So, so, so backdated to the long ago day of November 16, 2018. Post-punching Warren, Lorna comes home high and Alex is amused - for about thirty seconds.
It was "Lorna works late" night, which meant Alex was at the stove, making dinner, while Maxum drooled hungrily at his feet. "Sorry boy," he chuckled, nudging the dog. "This is all for Mama."
Lorna walked into the suite, smelling like the good old Mary Jane. Her hand was in her jacket, "I am starved." It was the weed talking, if anything Lorna needed someone to take a look at her hand. "Hey boy. You careful." Lorna fell to the floor and let the pup greet her.
Alex raised an eyebrow. “You went out with Q and didn’t invite me? I’m hurt,” he teased, walking over to kiss the top of her head. He frowned at her hidden hand. “Something wrong?”
"It was an emergency." She was avoiding eye contact as she pulled out her bruised hand. "I don't think it is broken. I can move all the fingers."
"A pot emergency?" Alex took her hand, gently looking it over. "What happened? And did you ice it?"
"I did. But it might need more TLC. I punched Warren." She said it as if it wasn't a big deal, she was high after all. "He wasn't too happy about that. But he shouldn't have said those things about you or my dad."
"Warren?" Alex looked up again. "What did he say?" Their boss had certainly been a little.... off lately, but nothing punching worthy that Alex had noticed.
"Basically said I could do better and that you don't support me. And then asked if my dad pimped me off. He is an asshole but he crossed multiple lines this evening." Lorna eyes glowed green for a moment before their dog started to lick her cheek and she went back to normal. "So I punched him...after flying him into a wall. We might need to get that fixed."
Alex blinked, staring at Lorna in disbelief. "What... the fuck?" he managed after a moment. "What the fuck?" This time with anger. "What's his fucking problem?"
Lorna looked up at him and then shrugged, "I think he was on drugs or something." She sighed. "I punched him though."
"Good." Alex wasn't usually one to advocate for violence, especially not against someone they shared a roof with, but fuck Worthington. He finished wrapping up Lorna's hand, scowling. "I don't care if he was high, he's still an asshole."
"Yes. Yes he is." Lorna leaned back and looked up at the ceiling. "I put him on a forced leave of absents. Not sure for how long...but he cannot come back the way he is now."
Alex gritted his teeth for a moment, fighting down the urge to curse or go find Warren and shove him out a window. Sure, he could fly. But it was the gesture that counted. "Son of a bitch," he finally said, blowing out a long breath. "Good. Maybe he'll just fuck off and not come back."
Lorna looked at her bandaged hand. It wasn't exactly professional on how she handeled it. "Shit." Dropping her head as Magnus continued to snuggle up to her. "Food? QQ gave me extra so we can just stay in all night."
Alex kissed Lorna's knuckles, smiling crookedly. "Sure. Dinner's almost ready. Let me make sure we have enough munchies or I'll throw something in the oven."
Lorna leaned forward and kissed him, "If anyone doesn't deserve anyone, it is me. I am the luckiest woman in the world."
Alex smiled slightly into the kiss, brushing his hands through her hair. "That's just the weed talking. Go get comfortable."
Lorna flopped over on the couch, "Done." Taking a big deep breath and pushed all bad thoughts aside for tonight.
