Hope and Jubilee make a deal they are both very happy with.

"No, we have three with nut allergies and one gluten free. Not three gluten free and one with nut allergies." Hope spoke softly to herself as she stabbed the keys of her keyboard, attempting to put yet another scathing email to the caterer she had grown to dislike. "I wish I could just never hire you again!" With a final stab to the mouse pad the email was on its way and she let out a sigh, before leaning back.

"So why can't you?" Jubilee asked, giving Hope a little wave as she looked up. "Never hire the caterer again, that is."

"Because their director is like the first cousin of the sister-in-law of one of the people who can overrule me on that. And I can work around it, so it not really worth bothering anyone about this." She explained.

“Uncool, dude. I hate nepotism,” Jubilee noted as she slid into a seat across from Hope. “So, Doug and Wade said you might be looking for a little help?”

"That is true." Hope closed her laptop and pushed it to the side. "They said you were my best bet to learn some things... specifically... the basics of how to pick a pocket. I recently had an experience with a pick pocket that got me into trouble and I figured the best way to counter that was to learn how to do it myself, so I know what to look out for."

“Learning to pick someone’s pocket and learning not to be the victim of someone picking your own are two different skills, kid,” Jubilee explained, giving her a searching look. “I can teach you both – but if I’m going to do that, then it’s going to be more than basic, it’ll take time and there’s no short cuts to this stuff. You gonna be cool with that?”

Hope was silent for a long moment, pondering. "I do not know if I ever really could be a master at this, but I do want to learn. Both skills. I can see how it can be one more line of defense to have for someone like me."

“Right then, so now we get down to payment,” Jubilee replied with a grin, clapping her hands together. “How are you at planning weddings?”

"Right, I did offer to help with that on the journals" Hope returned a smile. "Not too much experience with weddings specifically, but I have planned several events by now, so I should be able to handle it. Can you give me a bit of an overview what you have in mind?"

“Elements of tradition mixed with our own spin, I’m thinking. I’ll be wearing red, and he’s blue all on his own, so colors would need to not clash too horrifically, or at all. At least two of the bridal party are going to be men and I need to talk to Kurt about who’s going to be in the grooms party but mostly I haven’t done a lot of actual planning yet – so you’d need to sit down with both of us before we start any of this.”

Hope nodded, flipping open her laptop and starting a word document, not yet the event planning software she had available as well. She made some quite notes about what Jubilee had said. "I am guessing we might be looking at incorporating both elements from a Chinese wedding as well as a possibly Catholic ceremony?"

“Probably – more Catholic then Chinese honestly, I’m like – way too American to get most of the traditions, the whole red thing is more something to remember my parents more than really caring. Kurt’s kinda, way more in touch with his roots then I am.”
"I'll do some reading on the Catholic ceremony then, to make sure I am aware of everything it entails." Hope made yet another note in the word document. "Do you have any idea when it would be good idea to sit down with the three of us?"

“Any time in the next week or so, probably,” Jubilee noted with a frown. She could be called away at a moment’s notice, given her profession and the lack of warning they sometimes got when things exploded. “I’m going to be hanging close for a while – so unless there’s some kind of horrible emergency that needs my attention, we should be good.”

Hope switched from her laptop to her smartphone and pulled up her agenda. "I am in New York most of the week, but Wednesday afternoon I will be at the mansion. Would that work?"

"Probably - I'll talk to Kurt and then get back to you?" Jubilee replied, bouncing one knee as she leaned back in the chair. "Not sure about guest numbers yet either, I need to ask Chuck if we can maybe do a garden wedding here? I know Kurt would love a church wedding but like, dude, I hate the idea of him having to wear some kind of image inducer just because arseholes can't get with the program."

"Finding a supportive priest might be possible..." Hope concurred. "And a church. But the open nature of a church makes the security factor a whole lot more complicated if Mr. Sefton does not wear an image inducer, I am guessing."

“Yes,” Jubilee replied, not mentioning her own issues with security, she wasn’t in any systems as her original identity, and even for this wedding would be using one of her aliases. She was fairly sure Hope would know what to do, she’d been working with Doug after all. “Not that I want to give him a reason to argue using one, of course.”

"If Mr. Sefton wants me to, I would be happy to make a call to the diocese, see what can be done. They must have dealt with troublesome issues before... But that reminds me of something else... like I just mentioned... safety. If it is done here at the mansion I do not think it will be an issue, but if we do go outside the mansion, is there anyone you would prefer I talk to about it? Someone who could also oversee it on the big day itself?"

“Doug, hands down if I had a choice,” Jubilee replied, not even having to think about it. “But talk to Marie-Ange, she’ll know who’s free to do the work.”

"I'll put it down as something to consider later." Hope mentioned as she made notes about the church situation and keeping the safety concerns in mind. "Is there anything else you'd like me to look into before we talk again with Mr. Sefton present as well?"

“Not that I can think of, dude,” Jubilee replied, getting ready to stand. “I should leave you to your cursing.”

"Alright. We'll be in touch soon about the appointment and the start of the lessons later this week. Thank you, Ms. Lee." Hope saved the document, then pulled the email in front of her and dug out her phone. Time to argue with the caterer again.
