Terry takes it upon herself to track down Angelo and introduce herself. (Backdated)

Since it was sitting unused, Angelo had taken up working in his old office again, both for his day job and the less legal things he did for the Underground.

Not many people knew about that, so he was surprised to hear a knock at the door. "Uh... hi?"

Terry nudged the door open a little with her foot, then entered the office hands-first, as she said, "I come bearin' pasties for lunch. Meat and cheese and mushroom, or the more traditional potatoes and carrots and peas and with gravy. I'm Terry, by the way, Terry Cassidy-Rourke. Moira told me I ought t'speak with you, once I'd settled in a bit. Oh, and I brought a salad."

This got a few seconds of blinking, for two or three different reasons, then jokingly narrowed eyes.

"Hi, Terry, nice to meet you. Have you been talking to Sooraya?"

"Aye, a bit," Terry said, grinning now. "But she didn't say a word about what food y'like."

"Yeeeah, I was thinking more of her telling people I need to be reminded to eat." He leaned back in his chair with a grin in response. "I'll take either of those, so which do you like best?"

"Och, well," Terry said, nudging the door shut behind herself before approaching Angelo's desk. "This's just how I like t'introduce m'self. Food-first, if y'will. Personally, I'm a fan o'the mushrooms. But there're a few of each, so we can share 'em, if y'like. Hope y'don't mind water t'drink." She sat the basket she'd entered with on a part of his desk that he'd not covered in papers, unpacking it quickly and efficiently. Napkins, silverware, a few bottles of water, and then the containers with the food -- breathable ones for the pasties, so they didn't get damp with their own steam, and a larger, plastic one for the salad. "The salad's just got some olive oil and lemon juice on it. Hope that's alright, too?"

"Sounds delicious", he said easily. "All of it, so it's a pretty good way to introduce yourself. Water's fine."

"Lovely," Terry said, handing over a fork and a knife wrapped up in a napkin. "Now, t'the real question -- how'd y'feel about makin' this a bit o' a workin' lunch? Might need a more proper introduction for all that."

"Well, we're in the right place for it." He started unwrapping the cutlery. "Why, are you looking for a job? I should warn you X-Corps is dormant for now."

"Och, no. No' at all," Terry said, pulling up one of the chairs from in front of the desk so she could sit across from him as they ate. "Sooraya knew a bit about me, since Moira's mentioned someone'd be about to help fundraising for Muir. That's about the whole o'that. But when I mentioned Moira told me t'speak with you, I meant specifically regardin' a particular avenue o'interest I think we both share. Namely, helpin' mutants get out o'bad situations." Her eyebrows rose pointedly at that, even as she held out a plate for him.

He stretched out to accept it.

"That definitely is one of my major areas of interest. I take it you did... similar work in Ireland?"

"Aye," Terry agreed, nodding as she opened the containers of food and sat them within easy reach for both of them. "Since I was about 14 or so. I came into m'powers a wee bit young. Just so happened m'grandda was involved with movin' people t'better places and knew Moira. M'da helped as well, as best he could." Then she waved her hand and stuck a serving spoon in the salad before using her fork to swipe one of the pasties with mushrooms in it onto her plate. "M'job's fundraising. I just take make sure that the places the donations end up are also places that help certain things I'm interested in helpin'. And sometimes t'manage that, I've got to be a little morally grey, if y'know what I mean."

He started serving himself a share of food as well. "If the law's wrong, sometimes it needs to be broken. So yeah, I know what you mean."

"Lovely," Terry said, spooning salad onto her plate as well, after giving it a good stir. "I'm halfway speakin' on behalf o' my friends in the UK, no' just Ireland. They've seen what's been happenin' here, how things've gotten... more difficult over the past several years. Operations've slowed down if they haven't outright stopped -- that's correct, isn't it?"

"Pretty much. That's why X-Corps is dormant, it just isn't a good environment for it to operate in right now. I'm still hoping one day we can revive it, but things need to change some before that can happen."

"You've still got connections though, aye? If you're comfortable tellin' me, I'd like t'know how extensive those are. And, in an effort t'make sure the donations I'll be collectin' in the future go t'the proper sorts o'places, I'm hopin' y'can give me a few recommendations for who t'speak to here."

"I can definitely do that. But the connections here..." He took a mouthful, thinking of what to say. "Nobody knows too many other people involved with moving people to better places, in case somebody gets arrested. So I don't actually know how extensive it is, country-wide."

Nodding along as she chewed her own food, Terry reached for one of the water bottles and opened it, then drank after swallowing her mouthful of pasty. "Let's no' look at it so broadly for the moment -- countrywide, I mean. I'd like t'address that eventually, but gettin' a good foundation set first is always important. So locally... d'you have anyone in any o'the local religious organizations who's friendly? That's often a good way to despurse plain monetary donations -- though charities and the like that also help out mutants."

Angelo nodded. "Yeah, now you mention it. The uncle of one of the kids here" - not that Tandy was really a kid any more - "is a priest in New York. He runs a soup kitchen and a few things on the side. And I've got connections in the Mexican community, Mama Lupe might be able to help some as well."

"Excellent," Terry said, outright beaming as she speared a radish and a carrot with some lettuce with her fork. She pointed at Angelo with it as she said, "If you're alright introducing me, I'd appreciate it. Or you can be the go-between to set things up, I don't mind. We've a similar setup in the UK, where people don't really know how things and people get from one place t'another. Keeps everyone safe."

Angelo grinned back at her. "Sure, I'll introduce you. But you can expect Mama to decide you're too skinny and make you eat with her before she'll get down to business."

Looking down at the spread before them, Terry chuckled. "That's... a tactic I'm well comfortable with." Then she grew a little more serious as she asked, "Have y'anyone here who can set up shell corporations and false identities? That sort of thing? Good with electronics and the like?"

"Oh yeah." His grin widened. "I know just the guy. The best hacker you're ever likely to meet."

Terry finally ate her bite of salad off her fork, then went in for another bite of pasty. "I think, Mister Espinosa, that we're goin' t'have a very productive workin' relationship."

"I do hope so, Ms Cassidy-Rourke", he said easily. "'Cause we need all the help we can get."
