Walking into work was a strange experience. Even though Rogue had a clear idea of who was who and where things were, she almost felt like she was playing a role. Marie D'Ancato, cast as Personal Assistant #1.

Part of her was slightly annoyed that she was someone's minion, but the other side reluctantly agreed that being supervised by her best friend on a regular basis probably had kept her out of trouble.

Heels clicking on the floor, she strode right into Adrienne's office and placed her coffee order on the desk. And then, without warning, she threw her arms around Adrienne's shoulders and tried her best not to cry.

"Uh oh." Adrienne squirmed uncomfortably within the hug. "What happened? Did someone die?"

Even though she knew Adrienne was her Adrienne, it was still relieving to hear her voice, see the same mannerisms. Even with the groovy haircut. Rogue choked back a laugh and moved to the corner of the desk, her arms wrapped around her waist. "Kinda," she answered, her accent minimal. "You could say that.". She gave a shaky smile. "Sorry. I had this all planned out, how I would tell you. And then I have to go and start cryin'. Typical, huh?"

Adrienne squinted at the woman perched on the corner of her desk, scrutinizing the movements, facial expressions (as much as she could make out with the blurriness, anyway, since her glasses were missing again), phrasing and tone of voice she'd just heard. "Wait... are you... are you you again?"

Rogue gave a quick nod, not trusting herself to say anything. Picking up a tissue from the box on Adri's desk, she gave another short laugh. "Ya. Myself. Whatever that means these days. You were right," she continued, "about Emma. She helped me figure out how to unlock the boxes. Guess my brain is so used to compartmentalizing that it neatly tucked things away, and took me back to when I felt safest. Which apparently is 19." Rogue shook her head. "In 11 years. I've never felt safer than at that moment. Go figure."

"That says a lot about... everything," Adrienne muttered, slightly disturbed by that fact. "But I'm glad Emma helped you. And you're still alive and as far as I know you're not clucking like a chicken so she must have liked you."

Rogue gave Adri a sideways look. "Oh god. If I have some weird subliminal from your sister, I'm blaming you and you alone." She sighed and picked up her own coffee. "Is it weird if I ask you not to tell anyone? Not even Kane? I think we have some weird unfinished business to deal with, and while I get that he had a right to be upset or whatever, I'm pretty pissed off that he basically bailed on me. What if I never got my memories back? Then what? I lost my best friend in the kitchen, and I'm not sure how I feel about that. And then there's the whole Logan thing, which I'm also mad about." A pause. "And I'm pretty sure I was kind of annoyed that I'm your minion...but you pay me good, and I have an amazing wardrobe now so I'll forgive you because you're my wife and I love you."

"Hey!" Adrienne put her hands up defensively. "You needed money! I was doing you a favour! No offense but you're not exactly the world's greatest PA. So, yeah, thanks for the forgiveness," she smirked. "How long do I have to not tell Agent Lana?" she asked with a raised eyebrow. "Cuz, y'know, the two of us don't do real well with keeping secrets from each other. It's how people end up punching walls. And by people I mean Agent Lana. Also, why are you mad about Logan? What Logan thing am I missing?"

"Let me talk to him first. If you give me the day off, I can go and talk to him later.". Rogue was going to ignore the PA comment. Of course she was terrible -- she could barely organize her own life.‎

Raising an eyebrow, she gave Adrienne a puzzled look. "Do we not talk? How do you not know the whole Logan thing?" She let out a sigh. "‎So I guess I started making more of a move on him, but a piss poor effort, because clearly, my teenage brain can't cope with adult things. Anyways, he started texting pretty suggestive stuff, but nothing overly obvious, and one thing led to another and I kissed him at your party. And then the man made the most vague non-commital whatever comment which I'm not surprised about. What I'm mad about is that it feels like he was just playing games and I do not appreciate that. Be honest. He turned me down when I was younger, and he was straight up about it. I respect that. None of this mind game shit. I have enough problems in my brain without adding him to it."

"You grossly overestimate my interest in your love life," Adrienne said as a response to Rogue's question about how she didn't know about the whole Logan thing. "Well, good for you. You're right, it seems like you have enough on your plate now that you're all grown up again. You don't have to take any mind game shit from anyone else but my sister."

"Yeah....which is why I need to talk to him. And Kane.". Rogue fingered the corner of the desk, looking down. "You can tell Kane. No sense in secrets. I'll talk to him soon anyways."

She glanced over at Adrienne. "Was this hard for you too? Are we okay? You're the first person I'm coming to, because you're my wife and I love you."

Adrienne looked at Rogue with the same puzzled look she'd been given earlier. "Sure, 'course we're okay. And I don't know if I'd say it was hard or easy. It just kinda was what it was. I couldn't change it so I didn't really know what to do other than to roll with it and, y'know, make sure you had some means of income and were, I dunno, safe or whatever." She put her feet up on her desk. "You can have the day off to talk to Kane if that's what you want. And I won't talk to him about you until you give me the okay. I know he'll understand that."

Rogue shook her head. "No it's not fair of me to ask that. I'll head there now any ways. Thanks for taking care of me.". She smiled widely. "Now to the important things: can we go get wasted? My healthy brain could handle that."

Still wearing the puzzled look thinly veiling a smirk, Adrienne tapped her computer screen with a fingernail. "Swan, it's like, the middle of the day. Do you want me to fire you?"

A sly grin crossed Rogue's face. "I haven't shenaniganized in months. Come on. There has to be somewhere we can be footloose and fancy free. You know you waaannnaaa," she said in a sing-song voice.‎

Rolling her eyes, Adrienne sent off a text to Tandy and one to Garrison. "You are the worst enabler. Seriously, it's a good thing you don't do coke or my seventeen years sobriety would be completely fucked. Let's go. I've been meaning to check out Keller's place this month, since he changes it all the bloody time."

Rogue pumped a fist in the air as she hopped off the desk. "Yes! I've been dying to check out Casanova's bar! And I only enable because I care." She could go see Kane tomorrow.

"You enable because you like getting into shit with me and, like you said, you haven't shenaniganized in far too long. You just want to see whether today's the day we finally get arrested, don't you?"

That earned Adrienne a huge grin. "If we do, I have bail money!"‎
