Molly goes with Sharon to pick up medical supplies and they come upon a crime in progress. Naturally, they take care of it.
"Forgot to say, thanks for tagging along. Together we'll get the stuff loaded a whole lot quicker then if I was going at it on my own." Sharon said as she shifted the large van into it's parking lot.
Molly grinned. "No problem! I've got magic muscles, after all. Well--I mean not, LITERAL magic but...you know what I mean," she said, squinting thoughtfully. "So how much do we gotta grab and are there a lot of people around? We might need to be sneaky."
"It's all completely above table, so no need for sneaking around." Sharon had to grin. "It's just that they were having issues delivering and since I had the time of, I offered to come out in pick it up. I think it's about twenty, thirty boxes total."
"Oh! No I meant....y'know, me picking up a bunch of boxes like it's nothing," Molly said, shrugging. "Kinda looks weird to the muggles. But if we did need to do spy stuff I was so down."
"Only boring stuff." Sharon quickly jumped down from the cab, orienting herself to where the medical supply depot was. As she scanned her surroundings, a frown appeared on her face and it quickly deepened as she took in how quiet it was... too quiet.
"Molly? Get back in the van." She moved to do so herself.
Molly blinked, quickly backing up. "Why? What's goin' on?" she said.
Sharon didn't have a chance to reply, because there were several loud pops and two cars came tearing around the corner. Instinct had her diving for the ground, yelling at Molly. "One big cluster fuck... that's what's going on!" She was interrupted when two more cars came tearing around the corner.
Though Molly knew a bullet would bounce off of her like a rock against a wall, she also knew it wouldn't do the same for Sharon. So she got in front of her instead, just in case the bullets ricocheted their way. "If it's a stupid gang war they're gonna kill somebody. We gotta stop em."
"Easier said then done." Sharon peeked around the car, trying to take in the situation as much as possible. "This is no gang war. Those three cars are chasing the first one, trying to surround it. Must be something they want in the first one."
"Okay..." Molly said, clenching her fist. "I can slow 'em down then...somehow?" She glanced around. "Crap. I wish I brought a mask with me."
"Let's see..." Sharon peeked into the backseat of the van and she quickly reached over when she saw something in a bright pink. Pulling it closer, it turned out to be some kind of children's scarf, covered with pictures of Miffy. Briefly wondering how it had ended up in the van, she balled it up and tossed it over to Molly.
Molly quirked a brow at the scarf, then shrugged and wrapped it over the bottom half of her face. "Batman wished he looked this cool. Take the van, catch up behind me," she said with a grin as she sprinted away, looking for a way to catch up herself, which she found in the form of a motorcycle. Using her Wade-skills, she managed to hotwire it and hopped on, taking off toward the cars.
Sharon raised her own hoodie and crawled into the van, quickly shifting in drive and following the young woman. "How do I get into this stuff..." One car peeled off in response to the motorcycle and van suddenly appearing, blocking their way.
Molly came up behind one of the cars, then revved up a little faster. She glanced ahead, spotting a jersey barrier that was blocking some construction. Pulling neck to neck with the car, she turned and punched the window. The punch startled the driver, who quickly swerved and hit the barrier.
Sharon threw the van to the right, avoiding Molly and the car and floored the gas. Quickly she gained on the two cars still chasing the first car. Spotting the wall up front she pulled equal with the car doing the chasing and threw the wheel to the left. Sparks flew where the car was forced into the wall and the side mirror flew through the air.
Throwing on the brakes, Molly avoided hitting the car as it hit the barrier. Luckily the car didn't go over the edge but it also meant the driver was able to get out of the car...along with their gun. He immediately started firing at Molly. Fine for her, bad for everyone else--and her motorcycle, as one of the bullets punctured a tire.
"Crapnuggets," Molly muttered under her breath and tried to maneuver the bike to crash somewhere neutral. She careened into the side of an old abandoned building and was thrown off her bike, skidding across the ground like a rock against a lake before smacking into a mailbox. The driver with the gun let out a satisfied grunt, but his smile quickly faded as Molly picked herself up off the ground, spitting out dirt. She looked down at her outfit, which now had a series of rips all across it from the asphalt.
"Okay, now I'm mad," she said.
The driver's eyes widened in a mix of horror and anger. "MUTIE!" he shouted to his buddies, training the gun back on her again and firing wildly as she charged him, shoulder checking him into his car.
"What the heck dude? So dangerous AND mean," she said, yanking the gun out of his hand. Her eyes glowed purple as she twisted the barrel downward with a loud screech of metal.
"I think you should reevaluate your life choices."
Sharon was relieved to see Molly get up from her rear-view mirror and to see her handling the idiot with the gun. She focused on the last car in front of her. "Okay, let's wrap this up." She hit the gas once more, matching speeds and with one hand she reached behind her for the slender pipe that was there. Lowering the window, she leaned out and threw the pipe like a spear, straight at the back window of the car in front of her.
The effect of the window shattering was immediate as the car hit the brakes and Sharon could only just avoid the car in front of her. She quickly pulled around, blocking their way as the car came to a stand still.
While Molly was looking for something to try to hold the baddies, a few of them decided to bail. She was about to go after them but she realized that Sharon probably needed some back up. "Last ones?" Molly said to Sharon hopefully.
"Last ones." Sharon agreed as she settled into a fighting stance. She met the first man with a firm chop that made him drop his knife. "Where did whoever you serve find you? Rent-a-crook?" A second chop to the back of his neck sent him to the floor and she whirled to evade the kick of her second assailant.
While Sharon was taking care of the rest of the baddies, Molly looked for the victim, but they appeared to have been gone in the melee. She couldn't decide if she was happy or sad, because she wanted to be able to help if they needed it. "I think the person we were helping helping ran away," she said. She made a face. "Or kidnapped, but these guys looked more like the 'die, mutant scum!' type."
"Any chance you can find something to tie up the idiots?" Sharon called out as she took out the knee of number two, sending him moaning to the the ground. Number three was hefting the pipe she had thrown through the window of the car. "So you want to get fancy, eh?" Sharon rolled under first swing, coming up direct in front of him and immediately punching him in the cross. "What, you think I'm gonna play fair?" She commented as Sharon swung another punch, this time hitting him directly in the chin and sending him to the ground. "Idiots."
Molly strolled up to the car, peering inside while Sharon worked. "Oooh, rope!" she said, ripping off the door to get to it. "I'm guessing they were going for kidnapping. Bonus for us." She held up the rope like it was a prize. "We could leave them tied to the top of the car for the police? But they won't know they did anything unless these guys have a record." She frowned. That was the downside of crime fighting.
"We'll place an anonymous call to 911." Sharon replied as she took down the final idiot with an uppercut. "They can figure out what to do with them. I'll check if they will stay alive till that happens." Quickly she went around checking the vital signs and any major injuries of the men, then gestured for Molly to tie hem up. "I'll go get the others."
"Copy that," Molly said, giving Sharon a salute as she readied the rope and got to work. A few minutes later, the group of men were all tied up, Batman thug style, and Molly put her hands on her hips.
"That was kinda fun," she said thoughtfully with a grin.
Finishing applying an improvised splint on a broken leg, Sharon rose. "You've a weird idea of fun." She idly commented. "Let's go get some distance, call this in and then we can get those medical supplies. At least the van is still in one piece."
Molly's grin remained. "Aw come on. I think I saw a little smile back there," she said, nudging Sharon as they made their way back to their vehicle. "We totally made a good team."
"Not bad at all." Sharon agreed. "But let's get out of here quickly." She couldn't stop the little grin from playing around her lips though when she climbed back in the van. .
