Molly waits for Topaz to come back so she can give her some exciting news.

The sun was starting to get a little low, casting long shadows. Molly had been sitting in the rec room for most of the day, waiting. She'd gotten through quite a bit of Overwatch and grabbed some food a few times, but never got too far away from the door.

Finally, the door opened, and Molly spotted a familiar head of hair coming in.

"Hi!" Molly said, bounding over the couch as she tackled her with a hug.

"You're home!"

Topaz was the picture of oblivious as she let herself in, finishing up the game on her phone that had kept her occupied for the last hour of the trip home. She refused to admit to Ty that the visit hadn't been that bad, so of course the solution was to shut down completely.

"Whoa!"

Unprepared as she was, she was nearly bowled over Molly, stumbling to keep herself upright and catching Molly with one arm. "Blimey, hullo," she said, patting Molly's back. "It's good to see you too?"

Molly grinned. "Totally! I'm glad you're the right person this time," she said, then stepped back, rocking back and forth on her heels to burn off some nervous energy.

"So...I have some news. Do you...would you have time to sit down?" she said, motioning to the rec room.

The nerves and the excitement were rolling off Molly in waves. Topaz raised an eyebrow. "Yeah, sure, I'm not doing anything." She tucked her phone into her pocket and dropped her bag from her shoulder to her hand, following Molly to the rec room. "What's up?"

Molly motioned for Topaz to sit, then she herself sat down. Then she was up again, pacing a little before sitting down again.

"Sooo...Remember how you helped me write those letters for colleges?" she said.

"Well...I...turned them in. And..." She bit her lip.

"I got in. To...like...all of them."

Topaz watched Molly, waiting patiently. At her news, she smiled. "Yeah? That's amazing, congratulations. I told you you could do it." The I told you so seemed warranted.

Molly smiled back, then shrugged. "It's just like...totally unreal, y'know? I mean....yeah," she said. Reaching behind the couch cushions, she pulled out a cellophane covered bag.

"Anyway, I got you a thing. To say thanks."

"It shouldn't be, you're brilliant," Topaz said simply. She was caught off guard by the presentation of the gift. "Oh..." she wasn't good at this part. "Really, I was happy to help. Besides, you did all the hard work. I just told you how to BS it."

"But if you hadn't then I wouldn't have turned them in so..." Molly said with a smile.

"You're the first one I told."

Something akin to happiness and pride welled in Topaz' chest; she honestly didn't have a good response to that. "Like I said, I was happy to help," she finally settled for, mindlessly unwrapping the bag. There was a small box, and in the box was a silver moon charm on a chain.

"It's a friendship necklace," Molly said, tugging at a gold chain hidden underneath her shirt to reveal a gold sun charm.

"I got one too."

Topaz looked up at Molly's necklace, then back at the one in the box, tracing the charm with her finger. "It's beautiful, Molly," she said quietly, a smile pulling at her lips. It was small, but honest, and happy. "Thank you." She put the box down, taking the necklace out to hook it around her neck.

Molly grinned as brightly as what the sun charm represented. "You're welcome," she said, pleased as punch that she made her happy.

"I'm thinking of accepting at Empire State University. They have an awesome robotics and engineering program."

"Yeah?" Topaz hooked the latch and leaned back against the couch, settling back. "You said they had big labs, right?"

Molly nodded. She grabbed a pillow, muffling a squee-noise. "I took a tour of them last week. Once you get further into the program you get to share a lab and keep your stuff there. So if you add that one and the one I have here it's like labapalooza!" she said, biting her lip.

"AND Tony Stark sometimes does seminars."

"That sounds absolutely brilliant." Topaz tilted her head, frowning. "That's the iron bloke, right?"

Molly squinted with confusion, then it hit her. "Oh! Bloke means dude...Yeah! Iron Dude--Man," she said, then proceeded to go through all the details of the program.
