Set during the group outing to the city on Sunday. After the movie, Bethany suavely maneuvers herself into some alone-time with Amanda. The gang agrees to meet up at Gino's Pizzaria in half an hour - plenty of time for the girls to be cute. Just some fluff - you know we're overdue.

Amanda did the bulk of the writing. Bill her for your insulin shots.

"So, what do we feel like doin' now?" Angelo asked
generally as the group left the movie theatre. "It's
still early, maybe we could get something to eat
before we head back?"

"Sounds like a plan," agreed Bethany. "Anyone object
violently to pizza?" No-one did, although Lorna
hesitated. Alex squeezed her hand, mouthing the word
'salad' at her, and she nodded, although still looking
a bit doubtful. "Great, we'll meet you at Gino's in
about half an hour?"

"'We' who? Where're you goin'?" Angelo asked, thrown
by the sudden shift.

"There's a music place I have to show to Amanda - they
have a really great punk collection," explained
Bethany. Amanda, despite being as surprised as Angelo,
didn't miss a beat.

"Yeah," she said. "Lots of really loud punk. I sort of
insisted."

"Well, we could..." Angelo started, but was
interrupted by Paige stepping on his foot.

"You two go ahead, and we'll see you later," she said
smoothly, taking Angelo's arm. Then, with a wicked
grin, she added: "Have fun!" And with that she
half-led, half-dragged Angelo with her towards the
pizza place, the rest following with various amused or
confused looks.

Amanda looked at Bethany. "There ain't no music place,
is there?" she asked, grinning. Bethany looked
shocked.

"Are you saying I made it up in a cunning but
oh-so-transparent attempt to get some time alone with
you? Little old innocent me?" At Amanda's nod, her
serious expression crumbled into laughter. "Well,
okay, the place _does_ exist, but it has maybe one
punk CD, and that's Blink182, which doesn't really
count."

"Yer a schemin' minx, that's what you are." Amanda
tucked her arm through Bethany's as they started
walking in the opposite direction. "So, you got me t'
yerself for a whole half hour. Anythin' specific you
wanted t' do with me?"

"I'm sure I'll think of something," replied Bethany,
with a wicked grin. "What were you doing, staring at
me like that in the movie?"

Amanda looked a little embarrassed. "I was cheatin',"
she admitted. When Bethany gave her a curious look,
she went on: "I was checkin' out yer aura, t' see if
you were interested or not."

"Checking out my... that's some kind of magic thing,
right?" There was no fear or upset in Bethany's
expression, only curiosity. Amanda nodded.

"'S a magic sight, I s'pose you could call it. Lets me
see yer energy, an' some of yer emotions. I don't do
it all that much, since it takes concentration, but I
wanted t' know." Amanda gave the other girl a wry
half-smile.

"And me 'accidentally' brushing your hand in the
popcorn tub every two seconds wasn't a hint?" Bethany
said, laughing. "Okay, so what does my aura say? Am I
interested?"

"You don't know?" Amanda took on Bethany's teasing
tone. "Well, lessee, yer energy's really strong, which
means yer pretty centred, pretty at home with yerself
an' where yer goin'. Lots of good strong colours, so
yer pretty definite 'bout things. Oh, an' with yer
reaction t' what was goin' on in the popcorn, I'm
pretty sure you wouldn't mind overmuch if I did
this..." Amanda came to a stop, her hold on Bethany's
arm pulling the other girl up short. Stepping in
close, Amanda cupped Bethany's face with one hand and
pulled her in for a brief, soft kiss. "Am I right?"
she asked when she pulled back, stroking Bethany's
cheekbone with her thumb.

"Mmmhm," Bethany replied in a dreamy-sounding murmur,
lips twitching upwards into a smile as she lifted a
hand to gently cover the one at her cheek. "Extremely
right. Especially on that last one, that was spot on."
She paused briefly, and then, her wicked smile was
back, even if the way she was tilting her head catlike
into Amanda's thumb probably made 'wicked' more 'cute'
than she'd intended. "I think this sight've yours
bears a little more investigation. Just t'make sure
it's working right."

Amanda made a thoughtful noise, grinning and giving
Bethany's cheek one last brush of fingertips before
reclaiming the other girl's arm. "That code for
'quick, let's go find someplace t' snog 'til we need t'
be at Gino's'?"

"Not very good code, but I find it adequate," Bethany
smiled, resting her head against Amanda's shoulder for
a moment before straightening and beginning to lead
the way. "C'mon. There's a bookstore a few doors down.
Lots of dark and secluded corners."
