Morningstar - Plans
Nov. 18th, 2018 09:13 pmA plan is hatched to get Warren back.
Black was starting to came back in streaks in Kevin’s hair and the signs of both the severe beating and the forced aging were starting to disappear. He’d stopped back in his abandoned residence long enough to change clothes, trading his ruined, bloodstained clothing for a clean suit.
“So, Worthington fucked up something spectacular, despite my best efforts. And now, he is likely going to be killed or exiled into a demon dimension, which is a truly fucked up thing to have to say while being serious. Normally, I’d be fine with that, but because of how this sex demon works, everyone who was close to Warren, for whatever ungodly reasons you possibly have for that, are at risk to have her magically hotwire your souls through that connection for whatever purposes she wants. And that is a bad thing.”
Drumming her nails against her coffee cup, Felicia made a small noise of agreement. "Except for him, anyway. He'd be on his own for this one otherwise," she said flatly, flicking her gaze up to Kevin with a sharp, daring look, then back to the group. "And I double checked with the girl from this Limbo place. Souls are super real, apparently, which. Sucks."
Miles sat on the wall, the height helping to alleviate some of the terror of impending doom, and raised his hand. "Is there, like, a counterspell or something Amanda could whip up? Preferably without Warren having to have sex with her, too? Because I don't think she'd go for that."
"But, boy, wouldn't it be fun to see him try..." Gabriel said flatly. Staring at his feet, he let out a big sigh. "For the record, I hate so much of this," he finally said, looking up. "I cannot believe," he looked directly at Kevin, his voice steady, "that you come back from god-only-knows-where after god-only-knows-how-long, and this is what you want me to help with. And that I'm actually going to do it, even if it means doing something nice for a person who might be fifth on my most-hated list."
He finally broke his gaze, scanning the rest of the group. "You all are so lucky I like the rest of you so much." Gabriel's voice suggested anything but. "But if this plan involves going back to Limbo," he cast a glance at Miles, "I'm sorry, but I'm fucking out."
"No, no Limbo. We need to cut whatever Satanna has in mind off before it gets that far. And while my plan would normally to be getting the X-Men to reduce the place to rubble, Satanna made it clear that through Warren, she can pull in the people he's got the closest emotional ties to down with him. So, we stick with those people. Miles, go get any of Warren's friends who are willing to help. Meet us at this address. Gabe, you and I have a stop to make before we get there."
