Tuesdayish. Lorna gives Alex an engraved invitation to California. Then they are schmoopy.

Sitting on the floor of his room amid tools, wheels, bolts and all kinds of spare parts, Alex was modifying the new skateboard he had gotten over the weekend to just the way he liked it. With his tongue slightly sticking out, his concentration was solely on the wheel and screwdriver in his hand and the board in his lap and he didn't even notice that Shiro had left the door slightly open.

Lorna rapped lightly on the door and pushed it open the rest of the way, "Alex?" She smiled at his concentration and leaned against the doorjamb until he looked up, "Hey, hon."

Jumping slightly, Alex looked up bashfully from his position on the floor. "Hey hon...one sec." He turned his concentration back to the board for a moment, giving the screw holding the wheel on a few more turns until it was tightened before looking up again, a grin on his face. "Alright done!"

Lorna crossed to his side and knelt down to kiss his cheek, careful not to inadvertently put her weight on a discarded board piece. "Very cool. Is that new?" She admired the board dutifully.

Alex nodded as he spun the newly replaced wheel. "Yep, went out this weekend and got a new one to replace the one I lost. Had to make some modification and now that it's done, I can't wait to try it out! I've missed boarding almost as much as I miss surfing."

How nice of him to give her the perfect opening. "It's really too bad there isn't anything like proper surfing around here." Lorna said with studied sympathy. She tucked her hand into her pocket casually.

Shrugging, Alex placed the board aside and began gathering the scattered tools. "It's almost summer and I know I can convince Scott for a trip to a real beach then. It's just a matter of waiting."

Lorna gathered all the metal pieces with a wave of her free hand and dumped them in front of him with a grin. "That's a long time to wait. When was the last time you got to surf?"

He returned the grin with a thankful peck on the cheek. "Thanks and the last time I surfed?" Alex thought a moment, running one hand through his blonde hair. "Gods, not since I came here last summer...almost a year."

Lorna shifted from her kneeling position and sat with her legs curled next to her. "That's just a tragedy." Her fingers ran along the edge of the envelope in her pocket, enjoying the secret.

Again Alex shrugged as he scooped up all the tools and parts and dumped them in his small tool box. "Yeah I guess, but then again, I don't even have a proper board, nor would I find one around here. New Yorkers know nothing about good surfing." He realized he was rambling and turned to smile at her when a thought hit him. "Why are you suddenly interested in my surfing?"

Lorna shrugged. "Maybe it's the weather," she said blandly, glancing outside at the cloud cover.

A sly grin appeared on Alex's face along with a raised eyebrow. "Oh really...personally, I think you’re up to something....The question is what?"

Lorna mock gasped, "Me? Up to something? Why Alex, what a thing to suggest!" She gave him a cheerfully innocent smile, pressing her free hand to her chest as though deeply shocked.

"Alright that's it, now I know you’re up to something and I know just what to do about it..." He winked at her before he began a sudden tickle assault on her sides.

Lorna shrieked and tried get away, failing miserably. She ended up falling. Giggling hysterically under his attack, she held up the silver envelope between them like a shield. "Here, here...I give!"

Grinning with triumph, he scooted away from her a bit after offering hand to help her up before taking the envelope. "What's this?" Turning it over, Alex's eyes went wide when he looked at what was inside. "California!? This weekend! Sweet!"

She leaned on his shoulder comfortably. "I know it's not Australia but it's home for me. I thought you'd like to see it." She smiled, "And the weather really is great right now."

He turned his head to kiss the top of yours. "I really don't know what to say besides thank you! And I'm honored you want to share your home with me...I hope I can return the favor someday."

"I hope so too. I've never been to Hawaii." She hugged him. "We're not going to be all alone unfortunately. Alison and Mile and Jane and maybe Bobby if Jane follows through will be coming too."

"Ahh, that's not so bad. We had fun on the last trip we went on with a group. Have to make sure the hotel room has a big bath tub though" Alex wrapped an arm around her waist to hug back. "You're too good to me hun..."

Lorna blushed a bit, "Well, Ali's booking everything and she's the one who got us that suite last time so I'm sure something can be arranged." She kissed him. "I love you."

Placing the envelope up on his bed, Alex wrapped both arms around her waist so he could kiss her properly in return.

Lorna leaned her forehead against his and grinned, "Ali, Jane and I went shopping for this trip. Needed a new suit."

"Can't wait for you to model it for me...I'll definitely be the luckiest guy on the beach." Drawing a stray lock of green hair out of her face and behind her ear, he kissed her gently on the nose. "You’re so beautiful..." he said softly.

She smiled, "I wanted something heart-stopping just to be sure that the other girls on the beach who were already cursing me for having the cutest surfer on the planet didn't even have the satisfaction of mocking my taste." She traced his face lightly with her fingertips then ran her hands into his hair.

Alex laughed softly, turning his head to kiss her fingertips. "Oh no, we wouldn't want that." He groaned softly, enjoying the hands running through his hair and closed his eyes.

"No, indeed." She ran her nails along the nape of his neck and took advantage of his closed eyes to kiss him again, slowly as if she had all the time in the world.

With his eyes still closed, Alex kissed her back slowly, her nails getting another soft groan out of him. His hands rested on her hips and he gently pulled her too him

She sighed and slid onto his lap, straddling his legs, pressing against him in a languid, lazy movement. One hand dragged her nails down his back, just grazing along his t-shirt. She was rewarded with another small groan as Alex bowed his head forward and leaned it against her chest, his arms wrapped securely around her waist. She rested her cheek against his hair and ended up looking at the open door to the hallway. A flick of her wrist encouraged it to close again.
