Ty rubbed a hand over his head as he opened the fridge. He thought he may have shaved too close with his last cut and goosebumps broke out on his scalp. He started stacking food on the counter. Breakfast time.
Artie blinked at the pile of food on the counter. There was seeing and then there was believing. He just look at it, eyebrows raised before looking back at the fridge. A picture appeared of the fridge, utterly empty and looking sad.
Ty snorted with laughter. "I'll go shopping later, man. Need to fuel up first. Wanna share?"
Artie shrugged, nodded and indicated that he'd have the pulled pork, a second image, a moment later, of a bread roll joining it. There was only one serve of it left.
With a grin, Ty handed it over. "Sure, plenty left for me. Y'wanna come shopping with me? I'll eat anything, but we can get things other people actually like."
Artie gave him a blank look. Sure, he could go shopping. There was nothing to prevent that but... Shaking his head he replied in images - a cartoon spy version of himself, standing in front of some of the other X Force figures. Next to them was the mansion and the image zoomed in to a wireframe plan of the ground floor. A broom and mop appeared, blanked out by a no sign. Groceries in a cart - the same and the same for cooking in the industrial-sized kitchen.
Ty stifled his laughter. "Fair enough. Any requests?" He organized his food into a protein/carb/protein order before heading toward a table.
Artie shook his head and settled back to lean against the bench, staring at the pile Tyrone had amassed in disbelief. Energy manipulators. He pointed at it with his free hand and raised an eyebrow curiously. Why so much was the implied question.
"Man, I wish I didn't have to eat so much, but since I got back from Asgard, I feel hollow all over, like all the time." He rubbed his stomach, expression uncomfortable. "Sometimes I worry I'll just start chewing on furniture."
Artie replied with a picture of Marius from his bitey hand days, zooming in on the hands. He paused momentarily, remembering that that part of Marius' life had been over for eleven years and sure, he might have been around in the bitey hand days but the story wasn't his. He settled for "You sure you're eating the right kind of food?" The text floated in the air before dissolving.
Ty stops completely, hands hovering in the air. He pushes his brain to remember those years in Asgard. "The food wasn't that much different," he said thoughtfully. "Less processing, sure, but the same basic stuff. Except, a lot of their tools are based in magic." He almost stopped breathing. "Magic. There was so much magic around, you could almost feel it in the air," he realized.
"And you weren't as hungry then?" The text hung in the air and Artie sighed. Goddamn energy manipulators. He offered a picture of Topaz, saying "she might be around." He shrugged. "Might be worth plugging you in and seeing what happens."
Ty couldn’t help the gigantic grin that spread across his face as he pulled his phone out to shoot a text off to Topaz. “Artie, my man, you are a genius.”
Artie pointed at himself and nodded. Damn right. He looked over at Ty. "if it does turn out u need energy go carefully. u've been starving for a long long time if that's what ur supposed to eat."
“Wonder if there’s some sort of energy mutant dietician,” Ty joked.
