Backdated to September 7:
Clarice meets Sharon with as much aplomb as one can while plotting and making glitter bombs. Turns out they have being EMTs in common.

Seriously?" Sharon groaned as she scanned the material on the screen in front of her. Getting her nursing license transferred was starting to give her a headache. "This is what they want me to study?" Clicking to the next screen, she pulled over the notebook next to her, scribbling down a few notes. Letting out a sigh, she muttered to herself. "Let's just get this over with."

"And juggle flaming chainsaws at the same time," Clarice agreed as she walked into the medlab, overhearing the comment without context. She had a funnel and bag of glitter with her. Her scrubs had sequins.

"Easier then jumping through three hoops." Sharon replied without looking up from her screen. When she finally did look up from the screen, she had to blink a few times. "Is Halloween starting early this year?" She asked, gestured at the sequins on Clarice her outfit. "Or a costumed ball?"

"Nope, I'm always purple," Clarice replied thinking Sharon was referring to get soon and not her outfit. "I won the mutation lottery and got purple skin for some random reason only the gods understand," though it seemed to go with teleportation if herself and Kurt were any sort of sample to go by.

"It'd make a great costume but..." Sharon gestured at the sequins and the glitter in the purple woman's hands. "I was thinking of the sequins and the glitter."

"Oh! Everyone needs sequins sometimes, honey," Clarice replied, glancing down and realizing that she was wearing them. "I can get you some. Just tell me what color, we can bedazzle whatever scrubs you want," hefting the bag of glitter, she grinned, "This....this is for people who deserve it."

"Nah, I like my plain scrubs just fine." Sharon quickly declined. "Plus they're far easier to wash." Eyeing the glitter again, she continued: "So who are these 'people who deserve it?'"

Grinning slightly ferally, Clarice set the bag on a counter glad that it was still sealed, "The new people. All new people," she looked pointedly at Sharon, "present company excluded. I'm not in the habit of glittering my coworkers usually. Gotta work with them and all. But it's my special form of welcome. And a bunch of them are annoying. So, two birds, one stone."

"From what I hear, there have been a lot of new people..." Sharon commented dryly. "Are you gonna glister them all? And which are the annoying ones?"

Fair point. Nodding in concession, Clarice shrugged, "Well....most," she agreed. "Some of the kids. Admittedly, I was horribly annoying at their age, but, I got my own licks to get me out of it. Now, I'm passing those teachings along so they can be as well-adjusted as me!" Again, she flashed a less than reassuring smile. "It's fine."

"The ones were threatening pranks on the journals? I saw them when I read back a bit." Sharon grinned. "I'm guessing this place generally gives as good as it gets?"

Nodding, Clarice headed to one of the computers to get started with her own work, "Usually with interest," the prank wars, while not always epic, were at least entertaining. "but like....one kid came into my suite and went through weapons and shit. Now, most of them weren't mine, my suitemate has....a lot. But still. Uncool. Lessons need to be learned."

"So you are going prank her?" Sharon asked slightly incredulously. "Wouldn't she just be grounded or something? Or maybe more, considering weapons and stuff."

Clarice nodded, "She is grounded. Wade is all parental. But this is my turn," and possibly why she didn't have kids or responsibilities for kids or whatever. "It wasn't just his stuff. And she might need a weapon in the future."

"But the pranking is meant to keep her out of yours and your roommates?" Sharon strove to follow the purple woman's logic. "Or do you want to lure her back?"

"Both," Clarice replied. "Firstly, actions have consequences. And secondly, if she's interested, then she needs to learn how to use them safely. Shit happens, you gotta be able to handle yourself."

"Got a point on both of them..." Sharon conceded. "Still not seeing how get covered with glitter is supposed to teach her that though." The thing about the kids here using to learn weapons though... it was mentioned pretty part de course.

"So you like being covered in glitter? It's like, the herpes of crafting. I love it, but then, I'm not known for liking the popular stuff," the real question was what was the best vector for delivery?

"Don't even dare. I stay far away from the stuff. Plus, it get literally everywhere!" Sharon held up her hands defensively.

"That's what I thought!" Clarice laughed, she had no intention of glittering Sharon. She wasn't a new teen and also, she worked in the medlab. Those things protected her. "Now then. Welcome to the medlab."

"Thanks." Sharon lowered her hands and finally leaned back in her chair. "What do you usually do? Cecilia mentioned you're a PA? And how about a water balloon?"

"I am. Physician's Assistant," she was proud of that and worked hard to get there, "My specialty is emergency medicine. I started as an EMT, back before....well, before things went to shit," which was how she had been able to do everything and be purple. Of course, the patchwork reality didn't help either. Keep it vague. "And water isn't nearly as terrifying as glitter."

"Maybe if you mix the glitter in with the water? It does make for good ammo." Sharon pointed out. "And an EMT? I did the same when I was studying to be a nurse."

Oh, Sharon was going to fit in nicely here. Offering a high five, Clarice smiled, "Yay EMTs! Weirdest call?"

"Let me think for a sec..." Sharon considered for a moment. "I'd be the time we got a call who had gone parachuting and had fallen 120 feet. Only he had not jumped out of a plane, but had been drinking, figured the stiff wind could work as well, so he could do something similar to parasailing... It worked for a bit, but then things went... well wrong..."

"Ow....Darwin at his finest," Clarice winced in sympathy, "Did he need a putty knife after that?"

"Miraculously he survived. Was even bright enough through the drink to explain us that it was really one beer he had had." Sharon shook her head with a wry grin. "

That was impressive on both counts, "Gimme his name. I'll make sure he doesn't reproduce. It's the least I can do since you saved his life."

Sharon suddenly had to cough, trying to swallow the wry laughter that bubbled up. "Uhm... won't be needed anymore... at least, I think so. He hit something between the legs on the way down..."

"Oh good," Clarice smiled, glad to hear that. Some people just shouldn't share in the rest of the gene pool. "Well. I'm gonna go back to making glitter balloons."

"Good luck with that. I've my course work to get back..." She pulled her laptop back to her, glaring at the screen. "See you later, Clarice."

Giving Sharon a little wave, Clarice took her things and headed over to the back table to get to work. Who knew? Maybe she would even do the work she was paid for.
