Natasha finds herself on the receiving end of an unconventional recruitment speech.

Wanda, of course, brought bribes with her. It was morning-ish, still, when she found Natasha and she held up a carafe of good coffee in one hand and a box of assorted muffins, donuts and such in the other. "Just the person I've been looking for," she said, wiggling the items in her hands slightly. "Do you have time for a quick chat and breakfast? I promise they are from an actual good bakery, best in town. Or so Yelp has led me to believe."

Natasha turned in surprise when Wanda found her. "Oh? What can I help you with?" Natasha arched an eyebrow in bemusement. "I have little on my schedule right now and coffee is a thing I rarely turn down." She owed Wanda a debt of gratitude for her part in her rescue and for not pushing as she'd spent far more time than she'd expected after coming to the mansion reestablishing her resources.

"I have excellent timing then!" Smiling, Wanda unloaded her goodies near them so her hands were free before grabbing a chair. From her purse, she produced two paper cups which were both filled with coffee before she said anything more. "Good to know. While I'm not sure I can replicate your trick with the drinks from a while back - coming through the window that one time was priceless - I'll try to see what I can do."

She pulled out an adjoining chair and caught a waft of the goodies being offered. They did smell delicious and her stomach growled in response. She grinned. "That was definitely a moment of most opportune timing. Not sure I could've pulled that off any better. He'd only brought it upon himself for being so careless with his liver."

"Poor Clint," Wanda laughed, absolutely not feeling sorry, at all. She still relished the memory of the several times Natasha menacing Clint through Wanda. Good times. "He's hilariously fun to tease especially since he gives as good as he gets."

"Mmhm, that's part of the reason we work so well." Natasha reached for one of the coffee cups and flipped up the box's lid to take a peek inside. "Those look absolutely delicious. But you mentioned you had something to discuss?"

Wanda was busy doctoring her own coffee while Natasha looked at the various baked good options. "Oh yes because a bribe is only a bribe if there's something to lure you into." Smiling, she leaned back in her chair, warming her hands on her cup. "I could be coy about it but, honestly, that means more talking, less eating of donuts. So, I'm here to see if you'd like to be recruited."

Natasha had inhaled a delighted sip of coffee then cocked an eyebrow at Wanda's words. "Recruited? I thought your team was rather well staffed as it was." Her mutations weren't exactly helpful in that regard. However, she was an excellent spy and there were few people that would dispute that.

"It is, absolutely. My team is amazing but we stay amazing and, ah, alive, by keeping our edge." Wanda took a sip of her coffee and then leaned forward to snag a double chocolate donut. She figured she could burn off the calories the next time she had to run for her life. "I'm far from stupid, Nat. You're damn talented and I like you, a fantastic combination. But this isn't a pressured sales pitch - I'm just seeing if you're interested."

She chuckled. "Oh, is that a hard combination to come by? I do have to admit I've been at loose ends for a fair longer period of time than I ever expected after you all unceremoniously fished me out from under Kronos' clutches." The rage Natasha had toward that incident had turned into an icy ball buried inside her. One day there was going to be hell to pay.

Wanda nodded as she drank some coffee and ate a bit of donut. "Strangely we seem to attract quite a large number of talented people that I quite enjoy. But I also enjoy a good scotch and that's not something I'd take on a mission with me." She paused. "Well, I suppose it depends on the mission perimeters. But you get it. Not everyone is cut out for the things we've done, no matter how talented. As for timing, now seems as good a time as any. If you're bored, I am sure we could keep you more than occupied.

It'd be good to be part of a team again. Clint's unofficial official one had been nice but there were too many untested players. They'd handled themselves well but she'd felt more like a liability than a strength to them. "I'm definitely interested. I've heard interesting things about the rest of your team and I'm curious to see everyone in action. Along with what kinds of missions you deal with on a regular basis."

"You're more than welcome to come and visit us at Snow Valley to try to get a better feel," Wanda offered, feeling pleased. They had an excellent team at the moment but Natasha was incredibly skilled. They'd be stupid to pass it up if Nat was actually interested, which it seemed she was. "Trust me when I tell you those interesting things you've heard are probably very, very true."

"I definitely shall. How formal does one have to be about visits?" If Natasha remembered right, Clint had simply wandered in and stated an emergency the last time he'd visited. It seemed a casual enough place if one didn't know the truth behind its operations. "Not much of an oddity around here it seems. Though it'd likely expand my experience."

"If it's not an emergency visit, just give me a call. We're not terribly formal about those kinds of things but better to make sure we're there and not out and about before you trek down to the office."

"Then I might just make come down for a visit next week. The sooner I'm less at loose ends the better for everyone involved I think."

Wanda smiled, feeling rather smug and pleased with herself. “Especially Clint, I think. We’ll still make sure you have enough time to tease him as much as you’d like.”
