xp_logs | Hope and Topaz || April Fool's Day

No one is safe on April Fool's Day. Not even the tiny, grumpy magic user.

"Hmmmph," Topaz mumbled as she stared at her empty kitchen cabinets. She had no food. She really needed to go shopping.

Thankfully there was a fully stocked kitchen right downstairs. She grabbed her bag and went downstairs to raid that kitchen for her snacks for the day. A package of cookies would probably be fine, she decided as she walked into the kitchen.

"Oh hey Topaz." Hope commented as she looked up from her Cobb's salad. "Don't tell me you were suffering from empty cupboards as well?" She added when she saw her friend making a bee line for the cupboards.

"Hey Hope," Topaz said with a quickl smile over her shoulder as she found a package of Oreos and claimed them for herself. "Yeah, 'course I am. Who has time for shopping anyways?"

"Not me. Luckily I managed to find the ingredients for my salad in the fridge before I have to head for the XFI office." A small smile appeared on her face before she commented: "Maybe one of the teens should set up a grocery shopping service? It might earn them a nice sum... So what brings you out of library lair besides the hunt for cookies?"

"I actually haven't made it to the library..."

Pop.

Topaz felt the slight buzz of magic, and her voice drifted off as she slowly looked down and saw that her shirt had turned pink. "Yet..." she finished her sentence slowly, almost without noticing. "What the hell..."

Hope covered her mouth, trying to stifle the giggles that escaped. It was not just Topaz' shirt that had changed... her complete outfit was different and it was a very very bright pink. "I hope that was not your favorite shirt? " She managed to get out after a long moment.

Topaz was far less amused. She just stared down at herself for a moment before shoving the package of Oreoes into her bag. "Right. April first," she mumbled, letting down her shields enough to feel everyone in the immediate area, trying to weed out the mischievous magic user who had thought this would be funny. Nothing. No one close by. Well, that was odd. "Enjoy it while you can, Hope. I'm gonna go change."

"Wait Topaz! What just happened?" Hope put a shocked tone in her voice, all the while fishing in her purse for her phone. "Did one of your students play a joke on you?" She gestured at the tight pink shirt, the matching short skirt and legging, along with white boots... "It almost looks like... some kind of movie character?" She tapped the screen of her phone two times and quickly held it up, taking two pictures.

The "shocked" tone didn't fool Topaz at all - but she was a bit distracted at the moment. "They're not my - oi, what're you doing?!" Topaz cut off mid-denial when she saw the phone. "Hope, delete those!"

Hope immediately pulled the phone behind her back. "What?!?! I do not have anything to delete!" She tucked the phone under her shirt, in the back of her pantyhose. "See... empty hands." She waved them in front of her.

"You-" Topaz cut off when she felt someone else coming toward the kitchen. "I'll deal with this later. I'm going to change. Don't show those to anyone!" And with that she grabbed her bag and ran out.

With an evil giggle Hope pulled out her phone again and retook her seat. With one hand she gathered some salad on her fork, with the other one she scrolled to her Whatsapp...
