Rogue and Billy have an early morning mishap which leaves both of them a little discombobulated.

Early mornings should be banned, Rogue thought groggily as she padded into the kitchen. Even her bunny slippers looked appropriately dejected. It was really her own fault, staying up too late watching Orange is the New Black, knowing full well she had an early morning meeting in the city.

Why oh why didn't she take Adrienne up on her offer of a place to stay downtown? Then she wouldn't have to be here right now, at 5 in the godforsaken morning, trying to remember how to work the stupid coffee machine.

"Why won't you wooork," she pleaded, pushing buttons aimlessly. "Curse you, foul machine!"

Billy, on the other hand, had managed to work the coffee machine in his suite. It was the milk that the was the problem. Fickle dairy, spoiling so easily. The moment the cap came off he knew it wasn't even fit to splash into the coffee. He'd only contemplated summoning some for a moment, but couldn't even form the words to make it happen, so instead, he padded his way down to the main kitchen, steaming mug in hand. He stopped short in the doorway, his mind trying to comprehend that someone else was already there. Surely, the fates wouldn't be so cruel as to require two people to be up at such an hour.

Rogue barely registered Billy's entrance. She was too busy hanging over the coffee machine, crying helplessly. Bleary eyed, she rubbed her face and looked at him. "Are y'all a mirage? Can ya work this? Ah need caffeine like a birthday kid needs a pinata."‎

"Never used it," Billy paused, interrupted by a yawn. "But I can give it a try."  He made his way over to the machine, setting down his mug and squinting through bleary eyes, trying to read the labels. "What gets you up at this godsforsaken hour?"

"Work," she sighed out, crossing her arms in front her. Still in her pjs, she hadn't bothered to ‎put on a bra. She wonder how noticeable it was. "An' Ah made poor life choices last night, stayed up waaaay too late, and now I gotta be in the city by 8 for a meeting. ". Another sigh. "Ah'm gonna be late, huh.. "

Billy continued to tinker with the machine, flipping switches at random. "This thing's got more buttons than my mother," he grumbled as he pushed another to no effect. He glowered at it a moment, the his gaze drifted to the side. "Kidding me..." he muttered, reaching around and pulling out a loose cord. "That might help," he attempted a grin, waggling it at her. He quickly plugged it in and tried the button again, this time resulting in a more satisfying whirring noise. "Why would someone unplug it... Anyway... I hope you're not too late. I'm headed that way and offer to take you along, but I've never tried taking someone along that far."

Rogue threw her hands up in joy. "Oh you lovely person!" Now that it was working, she could enjoy her coffee. Which she did, black and steaming. "Best coffee evah. You sir, are a saint. And what did you say about travellin'? You a flier too?"‎

"Nah, not a flier.  Well, not yet at least," Billy started to explain as he rummaged around for a mug of his own. "I've only ever managed to hold other things in the air, not me.  Kind of like trying to lift your own bootstraps. I can teleport, though. I manage to get me places most times, but still not too practiced in taking others along."

"Oh cool, like Kurt?" She wrapped her hands around her mug and took a deep breath in. "Cause he can teleport people around, so maybe it's just practice."

"I haven't met him yet, but maybe. Magic is my thing, so I can make a lot of stuff happen.  Well, after I've had coffee," Billy added, retrieving a mug and pouring himself a glass. "Much better."

She nodded along, starting to slowly drift into consciousness. It didn't matter how many times she got up early -- she was not, nor would she ever be, a morning person.

"Amen." Glancing at the clock, her eyes widened. "Shit, is that the time? Ah'm gonna be late!"‎. She set her mug down quickly and went to turn around. In the process of this, her clumsiness came out and she tangled her slippers in her long pajama bottoms. "Fuck!," she cursed reaching her hand out.

It was only automatic that she grabbed onto Billy's hand, but the immediate headache and power drain reminded her of one crucial thing: she'd forgotten her gloves. In her panic, she had a hard time trying to control her power enough to get it to let go of the man.‎ Her skin reminded her of a thirsty plant sometimes, desperately sucking up any stray water.

By the time she was able to disengage, it'd only been a few minutes but that was enough.

"Nononononononono," she said tiredly, trying her best to hold Billy up. "Billy? You okay? You up? Can ya hear me? Ah am so sorry!". That was the last thing she remebered as she blinked out of the room.

Billy set his mug down with a thump as he saw her start to fall, and he extended the now-free hand in effort to stop her. The moment their skin connected, though, he knew that was a mistake. His knees went wobbly before collapsing beneath him entirely, sending them both to the floor entangled. He barely noticed as Rogue extracted herself, and he lay there staring at the ceiling, trying to stop the world from lurching around him. As coherent thought finally began to return, he managed to croak out a "What...was...that?" trying to twist to find her.
