Backdated to Christmas Eve
Rogue had finally reached the kind of drunk that required dancing. Leaving Kane at their table, Rogue found a happy corner and started moving, not really caring who saw her or what they thought. She wasn't the most amazing dancer, but at least she could keep a beat.
It was about fifteen minutes later that she remembered Logan had texted her that he was on his way. She should be a good girlfriend and look for him but she was too busy grooving.
Logan stepped through the door and was hit by the smell of alcohol, eggnog, and too much gingerbread. He shook his head and eased further into the crowd. Harry's Christmas Eve party was just like it always was. The building decorated to the hilt and people everywhere.
He waved a greeting at Kane then looked around for Rogue, chuckling to himself when he spotted her dancing by herself in a corner as he headed her way.
Rogue was so in tune to her dancing that she didn't notice Logan until he was almost in front of her. "Baby!" she cried out, throwing her arms around his neck. "You came! Which...I don't know why I'm surprised since we agreed to come to this." She gave out a giggle. "I decided that Christmas should happen hung over. Make sure to mock me tomorrow."
Logan curled an arm around Rogue's waist and swayed to the music. "Hey darlin'. In that case, no cheatin' on your part to sober up." He brushed a light kiss against her hair. "Oh, don't worry. I will. You and Kane have a good time?"
She nodded, and closed her eyes, enjoying the closeness. "That we did. He wants us to join him and Adri for dinner tomorrow night. Figured you'd be okay with that, so I said yes. I.....probably will drink again tomorrow, just as a head's up. Christmas is the time for diabetes and liver disease, doncha know."
He chuckled. "You plannin' on welcomin' in the New Year drunk? 'Cause sure sounds like that's where you're headin'." He rubbed a hand over her shoulder, letting her soak in touch. "I'll be sure to bring some wine so we don't clear 'em out completely."
"I highly doubt that either Kane or Adri would ever be unstocked. Those two appreciate the finer things in life. But yah, manners dictate bringing a present.". She giggled. "I remember going to etiquette classes. Did I ever tell ya that? I can make swans out of napkins."
"That they definitely do." And they tended to let Rogue indulge, sometimes to extremes. If she didn't seem to be perfectly fine outside those times Logan might be worried. "Nah, don't think ya have. Or if you did I forgot. You make any other animals?"
"Mmmmm, I can make an elephant but I need two napkins. A rose, also with two....I can also make flowers out of butter and properly set a table for a prince." She laced her fingers through his, looking down as she tried hard to remember those long ago lessons. "My mama scrimped and saved to send me to those classes, bless her heart, but I don't really remember anymore...."
"Now that I'd like to see. Guess I'll have to come up with a reason for ya to bring out those fancy skills of yours." He squeezed her hand back. "Haven't had much use for 'em so I don't blame ya. You've had other things to keep track of instead of all those fancy smancy things."
Rogue poked Logan in the chest with a cheeky grin. "Like you, big boy. Now how about you shut up and dance with me?"
"Thought I was already doin' that," Logan said with a chuckle then stepped back to twirl Rogue before pulling her close again.
