Alex needs something besides going boom and his fists to fight with. Thankfully, he works with a weapons expert. Backdated to May 6.

The shooting range was very... loud. Even with the muffs clamped over his ears. Of course it was loud, Alex thought as he tried to focus on the piece of paper in front of him. It was a freaking shooting range, what else did he expect? He fired off another shot. Not a great hit, but at least he'd gotten the paper every time.

Bobbi watched him as he fired, following the bullet's trajectory as it lanced through the target paper. It was better than missing the target altogether, but still not helpful in a real world situation unfortunately. Once he'd lowered the weapon, she indicated to her own headphones, gesturing for him to remove them before taking her own off.

"You're getting better, but you're still a little too rigid I think." She'd been watching his arm and, while it was fully extended, it seemed like Alex may have been holding it too tightly. "Want me to help?"

Alex pulled his headphones off, letting them hang on his neck. "Yeah, sure. S'just a little weird ya know? Like, a gun. Damn."

She moved to stand behind him, reaching her right arm out and lifting it up along with his. "You want to keep your arm fully extended, but with just a little give in it, like so.." Bobbi extended her own arm as she'd described to demonstrate what she meant.

Alex frowned, trying to recreate the position. She made it so natural. "Sooooooo like this?"

"That's better, yes," Bobbi commented, looking down both of their arms. She felt his forearm to see how stiff it was. "Loosen it just a bit more... then, when you're ready, take aim and try it out again." She stepped back and put her own headset back on, giving him some space.

Alex pulled his headset back on as well, wiggling his shoulders a bit to try and release some of the tension, and focusing on the target. His next shot was better - still not the bullseye, but at least further down the circle than the other holes.

She gave him a thumbs up and took her headset off again. "Did that feel any better? It looked like an improvement on this end."

"Yeah," Alex said, a bit surprised. "Before it kind of felt like..." He waved a hand, "I dunno, like I was fighting the gun? That's not the right word, but it felt more relaxed this time."

"Guns aren't for everyone, if you don't like it," she added before looking down the range at his target. "You did do much better though, so that's good." Bobbi wasn't sure how much Alex wanted to push himself on this but it was always good to see improvement.

"In an emergency it's good to know how to use one," Alex said, shrugging. "And, you know, legally be able to. I don't know if it's the thing I want to always have on me, ya know? I don't think I can even aim fast enough in that kind of situation."

"You made some good points there," Bobbi replied. "You're right, you don't have to always have to keep one on you, but it's good to know you could use one in a pinch if need be." She extended her hand in case he wished to return the weapon to her. "We can stop here for today, though I'm alright to continue or move on to anything else you'd like to work on, it's completely up to you."

"Think I'm good on this for today." Alex grinned, handing the gun back. "Any other thoughts on weapons, though? Maybe less shooty and more hitty? I guess I could go for a baseball bat, but that's not really professional. I mean, I know our boss walks around the mansion naked, but I aim a little higher than that bar."

She snickered at the naked comment, biting her lip not to add anything too personal on that tangent even if she had tons of stories she could share. "Well, I can help you there as well, just not here," Bobbi said, gesturing around the firing range. "Staff, batons, battle staves in particular, just say the word. A baseball bat might not be, as you said, 'professional,' but we could work with that too if you'd like."

"That'd be awesome," Alex said honestly. "Ya know, something easy to carry and easy to use. That won't blow up buildings."

"Battle staves it is." Bobbi grinned, going with her weapon of choice. "They won't blow up any buildings but, used properly, you could fight your way through a building or two." She'd definitely made her way through enough people in her past to vouch for that.

"Sounds great." Alex was trying to reign in the excitement. "Shall we get going, then?"

"Absolutely." Bobbi cleared the chamber and removed the clip of the gun before they headed for the exit. "Though I'm afraid I have to insist we get a bite to eat before returning home. Somewhere that has breadsticks." Because now she had a craving for them because the stick talk, and shh, her brain was weird, ok? Plus she was hungry.

"I'll never say no to food." Alex said sagely. "To the breadsticks!"
