Week 5 | Lorna In Charge
Oct. 1st, 2018 09:32 amIt's Lorna's turn to where the boss cap. Alex is... sort of helpful with the rules?
"So what're the rules, boss lady?" Alex asked with a grin as he followed Lorna into the office. The board was blank once more, waiting for the new boss. "And remember, you're not the only one who would get to enjoy 'Alex is only allowed to wear a thong' so think hard."
Lorna looked over at her husband, "I don't think it will scare off our clients but I prefer to have 'Alex in a thong' to myself." She walked up to the whiteboard and wrote the first rule, 'Don't be late.' "Too generic?"
"Yeah, come on, you gotta be a little better than that." Alex gave her a nudge. "I mean, mine were pretty simple too, but there was at least some fun. Get crazy."
Lorna pressed her lips together as she thought about it but decided to move on to number two: 'Team lunch instead of eating at your desk. Leaving 11:45 sharp.' "How is that one?"
"Going for team building?" Alex asked, tilting his head. "Everyone will hate it. Do it."
Smirking at her husband before turning towards the board and writing down rule number three: 'Mandatory Team Building on Friday Afternoon.'. "I won't tell them what it is, but I think we should do an escape the room."
"Oooooooooooooh, that'd be awesome. Do you think it's close enough to Halloween we could find a legit scary one? Or I guess we could just like, make one person scream and scare the hell out of the rest of them. Who do you think is the easiest to scare and won't be able to throw us into a wall with their minds or punch a tooth out?"
"I am sure there are scary ones. I am not going to answer that...but probably Warren." Lorna stepped away from the board and nodded before putting the lid back on. "And afterwards we can go out for drinks! I'll make sure teen friendly."
Damnit, he knew it was a mistake to tell Lorna how much he hated haunted houses and being scared. He could handle shitty movies with Jubilee but more because he didn't want her knowing that either. Glaring at Lorna, he walked over to the board with a marker and wrote next to the team building "PG-13". "We can't have the drinks be Maya friendly and not the activity. That would be unfair."
"No no no...I am the boss." She erased the PG-13. "Mexican food then."
"Also Maya's like, seventeen," Alex pointed out. "If she can get into R-rated movies, she can handle a haunted house escape room."
"She's emotionally 7, so." Warren rolled his eyes, but he knew he'd lost. Oh well. He'd just not show up. Wasn't that the point of quitting? No more shitty team building events that he loved to do because they reminded him he was part of a team and whatever, nope, wasn't going to think about that. Fuck them all. "Whatever."
"You'll be fine Warren. You'll have several other people there to hold your hand. And I think you should give Maya more credit." Lorna nodded. "Alright. Rules have been set. Who wants Chinese?"
