While out for a jog, Bobbi runs into Sharon, and the two get to know each other (and their abilities) while making future plans.
The paths throughout were definitely one thing she enjoyed about her move here. Sharon considered as she slowed down to a walk. Scanning around her, she searched for a nice spot to do the calisthenics that she had kept as part of her training ever since she had left the army. With a few small adaptations.
Bobbi had been out jogging herself, trying to get in some exercise while enjoying the warm weather at the same time. She slowed down when she spied an unfamiliar face looking around the idea, then came to a stop nearby the newcomer.
"Hi there, enjoying the weather?" she asked, leaning against a nearby tree for a minute for a little rest while talking to the other woman.
"It's pretty good." Sharon easily rolled up from the sit ups she had been doing. "And it's already September. Who knows how long it will last. Out for a jog?"
"Yeah, exactly, gotta take advantage of it while you can." Bobbi replied with a grin. "I'm not sure we've met before, I'm Bobbi by the way." She didn't offer her hand like she normally would, but she did hold it up to show how sweaty her palms were as if to say sorry, don't want to get you all sweaty.
"I'm Sharon. I'm still pretty new, so the not having seen me before is right." Sharon explained. "So...I've seen a lot of people out running today? Is it common or just the nice weather?"
"The weather is definitely a big part, it's been pretty nice lately, though a lot of us are pretty active I guess." Bobbi said as she thought about it. "Got to enjoy it while you can, right? Before you know it winter will be here." The year was flying by and while she loved Christmas she wasn't looking forward to snow again. "How are you liking it here so far?"
"Takes some getting used to." Sharon replied honestly. "Different from what I expected with a very strange mix of people that live here. The only thing in common is being a mutant from what I have seen."
"It is a little different, yeah." It was true that they had one thing in common, namely being mutants, but other than that there really was an eclectic assortment of personalities in the house. "It's a great place, though. You'll like it here, I'm sure of it." Bobbi emphasized her guarantee with a smile and a nod.
"So... do I ask what you can do or is that a bit of a taboo around here? Haven't gotten the read on that yet." Sharon asked curiously.
"No, that's fine." Bobbi replied. "The answer isn't all that exciting, I'm afraid. It's basically enhanced strength, agility, and stamina. Nothing too flashy, like some of the others." she said with a grin. Not that she minded, she was completely happy with what she had and grateful for them. "How about yourself, Sharon?"
"Something similar to yours probably. I've always been good at physical stuff, but never tested how far I could go. Might do that here..." Sharon trailed off, considering the idea for a moment.
"You should, this is the perfect place for that," she answered. It was interesting to find someone had abilities similar to hers; Bobbi knew what it was like to deal with first discovering something like that and would be more than happy to help Sharon if she could. "In fact, if you need any help with that, or anything for that matter, just say the word, yeah?"
"How did you figure out how far you could go?" Sharon asked curiously, reaching up with her hands to stretch as she felt her shoulders start to stiffen a little.
"Mostly from pushing myself, little by little, bit by bit." A lot of it had been trial and error when she was younger, and by the time she'd arrived at Xavier's Bobbi had a pretty decent idea of her limits. "There's a lot of people here who can help you with that, however."
"Sounds good..." Sharon nodded. "So, is it just running or do you do other sports as well?"
"Track and field was my main sport growing up, but I do like other sports occasionally." She'd been known to play a little baseball, and tossing the ol' football around wasn't out of the question every now and then either. "Is there anything you like to play? We can try to set up a game some time maybe." It'd be a good way to get her to meet people on top of being fun, come to think of it.
"I've tried out a lot of things, but I have mostly stuck to martial arts, parkour and a little gymnastics." Sharon explained, realizing that were all more solitary pursuits. "A game sounds fun. What do most people around here like? I saw baseball on the journals, but that seems more watching then playing."
"Well, football season has started so that's another option, I guess, but that's a tad bit more violent than baseball." She rubbed her chin and thought for a minute. "We could always propose a no-powers baseball game for fun perhaps? That might get some people interested." It couldn't hurt to try either, she figured.
"Sure, that sounds like fun. Or some soccer? Seems some of the kids like that." Sharon added her own suggestion after a few moments of thinking.
"Soccer would totally work as well, maybe even better now that I think about it." With soccer the players would be in motion a lot more often than they would be in baseball, which would be a much better test of her endurance. "Yeah, soccer would be excellent. We should totally do that, Sharon."
"Soccer it is. So what is the easiest way to set up something like that around here?" Sharon quickly asked further. "Just using the journals?"
"Sure, that's a good way to get the word out there. I'll also ask around, see who all is interested." Hopefully they'd have a lot of people who wanted to play, soccer would allow for a lot of people to get involved.
"I can put out something on the journals then. How about in a week or two? I think I am joining the kids on a trip to the Smithsonian sometime soon..."
"Sure, that would give us lots of time to get things organized." Bobbi said with a smile. "That sounds like fun too, the Smithsonian is a great place." She hadn't been there for awhile but it was a favorite of hers.
"Never had the chance and plenty of time atm, so why not?" Sharon shrugged. "I'll put up something soon."
"Alright then, sounds like a plan then." said Bobbi. It'd be great to have one more sporting event before the winter set in, she figured. "I'll keep an eye out for it, it'll be great. See you soon!" She waved and started jogging again, glad to have both met Sharon and to make plans for future activities.
