Dom catches Moira online and the two women chat. Mostly about Nathan's little disappearing act, but they talk about the WildPack, Muir, buying Nathan a kiddie leash and visits.

LadyLuck13: Hey, Moira.
DocMacTaggart: Dom! Surprised to see you on. How's everything?
LadyLuck13: Passable. I killed Hammer and stuck his body in the freezer last night.
DocMacTaggart: At least tell me you wrapped him in tin foil or something. God forbid the chicken next to him go bad.
LadyLuck13: Drat. Didn't even think of that.
LadyLuck13: So how's the old man?
DocMacTaggart: Well, he's not dead. But just between us I was || close to calling you guys...
LadyLuck13: ... do I even want to know?
DocMacTaggart: I'm not even sure I want to know. Or try to muddle out because he doesn't remember most of it.
LadyLuck13: ....he doesn't remember. Moira, Nate has a photographic memory.
DocMacTaggart: Yes, I know. *sigh* Feel free to hurt him, only a little, when I'm done telling you this, btw. Pete and I get dibs.
DocMacTaggart: He left on Friday to meet with someone he knew from Mistra. He also told me he would ask Pete to go along. Needless to say, Pete was never asked and Nathan can't remember why he didn't ask him. Along the way, he was drugged, knocked out and had his system pumped full of fun, wonderful things. All the while the link was never touched so I'm guessing: telepath. He was also stabbed somewhere in this mess and finally dragged himself home Sunday night. I woke up to what sounded like mountains falling on my head. Scary thing? Isn't really freaked out by this...
LadyLuck13: Oh, I'm not liking the sound of this. He said he'd take Pete and then didn't? Did he have any kind of explanation for that?
DocMacTaggart: None. I'm trying to get to the bottom of this without, well, making Nathan's brain turn into goo.
LadyLuck13: Can I just say 'Argh'? On a number of levels?
LadyLuck13: Is he going to be all right? Medically speaking, I mean.
DocMacTaggart: Yes, you can. I think I've said 'Argh' in Latin.
DocMacTaggart: With rest, yes. I checked, nothing they pumped him with messed with the virus. Thank God. He's sore and keeps giving me that damned puppy dog look of his when I start berating him, so yes.
LadyLuck13: Well, that's something.
LadyLuck13: Someone from Mistra, and a telepath... they could have messed with his conditioning, Moira. Although I don't know why they would have sent him back...
DocMacTaggart: It worries me. But I can't help but think it's *not* that. Why leave the link alone? It's not like they don't know who I am...
LadyLuck13: Games within games, possibly... and yes, I'm a pessimist. Learned it from him.
LadyLuck13: Is he going to let Charles check him over?
DocMacTaggart: If he doesn't, I'll make him. I'll take away his coffee supply.
LadyLuck13: Shit... why can he not stay out of trouble for a month at a time?
DocMacTaggart: I really wish I knew. He's going to turn my hair white or give me an ulcer.
LadyLuck13: I can't stop wondering about why he didn't take Pete. That doesn't make any sense at all.
DocMacTaggart: It's not like him at all. *frowns* I think tomorrow I'll see if I can dig any more out of him. It--he seems in pain when he tried to remember. I'm hoping it was just residual from the weekend.
LadyLuck13: ... Moira, that's an aversion trigger.
DocMacTaggart: What?
LadyLuck13: You need to try and make him remember. Push as hard as you can.
LadyLuck13: If that happens again, if it causes him pain... under these circumstances I would think it's a pretty fair bet that it's a post-hypnotic suggestion to keep him from remembering. But why that and not the whole weekend...
LadyLuck13: Unless the drugs took care of the weekend, and whatever happened to keep him from taking Pete happened before.
DocMacTaggart: *Damn* it. I think he and I are going to try to talk about it again, probably tomorrow once I know he's completely rested. I could punch someone right now...preferably the ones who did this to him.
LadyLuck13: You and me both, Moira.
LadyLuck13: He needs a leash, you know. That would be the solution.
DocMacTaggart: One of those kiddie leashes, I'm thinking. So that if he tries his falling down trick again (which, thankfully, he hasn't done lately), he'll just bounce back up.
LadyLuck13: One step forward, six steps back?
DocMacTaggart: So it feels sometimes, yes.
DocMacTaggart: Oh, yes...I was told I have to be the one to bribe you lot with beer.
LadyLuck13: Oh, the Muir thing? Yeah, we're okay to do that. It'll be me, GW, Theo, and the boys.
DocMacTaggart: Oh good, sounds like I don't have to bribe you with beer. (Hammer staying in the freezer?)
LadyLuck13: Mina and David have a job, Lien's visiting her family that week. Hammer... well, Hammer is taking a bit of a sabbatical.
DocMacTaggart: ...a good sabbatical or a forced one? (And shoot, I seem to keep missing Mina.)
LadyLuck13: Forced sabbatical. We decided he needed a vacation before he burned all his bridges.
LadyLuck13: And no, you don't need to know. I'm sure his jaw will heal up very nicely, and GW feels quite bad.
DocMacTaggart: *laughs* I'm sure Bridge is beside himself with guilt.
LadyLuck13: He was actually kicking himself. All this crap about how he's not much of a leader if he has to break chairs over his people's head.
LadyLuck13: He was enjoying his guilt-trip so much that he didn't notice us all cheering him on from the sidelines.
DocMacTaggart: To be a good leader, I thought one HAD to break...oh, whoops.
DocMacTaggart: Bridge is too hard on himself sometimes. ...most of the time. Some people just don't want to be led.
LadyLuck13: He misses Nate. It's going to take some adjusting.
DocMacTaggart: I know, I'm sorry. ...how're you with everything?
LadyLuck13: Coping... I assume you're not going to mind if I maybe tag along back with you to the States for a while, after we're done on the island?
DocMacTaggart: Of course not. You're more than welcome and I mean that.
LadyLuck13: I think GW might come along. He wants to see the school, too.
LadyLuck13: So, on a happier note, Nate tells me he's actually going to be teaching? I got quite a kick out of that...
DocMacTaggart: *small snicker* Yes. I know he was leaning towards it but I think Charles suggested it. And he's been off and running with it since. It's quite entertaining.
LadyLuck13: You know he's going to be great at it. But he's also probably going to bitch about it constantly.
DocMacTaggart: God help me, yes he is. Bloody hell, I'm going to end up throwing things at him if he starts being too bad.
LadyLuck13: Hey, don't wait for that. Throwing things at him on a regular basis keeps him in line.
DocMacTaggart: I think I'll throw *more* things at him. It's not fair that he catches everything.
LadyLuck13: Even better.
LadyLuck13: Look, Moira, I should go. I'll keep in touch... let us know what you find out about what happened to him this weekend?
DocMacTaggart: I'll either drop you an e-mail or give you guys a call as soon as I know, I promise. Take care of yourself, keep Hammer in the freezer, and tell everyone I say hi.
LadyLuck13: Will do, on all counts. Talk to you soon.
