Waking up next to someone was strange.

Even stranger when ‎it was in the middle of the day because they decided that napping was a good idea. They. As in they had a little too much to drink after a little too much sex and then had a little nap.

No biggie. Right?

Warren had no idea when he'd started becoming friends with Jessica but it was strangely disconcerting.

"Is this weird? Or am I weird for thinking it's weird?"

Jessica rolled over at the sound of Warren's voice. She stretched, unashamed at her nudity, and shook her head.
"Oh come on, Warren. It's not weird. Think of it like hanging out. Only with sex." She answered. "Really, really good sex." She stated, her voice distant as she flashed back to the debauchery that had happened only a few hours before. She reached over to the nightstand and took a sip of the wine before she attempted to pass the glass to Warren. "Want some? Still good." She asked.

He wrinkled his nose in disgust. "No thanks. It's been sitting there for too long. Besides, it's after five -- that means hard liquor can be drank." Warren reached over and slapped Jessica's ass before ‎getting to his feet.

Without bothering to cover himself, he walked over to his liquor cabinet and squinted at a few bottles before choosing a whiskey. "Hanging out with sex is fun.‎ As long as you know you won't make an honest man out of me."

Admiring the view, Jessica snorted.
"Warren, I don't think you'd be an honest man if you were a virgin." She answered. "Besides, I'm far worse than you. Pot, kettle." Jessica answered with a shrug. "You pouring one for me?" She asked sweetly.

Grinning, he did as he was asked before walking back to the bed. He handed her her drink and took a sip of his while he pondered what she said.

"Now, this may be crossing a fuck buddy line," he said cautiously, "but I have to ask -- why don't you have a boyfriend? You're much nicer than me,you're gorgeous and you're too young to be this jaded against relationships. I, on the other hand, was born with a silver spoon and a fork of contempt. I had no hope. But you...you seem normal enough."

Jessica shrugged.
"Nice of you to say so." She started. "I guess I'm just not interested in having one. I mean, I spend all my time at the office or the mansion mentoring the brats...I mean, the Gen X kids." Jessica answered. "Now, not to cross the aforementioned line but, I've been in places. Dark places. And I'm just not ready to devote myself fully to something like that again. Besides you know as well as I that the unattached life is fun." She finished with a sip. "And don't sell yourself too short, Warren. I mean, you really could make a woman happy. And not just with your money or good looks, though I gotta say those are some perks. Plus, don't they say that everyone loves an asshole?" She asked with a wink and a sip of her whiskey.

Only if there's adequate lube involved," he dead-panned. "And my money only goes so far."

Plus, he had no interest in putting someone else's needs before his. If it didn't suit him, he wasn't going to bother.

Jessica grinned.
"I haven't heard that one before." She offered. "And you're right. Money only goes so far. I call you and raise you your sex god status and superhero credentials." She continued.

"Now that," he said with a grin, "I can get behind.". Setting down his drink, he posed in a typical bodybuilder's pose‎ and flexed his muscles. "I am a pretty amazing specimen, not going to lie. How did you end up so lucky? I rarely do repeats."

"Because I'm, like you just admitted, gorgeous. And let's be honest. Which one of us would win in an arm wrestling match?" Jessica asked as she flexed her own arm with grin.

Warren stopped and wondered. "Good question. There's only one way to tell.".Bounding up, he grinned. "‎Best two out of three?"

"You're on." She answered as she got out of bed and followed Warren toward a table. She held up her hand and waited for him to take it, a mad grin on her face. "In a few minutes, it'll be important for you to remember that you asked for this." She warned.

Warren quirked an eyebrow but didn't say anything. Instead, he took her hand and gave a nod. On three, he gave. Light push, nothing too much but realized her arm didn't budge. At all.

‎With a slight frown, he gave more pressure only for more of the same to occur.

And then a lightbulb went off. "How am I supposed to be the man when your powers negate that? Look, my penis has even shrunk in shame."

"Don't worry, Warren. I know you're all man." Jessica teased as she patted Warren on the arm. "Besides, my strength DOES have its benefits, if you're interested in finding out." She added with a wink.

Warren continued frowning. "Am I really such a shitty person that we've been fucking for months and I never once asked you what your powers are?"‎.

He hated these strange self reflective moments. They ways came at such inopportune times.

Jessica shrugged.
"Hey, to be fair, I never asked what yours were. I mean, maybe your wings do other cool things besides just letting you fly." She pointed out. "If you really feel bad, I'll give you a full demonstration. You've got cars right? Rogue taught me how to juggle one, if you want to see." She continued with a small smile.

Now that got his attention. "You can juggle a car?" Standing up, he grinned. "Get your clothes on. I want to see what you can do. I know a junkyard we can head to and since it's Sunday, no one should be there."

He paused as he reached for a pair of pants. "Is that what you want to do? Or did you have other plans?"

Jessica was already halfway to her shirt and quickly pulled it on.
"You're on, but only if we fly. Race you!" She cried as she leaped over the bed to grab her pants.

"Wait, what?". Warren barely had a chance to agree before she seemed to be dressed and bounding out the door.

Shaking his head,he followed her to the roof of‎ his building. He'd never done this during the day but what was life if not adventurous?

The thin air never bothered him. Maybe his lungs were special? He'd never thought about his powers before. Just like Jess said, he had wings. That was it. But what if there was more?

Landing at the junkyard, he smiled at Jessica when she landed. "No one's here. Impress me."

Jessica marveled at Warren's wings. She'd never noticed just how fucking huge they were and, just how like an angel they made him seem.
"Seems like it's fitting when they called you Angel, Warren. Makes more sense than my code name." She stated as she waded through garbage and other metal bits and bobs toward a half crushed car body nearby. She reached down and, after taking a deep breath, easily hauled the metallic monstrosity out from under the remaining junk. With the object free, she leaned down and grabbed hold of it before pulling up, lifting the car from the ground with her incredible strength. She held the car for a few moments before she gave Warren a small wink and tossed the car up and away from her hands. It hurtled through the air before it swiftly came back down. Jess flew upwards, rocketing with her fists held forward. She smashed straight through the bottom of the car and emerged from the top, effectively tearing a rather large hole in the center of it. The car continued to hurtle toward the ground, but Jessica was quickly enough in her flight to grab it moments before it landed and gently lower it. "That good enough for you?" She asked.

Warren clapped slowly, appreciation clearly etched on.his face. "Impressive. How did you learn you could this?"

"My parents and I got caught in a truck pileup." Jessica answered, running a hand through her hair. "I guess I became invulnerable during the whole thing, because I was the only survivor. After that, I went to a group home. It fucking sucked. The other kids were little assholes. I ran away a lot and the police came after me. I was running from them and just kinda...flew. Sort of. I fell a few minutes later, landed on a dumpster and smashed it. It all just kinda progressed from there." She answered with a shrug. "So, I bet it's hard to ignore growing wings, but when did you buck up the courage to see if they actually worked?" She asked.

Um, the same year they grew," he said distractedly. Warren wasn't one to share personal.information, and yet it seemed to flow easily enough.

Yes, sleeping with a friend was much different than sleeping with a stranger.

"They grew while I was at school, and when I came home for the summer, I tested them out. I did a lot of research on birds, ‎figured out the logistics before attempting anything though. I had a lot of time to prepare. Did you say you're an orphan?"

"Research, huh?" She asked with a little smile. "And yeah. I spent some time in the group home before my parents adopted me. They were older and hadn't had any kids of their own. They knew kids my age didn't get adopted very often." She added.

‎Oh. So she was an orphan but she had parents. This was getting too much, and too personal. That could only mean one thing:

"I think you should get naked. All this exercise is making me restless."

Jessica merely began shucking her shirt and swiftly undid her bra. Without continuing, she made her way over to Warren.
"You sure know how to sweet talk a gal." She whispered with a wink before she began pulling at his clothes as well.

"You bring out the best in me," he answered, reaching out to put his hands on her hips. ‎"But this time, you're doing all the work.". He nipped at her neck and gave a smack to her ass. "I know how strong you are."
