Julian is still in shock over being in another Dimension and what he saw there. Tandy helps him out.
In his head, Julian knew that the water cascading down on him was at the very least lukewarm- but as it hit his skin, he couldn't help but shiver. Finally home after an exhaustive tour of another dimension- literally another dimension!- the scion was shaken to his core. He kept his eyes fixedly open, as every time he closed them, the mindless minions of that...thing, would appear to him. Slumped down in the shower, he couldn't focus- and the irritating whine of Nick outside the bathroom door was only making things worse.
Her voice broke Julian's trance-like state, "Um...yeah, fine." His voice quavered through the lie, and his muscles refused to respond to his desire to support it by standing up.
She grabbed a towel and walked further into the bathroom. The water was getting colder as she shut it off and draped the towel over him, "Wanna talk about it?"
"I..." he did want to talk about it, but part of him felt shame at the weakness he was now showing her. "No, I'm- I'm fine. Really." He tried to smile, pulling the towel around himself, but he was still shaking. "Really."
Tandy bite her lower lip knowing that he was trying to put on a brave face for her. "Wanna come out, I'll put on a fun movie and we can cuddle, eat, and drink to our hearts content?"
"Yeah, no, that...that sounds awesome," he nodded and tried to stand up. A few inches off the tile he slipped and landed back on his ass- eyes closing for a moment in pain, he was again in the other realm, with those things reaching towards him. Julian's eyes flew open and he jumped, falling sideways and correcting himself. Breathing heavily, he tried to regain control before he lost control of his telekinesis.
Tandy gave him a small smile as she stood up to leave the room. It was the sounds of falling that she turned her head to hear him breathing heavily. "Jules? What the hell did you see there?" She whispered the last question to herself and knelt down beside him, knowing if he lost control, she might get hurt in the process. "Hey, whatever happened, you are here now. I won't let anything get to you just like you won't let anything get to me."
Focusing on the pain from the fall, Julian forced his breathing back into a more normal pattern. "I don't have...your experience...with going...off world," he panted. "Those things- they just wouldn't stop. I mean, we-" a moment of clarity hit him and he realized what he was saying. "We were outnumbered. We made it back though," he grabbed onto Tandy's hand, "I'm okay."
She squeezed his metal hand that grabbed her, "The things we see. One would think we would have gotten used to the weird shit and suddenly, they throw something else at us." She reached over a kissed the side of his temple.
The human contact helped, and Julian brought their clasped hands up to his lips, giving a quick nod. "I...I don't know how you do it," he muttered, leaning against her.
"I have an awesome boyfriend who helps during the tough moments." She said with a slight smirk, "But honestly, I don't know how. I am human after all. Not superman."
"Of course you're not," Julian scoffed and gave her hand a gentle squeeze. "You're a trans-dimensional hero who generates light, fights evil, and has literally fought gods." His head turned and he softly bumped his forehead against Tandy's, "You're not Superman, you're Wonder Woman."
"Hey, you survived the end of the world. I would say that is a pretty impressive feat if I do say so myself. Granted this world seems to want to test us more often than naught, but I saw if we come home to our friends, family and each other - I would say that everything else can bite our shiny metal asses."
In truth, he'd only survived the great frankenberrycat by seconds, but the thought went untouched thanks to the practiced ignorance that had been drilled into him. "Yeah," he nodded and sighed, daring to close his eyes for a second...for some reason, Tandy's presence made the terror less than it had been. "How the hell did I get so lucky?"
"Because you decided to visit the roof top one night." Her smirk turned into a smile. "How is the butt?"
A big sigh and Julian nodded, "It's fine. Maybe better with food and Netflix?"
"I'll go and put pizza in the oven and let you finish up in here. Nick and Harley are also waiting patiently at the door."
