Just one more errand left to do…

After this morning's incident with the magical appearing letter, Clea had been on high alert. She couldn't shake the feeling that it was a bad omen. To keep her mind occupied she was at her desk when Cata hissed at the door and she then felt the magic behind it. "Guys!" Was all that Clea had time to say when the door flew off its hinges towards Clea's desk. Casting a shield spell, Clea was able to keep the door from doing damage. From the opening, in stepped an armored women and two others that followed behind her. The room got cold quickly as she felt darkness seeping in.

"It's considered polite to make an appointment first." Kevin came out of his office firing, hitting the woman three times in the chest, to apparently no effect. "Fuck." He muttered, switching his aim to another figure, hoping that bullet proof wasn't a shared trait amongst this new opposition.

Artie stepped out from one of the side offices into the main foyer. He'd waited a moment before coming out to work an illusion across the back of the office, everything behind Kevin and Clea screened with a layer of 'ain't nothing to see here', including himself, still behind the screen. He worked around the edge of the room, weapon raised but not shooting yet as Kevin was already making it clear that wasn't a particularly helpful option. Still invisible, he watched a moment longer and then aimed and fired as well.

Tandy waited until she didn't hear any more firing before appearing behind the armored female. "Give me 30 seconds and I'll have that damned staff," she said to the male beside her. "Some cover please?"

Cul was happy to oblige. It seemed like everyone here had guns, which he was amused by. So, these were the heroes Dweller's avatar had talked about. Sure, they'd caused him problems but this? This seemed useless. Bullets came towards him and he teleported out of the way, appearing directly behind the original shooter. A gleaming knife came out of his pocket and with a quick slash to the back, Cul moved back to where he was before, frowning at the blood that was now on his hand.

Disgusting.

"We don't have much time, Dweller."

"Just do it fast," Skirn tossed her hammer into the air, the heavy weapon spinning slowly before she caught it in her other hand, twirling around on a foot almost as if she were dancing. "We'll hold them off, just don't dawdle, we've got more important things to do and I'm bored," she turned, stepping closer to Dweller as she reached out a hand to stroke her cheek, a grin spreading across her lips as her trailing hand fell down to the woman's neck, just resting there for a moment before she stepped back and dusted off her hands, "And you wouldn't want to see me bored would you, darling?"

Artie made a split second decision and opened the door to Emma's office, her seldom used Snow Valley one. An illusionary figure stepped out, sparking and diamond and behind her, were Amanda and Marie-Ange. Clear threats, visible, armed and Amanda held a ball of glowing energy in one hand ready to spellcast. He had a moment where the intruders attention shifted but he wasn't quite down with shooting Tandy in the leg. Yet.

Kevin shifted towards the corner, wincing from the knife wound that had been scored across his back. Fortunately, it only took a second to close off the blood flow and restitch the muscles to minimize the damage, even if it still hurt like anything. Bullets weren't working and while Artie's illusion was a nice touch, any second they'd go through them like smoke. Unless there was a little more confusion involved.

As Tandy headed for the room, Kevin caught the fire extinguisher with a shot, and the pressurized contents spewed forth in a heavy spray, engulfing the three invaders in a thick, white cloud.

A simple portal later, and they were out of the thick chemical smoke, although Cul still was coughing. Pathetic. He'd forgot how weak human bodies truly were.

"Dweller..." He growled in her direction before portalling her back to the original spot. they were running out of time.

Tandy held up a hand as she coughed at the smoke. "Enough!" Her eyes opened to be black, almost moving as the smoky form of Dweller seemed to stir inside his avatar. Lifting both her hands and swinging them down in an arc to unleash her daggers towards the small group of humans. She began to walk quickly through the office and unleashed more daggers at any who tried to stop her.

Unfortunately, Clea had been on the receiving end as she went down as one of the daggers pierced her skin and then faded.

Kevin dragged her into the cover of a doorway, emptying the rest of his clip as he did so. The wound looked shallow, which was an impressive magic trick considering how hard the blades had been thrown. He pressed his handkerchief to the wound to stop the bleeding.

"We've got people down! Anyone got any bright ideas other than quickly dying?"

Dying slowly was still on the cards. He didn't want to shoot Tandy and went for light, instead, and triggered the sprinklers. There was more than one exit to the building. Artie flashed a code to Kevin and Clea - "Burrito!" or 'fuck it! we're outnumbered and outgunned and need to regroup safely in Safehouse 3.' It was better than pizza party, since that started with the assumption that they could fight their way out.

Skirn wiped a hand across her face, dashing away the tears the harsh chemicals had left on her face as she glared at the room, she wasn't sure she was more angry at, the person who had set of the fire extinguisher, or the person who had dragged them here in the first place. "This. Is. Gettin. Boring." As she spoke the woman hefted her hammer in her hands, slamming it down onto the floor, the thud of the impact lifting a cloud of dust and particles that traveled away from her in a wave, heralding the shockwave as a spiderweb of cracks appeared on the floor beneath her. The shockwave picked up and threw down desks, cubicle walls, filing cabinets... and the defenders. The dust drifted down on several silent forms, half-buried under the debris.

Tandy disappeared into the back room and located the safe, the staff which was bane of Dweller’s existence. Ripping the safe door open, Dweller saw a number of magical items and tomes but left them be in favor of the staff. Picking it up, she walked back out to where Cul and Skirn were waiting. "Let's go."
