an email or something." Tandy nodded towards the food. "How badly are they losing? Like they don't have a score? Or did the other team just get a homerun with two men on base?"
"Both. They're down by a lot. Now I will read an email," she grumbled, scanning a quick message from Rogue before setting her computer aside and rising from her seat at the head of the boardroom table so she could load up a plate with some sushi. She had to finish most of it before the lawyers showed up and she looked like she ate more than two pieces of food in a sitting. "Good call on the sushi," she nodded approvingly to Tandy as she stuffed two pieces of nigiri in her mouth. "So things are okay in Ohio since we left?"
"Don't worry. We can go for beers after this." Tandy smirked at her guardian. "You know, since I am of legal age now." Filling her plate with sushi, Tan walked back to the documents she was reviewing. She had her mouth stuffed with sushi when Adrienne asked her how was Ohio. She nodded and chewed, "It's fine. I brought back some things I felt I could sell. The house will need some cleaning but figured I could rent it out for an affordable price. I bet the neighbors would hate that."
"Definitely beers. And possibly poutine. Ooo! You should rent it out to a bunch of college kids who are in a band," Adrienne smirked, wolfing down more sushi. "It's good you have a plan for the house. Mmm, we should go check on your hotel soon, too. Maybe fit in a visit when I'm showing you the international offices this week."
"Sounds like a plan. I am sure college kids would enjoy it far more than it staying empty." Tandy took another bite from her sushi. "How are the renovations coming? I read the last email...maybe this summer?" She turned a paged in front of her. "I can't wait for it to be opened to the public."
"They're going well. Kane and I stopped in when we were in France last month. Don't worry, we didn't have sex on anything you'd disapprove of." She checked her watch to see how late the lawyers were and stuffed more sushi in her mouth. "The lamps you liked for the garden suites finally came in from Poland. You were right- they do look great with those Turkish rugs. Oh, and the labels for the new wine bottles for the vineyard arrived. So what are you gonna do now that you have two vineyards? Mash your stepfather's and the French one together?"
"I am sure you two won't be the last to have sex in that castle." Tandy pushed that image out of her head with a small shake. "I know my style. I tried to leave everything that is true to the castle, but it did need some updates and I don't trust people with some antiques." She finished the last sushi on her plate before getting up to get more. "My stepfather vineyard is family owned. The family is doing well and they have agreed to let me keep my portion of it. He did see me as his own daughter..." Tandy sighed. "The French one, will continue to do what it does best."
"Make enough wine for the guests and some local townsfolk while serving as a great tourist attraction in addition to the castle itself?" Adrienne suggested around a mouthful of sushi, finally dwindling the amount of it left on her plate to something she figured was acceptable for a former model and mega-bitch CEO. Her timing was advantageous as Rogue knocked on the boardroom door and showed the lawyers in just as she'd swallowed. "Thank you for coming, ladies and gentlemen," Adrienne nodded as she gestured for the lawyers to sit down.
Tandy quickly finished off her food as another knock came to the boardroom. They would have to have that conversation later. The blonde stood up and threw out her plate as she came back to sit down. "The paper work seems to be in proper order." Tan nodded to the stack of piles. "It is to both of our satisfaction." She said to the lawyers who already started to pull out the final paper work for them to sign. Just a few quick signatures and MC Designs would become merged into Meridian Enterprises.
"You sure you're cool with this?" Adrienne asked Tandy, flipping her pen around her fingers idly.
Tandy looked over at Adrienne and nodded, "MC Designs is going to a good place. Two fashion studios combined into one, it will be a force to be reckoned with."
"And everything's here in order to create for Ms. Bowen the position of Chief Media Officer?" Adrienne asked the lawyers, who nodded curtly in the affirmative. "Can I see the shareholder package, please?" The packet was passed towards her and Adrienne skimmed the broadsheet before passing it along to Tandy. "Welcome to Meridian stakeholderhood." She told Tandy with a nod. While in the former universe Adrienne had taken the company public, allowing stocks to be traded on the market, she wasn't ready to do the same with Meridian. It remained a private company, with Adrienne the majority shareholder and several department heads, satellite office principals and long-tenured employees all owning small percentages. With the incorporation of MC Designs, however, Tandy now owned the second-largest stake in Meridian.
Tandy took the package and opened it up, "Thank you Ms. Frost." Giving her guardian a wink. She might be the second-largest stake in the company but she did trust Adrienne's judgement and would back her up with whatever she needed. A piece of paper was put before her, all she had to do sign it. Picking up the pen, Tandy signed it and gave it back to the lawyer. No guilt what-so-ever.
Adrienne put her own signature on the necessary documents and listened to the lawyers go through their spiel. They observed the formalities, then the pleasantries (Adrienne had worked with them for a long time, after all, and having a good relationship with them was important to her.) Then the lawyers ate their sushi and departed with handshakes from Adrienne and Tandy, leaving the two alone in the boardroom.
"And that's how we both get significantly richer," Adrienne grinned, holding out her fist towards Tandy's.
It was over faster than she thought. She was still looking at the door as her fist touched Adri's, "Ba-la-la-la-la" She said as she wiggled her fingers away. "So, eat the rest of this sushi. See where my new desk is...then off to the bar for the rest of the day?"
Adrienne snorted at Tandy's sound affect and tousled her hair at the bar comment. "Yeah, you're gonna fit in great here. Our company motto is the same as the Federated Broadcasting Company from Desk Set, after all."
"Be on time, do your work, be down in the bar at 5:30. Got it." Tandy smirked at Adrienne and looked at her watch. "Well it is 3:30 now. Should we just call it a day?"
"Absolutely. Let's go celebrate. After we see where your new desk is, of course. But, spoiler alert," Adrienne told her, snagging a couple more pieces of sushi from the delivery tray and rising from her chair, "it's situated inside a really nice corner office."
"Yes." Tandy did an air bump. "Achievement unlocked: Corner Office." She put back on her heels and gathered up the paperwork. "Is it alright if I ask your assistant to bring these to my new office?" Tandy would have to get her own assistant, but she did want to take home the important paper work and put them somewhere safe.
Adrienne laughed. "My assistant? You mean Rogue? Yeah, of course. And then she'll probably ask you to save her a seat at the bar and order her first drink."
"Rogue, yes. I forget she is your assistant and not your accomplice. She can have the first two drinks on me." Tandy walked over to the door. "Does this mean we can carpool?"
"Well, she's kinda both," Adrienne admitted. "And yeah. Of course. Well, as much as people can carpool on bikes in the summer, I guess. Unless you wanna ride bitch all summer."
