Clea and Cata visit Topaz.
Clea walked down the corridor towards Topaz's door and knocked gently. "Hi, Topaz. It's me, the adorable Clea. I know you are in there and I hope you are alright. I just wanted to let you know, that since you were really there for me in the Dark Dimension that I could maybe do the same for you." Putting her ear against the door to see if she could here anything.
Meanwhile, Cata had reached Topaz's window with a struggling army man in her mouth. The fae cat gentle scratched at the glass.
Topaz was still on the couch which she heard the knock, and was ready to tell Kurt to go away (again) when Clea spoke. She sat up, torn (she didn't want to ignore the kids), when the sound at the window drew her attention. "What the hell," she mumbled, bewildered, and went to let Cata in. The little cat hopped proudly into the suite, presenting Topaz with her gift, and she picked it up, a little surprised. Most of her animation spells, she had gathered, had gone dead when she had been out of the country. She wondered how this bloke had survived. "Where'd you get this?" She asked, as if Cata could answer.
Cata nudged at Topaz's hand as if asking for pets but she meowed in response to her question - almost like she was answering. The cat looked up and purred and rubbed against the girl again.
Through the door Clea smiled and spoke, "Good. She made it. Cata will stay with you for awhile, if that is alright. She has a fondess for both you and Midnight. Plus she was a little worried and was pacing down your hall while you were detained." Her ear still against the wall, "And maybe we could build a snowman when you come out? It doesn't have to be a snowman. I could make you a mince pie though."
That got the door a strange look. Topaz looked down at Cata, petting her gently. She should open the door. She should talk to Clea, at least to let her know everything was okay. But the idea of facing anyone right then was terrifying to her. She had used up all her energy for the day on Kurt. Still, she couldn't blow her off. "I'm okay, Clea," she finally called, just loud enough to be heard through the door. "Really."
Clea knew all too well when someone said they were alright after something bad happened to them, they weren't. "Okay. I am sorry. I don't know the details of what happened, but I am still sorry." She pulled herself away from the door and took a step back. Cata continued to purr, clearly enjoying the attention. "I'll be back later with some pie."
"It's okay. You didn't do anything wrong." Topaz was the screw up here. "Do you want your cat back?"
"I know. And no, I told Cata that you might want some cat cuddles. Everyone likes cat cuddles. And Midnight might enjoy the company as well. When you want her to go, just let her out through the window - or door."
"Door might be safer," Topaz said, still petting Cata gently. "...Thanks Clea."
"What are friends for."
