After questioning a hapless soldier who stumbled out of his tent, the group now knows they've somehow ended up on the beaches below the city of Troy during the Trojan War. The question now becomes how do they get back to their own reality?
Logan was pretty sure the soldier he'd just knocked out wouldn't wake up for a long while. He'd made sure their presence in the camp wouldn't be given away by tying and gagging him. He also tied the flap of the tent shut just to make it more difficult for anyone to go inside. He stood near the opening and gazed at the armor and weapons laid out there then hefted a shield. He pulled the shield in front of him to see how much coverage it gave then glanced at the others. "Ya think this is some Danger Room scenario gone sideways? If it is, how're we gonna get back to the Mansion?"
"Maybe it has something to do with the mess about to go down here? Need to see it through the end or something?" Sharon guessed. "Most of the scenarios’ have us solve some kind of issue and then we're done."
Clea looked down at the scene below and thought about their currently predicament. "Probably." She responded to Sharon's guess.
Ty, no stranger to suddenly finding himself in mythology, clapped his hands together. "I so want to get my hands on some of these weapons. Maybe see how they're made if we have a chance."
“You mean, like we’re just here to make sure all the events go the way they’re supposed to go,” Meggan realized. If it was all just one of many scenarios, would Ty even be able to discover what a weapon was composed of? Or would something be wrong with the facsimile?
"Perhaps", Kurt said, unsure. "Although things in the original event - so far as we know - turned out right without our involvement, if this is a scenario, anything might have been changed."
Logan nodded in agreement. "I agree. Don't think we can assume anything other than the general situation, if that's even a good thing to assume. And don't think we're gonna have much time for sight-seein'. Best to get things finished as soon as possible just to be sure we can get out of this. Way I see it, some of us should go make sure that Troy gets breached and then the others should go provide a distraction just in case. Thoughts?"
Sharon studied the high walls and sturdy gate with a thoughtful look on her face. "Kurt, I don't know that much about your powers. Can you get some of us to the other side of the gate?"
Kurt thought a moment, then shook his head. "Not unless I could climb the wall to see over. It would be too dangerous."
Ty raised his hand tentatively. "It's an overcast night, I can sneak Kurt around enough to get a good lay of the land. Shouldn't take too long."
"I'd say go for it. We need the intelligence." Sharon nodded in agreement, then turned to Logan. "If we're gonna be sneaking around the gate, we kinda need the army in front of us not to interfere. What'd you think?"
"You said exactly what I was thinkin'." Logan wasn't certain what Sharon's abilities were, but from how she talked he figured she knew how to handle herself. "How 'bout the two of us provide a distraction while the others work on gettin' through the wall?"
"Sounds like a plan to me. It'd have to be a good show to draw their attention." Scanning the camp, she added: "Think we could liberate one of the horses? I've an idea."
"We could probably make it work," Logan said. "Hopefully find more weapons and armor along the way too, 'cause yeah, we're gonna need to be big and flashy for this to work."
"Or dark and shadowy, as the case may be", Kurt said with a flash of a smile. "Clea, would you come with us, in case more help is required?"
"Sure." Clea nodding finally coming back to the conversation. "Should we get going?"
Meggan nodded. ”That might be best,” she agreed.
"Alright... Logan, me thinks we two go look for that armor." Sharon smiled briefly at the others. "Good luck."
Logan hoped this wouldn't end badly for either group. He nodded at the others. "See ya on the other side."
