It's surprisingly not awkward.

The sun had long risen before Topaz showed any signs of stirring. Between over twenty-four hours in a hell dimension with almost no sleep, the wine, and...well, everything else, she was completely exhausted. As she finally, slowly woke, she found herself surprised that she'd even felt safe enough to sleep.

That... could have had something to do with the woman in bed next to her, though.

Topaz looked down at herself, noting the lack of clothes, then rolled slowly took at Hope. Also noting her lack of clothes. "'Lo," she said slowly, accent thicker than she usually let it get.

"Good morning." Hope was leaning one arm, looking down at her friend. "Did you sleep well?"
“Like the dead.” Topaz frowned. “Possibly not the best phrasing since something actually tried to kill me yesterday.”

"I think you could have slept a lot worse..." Hope pulled up a small smile. "And... you're okay with... I mean you're okay otherwise?"
“Yeah,” Topaz murmured, frowning slightly. “Look, I’m sorry about last night. I mean, not about... this.” She waves a hand vaguely between them. “But before, ya know.... I was being all weird.”

"Do not worry about it, Topaz." Hope shook her head. "I was glad I was able to help. We all patch each other up at times..." After a moment of quiet, she added: "So, how do you feel about some breakfast?"
“I’m not....” Topaz tilted her head. “Actually, yeah, I’m starving.” That was surprising. They should probably talk about what had happened - Topaz had no idea where to start though.

Hope stretched a little, then looked around for her clothes. "If I had known, I would have brought a dressing gown..." She teased.
“Next time I’ll give you a warning before I start snogging you,” Topaz said dryly, leaning over to grab a night shirt that had been left on the floor some time ago. Her room was a bit of a mess. “So, um....”

Grabbing the simple dress she had been wearing last night, Hope quickly pulled it over her head before climbing out of bed. She shook her head and grabbed the bull by the horns: "What should do first? Breakfast or talk about the elephant?"

Too much to hope that she would just let Topaz get away with not talking. "Elephant, I suppose," Topaz gave in. "Or you could wait a few hours and try to pry me out of the library to talk."

"Would that help?"

Topaz smiled wryly. "Probably not." She dropped back into bed, not entirely sure where to start.

"I only need to know two things. One, did it help and two, does it still feel good to you?" Hope asked after a long moment of quiet. "That is all I need... if the reply to one of them is no... we might need a little bit more time to talk."

Topaz's brow furrowed a bit, and she tilted her head - a sign that she was thinking hard. "It helped," she said slowly. "And I'm.... not sure? It wasn't bad, at all, I'm not upset or angry about what we did, I just..." She wasn't sure how to put it into words.

"Need a little more time?" Hope suggested gently.

"Maybe," she admitted. She wasn't sure time would make it any easier to translate whatever was going on in her head, but it was worth a shot. "It's nothing bad, though. I'm not upset or anything." She paused, and the next question had a lot more vulnerability in it than she was comfortable with. "Are you?"

"I am glad I could help you. And..." Hope paused for another long moment. "... you are a good friend, Topaz. Sharing what we did... it felt okay..."

Topaz was quiet for a long moment. Then, in what could only be a sign of another incoming apocalypse, she started giggling. Actually, honest to god, giggling. The last few days felt like a weird dream, complete with having sex with the person who could arguably be considered her best friend, if Topaz had any interest in labeling such things. She knew she didn't have any romantic feelings for Hope - she never had. But Hope had been one of the only constants in her life - while everyone was leaving and dying, Hope had been there. So yeah. This felt okay.

But Topaz had no damn way of trying to articulate any of that. So instead, she laughed.

Hope raised an eyebrow at her, but her voice was gentle as she asked: "I guess you are agreeing with me on it feeling okay? I do not think we have to get any further then that at the moment."

"Yeah," Topaz said when she gotten control of herself. "I'm agreeing. Breakfast?"

"Breakfast it is."
