Stephen and Clea have lunch and talk about girls and cooties.

"So....you are in a group project with Brittney. She is cute." Clea wiggled her eyebrows at Steve as she took a seat in the cafeteria. "Thoughts?"

"Mainly that this should not be called food," Stephen replied offhandedly bouncing a fork of the Jello on his plate, "You see that, it shouldn't be able to do that!" The teen sighed and pushed away his tray, "Umm, yeah for english, everyone has to reproduce a scene from a play. It's kinda funny to see people waving around rulers pretending they're swords."

"You are changing the subject." Taking a sip of her water bottle. "Stop focusing on school for just a minute. You have to like someone."

Stephen gave her a sidelong look, "I...who says, I've got you, I've got football and class, what more do I need?"

Clea looked at her friend as if she was trying to read his mind. "No interest in dating? You are a 16 year old boy and I will find it hard to believe if you say no."

Stephen gave her a wide grin, "Didn't you know, girls have cooties," he told her with a wise nod, "Honestly, well how could any girl compare to you?" he pointed out, "My best friend sets kinda a high bar you know."

"I thought we already talked about the cooties bit when we were 10." She gave him a shake of her head. "Me? Well I do set pretty tall standards, don't I?"

"Yup, you said girls don't have cooties, but then you are a girl so I figured it was all part of a worldwide conspiracy to infect all the boys," Stephen teased, "Yup you sure do, so why would I settle for second best?"

"Now I know why yo are still single." Clea leaned on her hand and gave him a hopeless look. "I am going to set you up. Don't care what you say."

"The question is how would you find someone without Cooties?" Stephen teased leaning back in his chair and grinning at Clea, "Besides, it's not just everyone who can keep up with me, if they get past your exacting standards anyway."

"You are a sixteen year old boy and you are still worried about cooties? Again it has been six years since we had this conversation. Hey if Maya can grow on me, I have hope for other girls."

"That's 6 more years of knowing you, I know you're out to get me. WOuldn't count out hte long con yet, I'd be all happy and then baam, I get blind sided. No thank you very much," Stephen responded with a laugh, "Maya's alright, she likes video games so I'm sold."

Clea finished her sandwich, "Britney likes video games." And she had come to a complete circle.

Stephen arched an eyebrow and took a sip of his water, "YOu know, I didn't want to mention it but you seem particularly obessesed by this girl, how else would you know something like that. Are you sure there's nothing you want to tell me Clea?"

Clea sighed, "You got me. I am into other girls." The sound of the bell echoed in the cafeteria. "See you later?" She winked at him before standing up and heading off to her next class.
