"Worthington, you still alive?" Sue juggled the two large paper bags of supplies she was loaded down with and kicked the door closed behind her. It would have been so much easier if she could have had the doorman bring up the supplies, but she had no idea what kind of state Warren was in, Jolene's message had made it sound like he had turned into a recluse. And she didn't want to get him into any more trouble.

Rolling over in bed, ‎he opened an eye and groaned at the display on his clock. "It's too early to be alive," he called out.

Was Luz even there? Or did he give her time off? He couldn't remember. Getting out of bed, he reached for his silk bath robe and wrapped it around himself.

Walking out to greet her, he gave her a curious look. "What are you doing here, Sue? I thought you were mad at me."

"Oh I am," the young woman assured him, " livid. But you haven't been to work and Jolene was getting a little worried so she asked me to check in on you...
andIwaskindamaybeworriedaboutoyutoo" she told him in a rush. "I mean left to your own devices who knows if you'll eat properly or shave or you know, be able to take care of yourself," she justified her visit...mainly to herself if she was being honest.

Jolene. Warren frowned. What was she playing at? "Well, sorry to say, Sunshine, but Jolene tricked you. She knows full well that I'm working from home for the next while. I make random office visits, but I've been squirreled away here, trying to build the company up again."

He gave her a soft smile though, recognizing that he appreciated her effort. ‎"Please tell me you have flour in that bag. I've baked so much, I've run out of essentials."

Sue crossed her arms and stared at Warren, "I thought you were trying to build the company up, not perfecting your baking." she pointed out. "I thought it was odd that Jolene dded 3 types of flour, yeast and baking soda to the shopping list..." she sighed and gave Warren a helpless look, "I've been played haven't I?"

Warren chuckled and reached to pull Sue into a hug. Resting his chin on the top of her head,he folded his wings around them. "You have but I appreciate the effort. Thank you for coming. And caring," he added after a moment. He didn't think anyone would notice his hibernation. This wasn't the first time this had happened, but this WAS the first time someone had checked on him.
"Now tell me, is it that bad at the Mansion? Have effigy been built and burnt?"

The edges of Sue's mouth pulled up into the ghost of a smile, "you make it sound like they're an angry mob or british or something," she pointed out, "Sorry to break it to you Pegasus but I don't think many people have noticed or even have any idea what happened." the blonde slipped her arms around Warren hugging him back, "I'm glad you're okish, but I'm still mad at you for using me like that and then getting yourself and your friends hurt."

There was that ‎twinge he was starting to recognize as 'feelings'. "I didn't mean to use you," Warren confessed. "In fact, I didn't even know I had, but I'll try to be aware of it in the future.". He pulled away slightly and tilted her head up with his hand, looking right in her eyes. "I'm sorry. I really am. You're one of the last people I want to hurt. And trust me," he added, "there's a list. You're not on it."

"Okay, firstly, the fact that you actually have a list worries me. You can't have that many enemies, I mean apart from whoever beat you up, all the people at the office who want to beat you up and..." the young woman gave Warren a wry look, "you really know how to annoy people don't you?" She sighed, "I know you didn't mean to hurt or use any of us but asking for information and then using it to get yourself in trouble without coming to us really worried and hurt us. You know that whole all for one and one for all thing going on. You can't have it whenever you want apparently, when you're in a team you're supposed to trust them." Sue gave him a shrug, being part of a team wasn't entirely something that came naturally to her, and she certainly hadn't told them about her past, god knows how a team of detectives would react to that. "Although," the blonde freed one hand to poke Warren in the chest, "Only one of the last people you wouldn't wanna hurt?" she asked in mock outrage as she narrowed her eyes.

"Top five, I promise," he grinned and hugged her once more. Stepping back, he walked over to the bags that she'd deposited on the island, and started to go through them. "This whole team thing is new to me." Warren busied himself with unloading the bags and mentally catalouging what she had brought. "You know, I've never really had friends before," he continued, matter-of-factly. "Acquaintances, sure. Colleagues, absolutely. But friends? It's a weird concept for me to grasp still."

"What seriously? You've never had friends before?" Sue pulled herself up onto the counter top next to the bags Warren was unloading and helped herself to one of the cookies that were lying in a bowl on the countertop. "You must have had someone growing up people from school or kids of your parent's friends. Your parents did have friends didn't they?"

Warren thought for a moment. "Maybe we have different definition of friends . My parents have lots of friends, but they're more people they get something from. If there's no benefits, then why would we bother with them?" He paused. "And by benefits, I mean usually monetary gains. Feelings are not encouraged in the Worthington household."

Sue stared down at her feet, "That sounds," she turned to face Warren, "Well horrible to be honest. It's a wonder you turned out as...umm sane as you are. I mean my dad was absent more often then not but at least I never doubted that he loved me, and I had Julian and Norman growing up." The young woman slipped an arm around Warren's neck and rested her head on his shoulder, "at least you have friends now. And a chance at a new family? You know I'd totally adopt you if you wanted."

Warren gave a hearty laugh as he pulled her closer to him. "Shouldn't you be the adoptee? I am older than you." And since he saw she was a bit pained by his words, he tried to lighten the mood. "Besides, I have more money. If you're not married in 10 years and Felicia's mother hasn't somehow ambushed me into marrying her daughter, I'm all yours. You can even pretend you tamed me."

Sue considered the offer, "I guess I could do worse," she allowed with a mischievous grin, "Although, who knows if you'll still be a catch by then? With all the white hair and false teeth. sounds like you'd be gettting the better end of that deal," she teased before poking him in the rib again, "I meant adopt you into my family, I'm still pretty sure my dad is older than you, but you know the family where it's ok to have emotions and tell people how you feel or just be friends with someone without an ulterior motive. Besides, I've always kinda wanted a older sibling."

Warren chuckled softly. "Well, legally or not, you're kind of a little sister too.". Ugh, first Miles and now this? Soon he'll have a facebook account, sharing all those motivational crap memes.
‎It was hard to control the shudder.

"Now, how about we make some cinnamon buns and you can fill me in on all the gossip?"
