Logan and Rogue take a moment to relax and reflect.

Logan dropped into the deck chair next to Rogue with a soft sigh. They hadn't done much that day but it always seemed like the days were tiring. He offered her one of the beers in his hands, her favorite, as he took a sip of his own before leaning back in his seat. "Ya know, that campin' trip still makes me wonder. Seemed too convenient for things to just be nobody poachers."

From her sunny spot (he always gave her first pick of the chairs), she opened one eye and peeked at him. Accepting the beer gratefully, she took a slow sip. His attention to detail was both a curse and a blessing, but damn it that man didn't have a long memory (and yes, she appreciated the irony of that).

"Jesus... are you still on that, babe? How would they have known we were coming though?" She reached up and shifted her sunglasses. "Wait -- do you know something I don't?"

He shook his head. "Wasn't about them knowin' we were comin'. More about what the hell they were doin' out there in the first place. Just didn't feel like a simple operation." The poachers had had too many people working together and what seemed to Logan like too many resources. He might be being paranoid. Being a part of the Mansion for these many years did lead one to be overly suspicious but then again he might not be wrong.

Rogue thought back to their spring break and tried to think about that time. To be fair, she spent a lot of it drunk, and enjoyed the minor pranks they'd pulled on the poachers. God, she missed Kitty. "Okay, well let's look at this." She sat up and pushed her sunglasses on top of her head. "The cabin is set up under my real name, which like no one knows." She paused. "Okay, some know, but I don't know that they'd put the two of us together. Second, although we kinda planned the trip, it was pretty last minute. We don't have caretakers, so we didn't have to notify anyone." She gave him a smug look. "See? Paranoid! No one knew we were there."

She took a sip of her beer and then almost choked. "Wait! Holy shit, we had to let the ranger know though, right? I totally forgot that because I totally forgot to let him know even though I told you we did and then I ...might have made a phone from the gas station in Toronto..." Maybe Logan wasn't the crazy one. "You think he would've told someone??"

Logan shrugged. "Not sure why unless he was already in with any folks that might be after us." There really wasn't much to go on and there probably wasn't anything to it all. "Just feels like they're too quiet for this kind of world. Folks can only be so discreet."

"Uh uh." Rogue shook her head. If there was one thing she loved more than anything, it was a good mystery. Curiousity would absolutely be her downfall one day. "Nah babe, there's gotta be something. You're right. I mean, when has anything in our lives been just a coincidence?" She pulled down her sunglasses and gave him a look . "Maybe we should go back? I mean, I don't start my new job for another month or so, we have time... we didn't really poke around much, since we were all occupied."

He returned her look with an even gaze. "Might not be a bad idea to head back and look around. Could pretend we're wantin' to check up on the cabin. We should also start diggin' info wise and see what comes up. If they're still around and operatin', someone somewhere will have heard of them."

She blew him a kiss. "A camping trip with my favourite man in the world to our favourite place in the world? Like ya have to convince me, baby." She tilted her beer and took a sip. "When you thinking of going then? We could probably take off this weekend, it's supposed to be good weather. Snoop around there for a while and y'know, if we can't find anything? Then we got ourselves some peace and quiet, and you know I'll never say no to that."

"That'd be fine by me. Hopefully nothing'll happen while we're gone, what with the school year starting up soon and all." Logan reached over to squeeze her arm. "We should get what relaxin' in while we can and the sooner we go the fewer people we'll see. Especially since Labor Day weekend's comin' up soon."

"Whatever you want." She finished her beer and got up to sit down on his lap. "As long as we're together, I'm happy." She leaned in and gave him a quick kiss and a nuzzle to the nose. She had the 7 seconds down to a science at this point.

He wrapped his arms around her in a hug that turned into a loose hold as he leaned into the brief kiss. He was in a good place in his life. One he never expected to find. Now to put to bed this feeling that wouldn't let him go. "Let's get it done with this weekend then."
