Topaz and Tandy (Backdated)
Mar. 12th, 2017 12:25 amThe girls recoup after the battle with the ice giants. Backdated to March 12.
"Midnight, shoo." Topaz gently pushed the cat off the couch, sighing when she immediately jumped right back up.
"Blimey...pause the movie?" She asked Tandy before ducking down under the coffee table, finding a stuffed fish. Magic swirled around the fish, and it hopped out of Topaz's hand after a moment, fluttering around Midnight's head before shooting off to another part of the room. Midnight batted at it furiously and ran after it. "That'll keep her busy for a bit." Topaz straightened back up and grabbed her wine glass, taking a sip.
Tandy leaned over to grab the remote and paused the movie. "Good time to get more wine." She moved the book off her lap with the pictures from their last encounter with the portal onto the coffee table. "Want me to just grab the entire bottle? What about these cookies?"
"Yes to both." Topaz finished off her glass. She wasn't sleeping, might as well enjoy the time she had awake. "Check expiration dates on any food you grab, though. I haven't cleaned out my cabinets in a while."
Tandy put down the cookie and checked the date, "I know you live in the library but you really should live in your suite." Seeing that the date was acceptable she walked back with the wine and cookies. "What have you been doing that you haven't cleaned out your food? Or even eat your food?"
"You mean besides magic class, stopping kids from bringing knights to life and getting their heads cut off, and fighting ice giants?" Topaz asked, taking the wine and pouring herself another glass. "Mostly studying and working in the library."
"I thought keeping kids heads on was part of life at this place." Tandy smirked and poured herself another class after Topaz. "I think I'll have someone come by once a week just to make sure your cabinets have safe to eat foods."
"Blimey, is this what it's like to have a mum?" Topaz teased, grabbing the remote to start the movie again. "I never knew what I was missing out on."
"I have no idea." Tandy said about the mom part, "Mine was never around to care. I was thinking more among the line of personal delivery person. That I do know of and they are awesome. I am going to spoil you Topaz. Only because you are my love."
"A woman after my own heart," Topaz said dryly. "Better tell Keller to be careful, I might steal you away from him."
"I'll give him the heads up." Tandy winked as she settled back into her seat. "But my heart can belong to two people."
"Ah, if only you weren't straight." Topaz sipped her wine, looking back at the movie. She had honestly forgotten what they were watching. "So were ice giants a common thing in Asgard?"
"Who said I was just straight?" She gave a little chuckle before grabbing the book she was writing in with the pictures, "Not really. They tend to stay in their own realm. However, there was an issue with them harassing the dwarves, it was the beginning of us returning here actually. You remember what happened in Vegas right?"
"Oh now you're just being a tease." Topaz sipped her wine, thinking for a moment. "I was still being a bit mental when you lot came back, don't think I ever heard about what happened in Vegas." A bit mental being drinking herself to sleep every night.
"Really? Not even on the news? Pretty sure it made the news. Basically Loki thought it would be fun and try to kill us by sending us back to Midgard before our Thrall-ship was completed, backfired as we survived but had to hunt down three frost giants that were running amuck in Vegas. Baldr taught me their language..." She held up the book, "Which is what I have been working on since I came back. I don't think Molly, Ty, or I were ready to come back. I think a piece of us is still in Asgard."
"Honestly Tandy, I don't remember the first half of twenty-fifteen much anymore." Topaz tilted her head, looking at Tandy out of the corner of her eye. "You never talk about Asgard much."
Tandy looked at the photograph and was silent for a moment, "Asgard sort of became home to me. It helped me moved on with what had happened here. I found a purpose and it really opened my eyes to that there is more out there. Elves, Dwarves, Ice Giants, gods, I want to know it all." She looked over at Topaz, "There is so much more out there."
"It sounds brilliant," Topaz said quietly.
Tilting her head to the side, "Want me to teach you?"
"Sure. That'd be brilliant." Topaz loved learning new things.
"We can begin tomorrow. Right now, movie time."
