Felicia and Sarah connect over the invitation to a Maggia wedding and a plan is hatched.

It had actually been a call from Felicia's mother that brought both of them to a booth and cocktails at The Original Kirby's. Chris had just dropped off their drinks when Felicia opened the white envelope that had been sent to her mother's PO Box - also the one legal address for Felicia - and slid out the card.

The card was pleased to announce the engagement of Donatella Manfredi to Paul Libris - to factions of leading families joining together through fringe cousins - like Romeo and Juliet with thicker necks and far less importance - and celebrations to be held at the Jerome Manor this coming weekend.

Sarah looked at the card, pulling a face. If she remembered the two, Dita was just out of high school and Paul's worth was in his name, and nothing more. "A love match to be sure."

"Definitely not for convenience," Felicia agreed, the corner of her mouth lifting. "Or because a condom broke. And how nice of them to invite not only all their family members but apparently half of Manhattan making it nearly impossible to get caught crashing so long as you have access to the names of some rich people who are out of town for the summer and VistaPrint."

"They probably started with all the west coast celebrities, and when the regrets started pouring in they had to adjust their strategy. How better to show the Families have still got it by inviting half the city for free food and drinks and probably a surprise Barry Manilow concert?"

Felicia made a pouting face. "Stop selling me on this party I'm missing out on. I'm going back to making fun of how terrible this invitation is instead. They seriously couldn't even spring for Minted? A little embossing? That's the real sign mama Manfredi is pissed off about this. Timing is timing, but an ugly invite? She is piiiiissed."

"Mama had dreams for Dita. She was going to be a model. Maybe a little television. Now she's marrying the least interesting Libris brother." She considered the invitation again. "Maybe you should go. I'm sure there's intel to be gathered once everybody starts drinking, and the drama will be delicious. The Real Housewives have nothing on mob families with crushed hopes and dreams."

"Oh, we'll be going. It just may be a little obvious if we show up in an official guest capacity." Felicia smiled, nails tapping against her glass. "Though maybe I'll bring an image inducer for hypothetical Barry Manilow."
