Meanwhile, Tara’s body is hauled away to be transported back to her Inquisitor father.
“Why didn’t they just drag her to the incinerator?” The Stormtrooper groused as they set up the gurney.
“Body is going to Coruscant on that shuttle. They don’t want it damaged further.”
“I saw the orders, but why? I mean-“
“You really want to ask a lot of questions about a dead rebel Force user killed during a break-in?” The second one said as he bent to grab Tara’s arms. “Because that’s a great way for IntSec to wonder why you care at all."
The limp body was tossed unceremoniously onto the gurney before the first Stormtrooper pulled off the blaster on her hip. Depending on the quality, it would either be turned in or kept.
A press of the button and the gurney started to move between the two, keeping pace as they marched along the corridor. They went through two blast doors and turned a corner before coming to a stop in front of one that needed a passcode.
"I hate new code day," one grumbled as the other one plugged in the number.
"Got it in one," came the smug reply, the gurney sliding forward again.
Only to come to a halt halfway through door. They both groaned and glanced back down at it. "Piece of cr - fuck!"
A wave of pure Force rolled off Tara's body as her eyes snapped open and it slammed into the two Stormtroopers with enough force to cause cracks in one of their chest plates. They hit the sides of the blast door and bounced off into the hall ahead of them.
A little unsteady, Tara rolled off the gurney. The Stormtroopers were struggling to get to their feet but one of them was smart enough to simply start shooting from where he was.
With one hand, Tara deflected them easily and with the other...
She'd left the Sith life, had left the training because she had seen the path her father had put her on and had wanted nothing to do with it. But it didn't take away those skills and that training - and it didn't take away the fact that she'd been quite good at it.
Force Lightning put a quick, if painful, end to the Stormtroopers.
Tara let out a long sigh but she didn't look down as she stalked around the bodies, allowing the Force to guide her steps. It wasn't far beyond the door they'd come in, down a dead end hallway.
She paused in front of a door and placed her hand on the keypad set into the wall next to it. A moment of thought and it exploded in a shower of sparks with the door sliding open seconds later.
Her senses were singing as she approached another series of containment units but there was no hesitation this time. There was only one thing in that room that was calling to her.
In minutes she had it yanked out of the unit and in her hand - the holocron pulsed slightly with red light in the palm of her hand. The opposite in all things to the other one.
Tucking it into a pouch in her robes, Tara turned and started to race towards the vent opening she'd made a note of in the hallway.
