Bruised and Cyclops take on Iron-Man, only to have a surprise happen.

With War Machine down, Namor moved to help Bevetron, under assault by Thor. Fortunately, while raw strength didn't help against Thor much, it was an excellent asset against the power armored Avengers. Iron Man was dodging Scott's optic blasts and reassessing the situation. Finally, he tapped his suit and took off skyward. A pod appeared in the air, racing towards him. As it got close, it broke apart into pieces, which started to attach to his armor. Seconds later, he landed on the roof, clad in a significantly larger suit.

"Changed into something more comfortable."

Molly squinted. She had always wanted to meet Iron Man...but this was totally not the way she wanted to do it.

"Comfortable for who?" she said, popping open a soda she'd stolen from the inside bar and taking a long drink. All the punchy punchy was really wearing her down. She hadn't used her powers this much in awhile. Not since Alaska. To the casual observer she probably just looked unprofessional, or thirsty, or cavalier. Just as long as no one thought of her as sleepy.

"Right, bring it on Voltron."

Scott felt his lips curl up into a smile as he glanced over at Molly, "That's probably one of the most unique insults I've ever heard," he complimented her, "I like it."

The X-man turned back to look at the red metal covered Avenger. "You heard the lady, Step up and let us peel you out of there, or step out and run home with your tail between your legs but your suit still working. Please pick option one, that mask would look so awesome mounted above my fireplace."

Iron Man raised both arms and the beefed up repulsor blasters delivered a massive barrage, targeting them both.

"Ack!" Molly yelped, barely having him to even grin about the fact that the leader dude had totally complimented her (squee!) before jumping in front of him to protect him from the repulsor blasts. Yeah, they were shooting at her too, but he was the squishy one that could be injured by them.

The blasts bounced off her skin, burning holes into her costume. Surprisingly, though? They did hurt, even if they didn't char her flesh.

"OW! Run fast please!" she shouted to Mr. Summers, skittering for cover.

"Can your pew pew eye beam make the repulsors go away?" she asked.

Pew Pew Eyes beams...Scott wasn't sure who he wanted to shoot more, Molly or Iron Man. A red beam flashed out, redirecting a repulsor into the ground. "It looks like I can. Get in there, I'll keep the beams off you until you're close enough to peel him out of that suit."

The suit made a complicated series of mechanical movements, and it braced against the ground. With massive hands, it ripped a chuck of concrete almost as large as itself and tossed it at the pair.

Molly looked up at what was causing sudden shadow that had darkened their doorstep. Eyes widening, she reached up---and caught the massive piece of concrete, the abrupt stop and added weight causing her feet to crater the pavement below her.

Jaw clenching, Molly glanced over at Iron Man. "Hey! That's my move," she said. She lifted the slab above her head, tossing it right back at him.

"Let me show you how it's done!"

Iron-Man fired out a rocket, which caught the slab half way. The explosion rained both sides with sharp stone projectiles.

Eyes wide Scott threw out an energy blast sweeping most of the projectiles streaming towards him out of the air as he heard them clatter down around him. As with any hasty act his measures were less than effective and he felt a sliver of stone slice across his cheek, the sudden heat of blood on his cheek as he narrowed his eyes at the giant suit of armour. "That wasn't very nice," and a brace of beams lashed out, buffeting the frame as Scott unleashed an attack, not holding back any power. If the suit was able to handle the Hulk then he should be able to let his beams fly at their maximum power.

Scott's beam caught him clear in the chest and sent him flying back. Before he could follow up, a crackling blue nimbus surrounded Iron-Man for a moment. All over the battle field, the Avengers were being caught in the same energy. Slowly, they backed off from their battles, holding their heads and trying to shake off the confusion.

SHIELD personnel, hiding behind heavily shielded doors, started to pour out on the rooftops, rushing with medical aid as the confused Avengers tried to piece together what had happened. What had been a life or death battle moments before were now a bad hangover, fill of lost memories and confusion. Quietly, the X-Men began to withdraw, nursing their own injuries as they slipped home.
