(backdated) Before graduation, Alani meets up with Clarice to get some fashion advice and help.

When Alani had reached out for a little shopping trip, she hadn't known exactly what to ask of Clarice. What she knew was that she had a knack for fashion and could be buried under her piled clothing... which made her grin. Anyone who could get buried under their own clothes was someone she definitely needed fashion advice from.

Looking over to the pink woman, she flashed a quick smile before motioning at herself. "Okay, so, I already know I should stay away from red as a main color. But, I'm wondering what you might recommend for a commencement look? Aaand, maybe if you know where to find such a look."

"Why?" Clarice asked, looking Alani over. "You'd look badass in red. It's a bold color though, you have to own it," she wasn't sure Alani was comfortable in the colour, but otherwise, it was fine.

She loved fashion, though couture wasn't really her thing. She was more interested in everyday fashion and dresses. She didn't have time to make her clothes like she used to, but she still made a few pieces every year, including her Eurovision dress. That was always months in the making. Today though, as all about Alani.

"Maaybe," Alani dragged the word out as she thought. She'd never actually thought about it like that, or looking badass at all. Her regular fashion was plain and comfortable, even avoiding any brand name products that weren't thrifted, but, since her markings had appeared, she'd avoided red as a color almost entirely. It might be nice to go back to red, especially if she could get her hands on some textiles from back home. "Bold can be good. I'd give checking out red as a color a try. Maybe something I could wear in other places or settings? Not too tits out." Oh, wait, she'd said that. Blinking slowly, she forced herself to smile. "Where would you start?"

Sighing, Clarice stared down at her meager chest, "Gotta have tits to go tits out," she said, though there were absolutely benefits to a smaller chest. How big chested women did it, she had no idea. She sighed, "And neither of us do. Another time then. But think about it. A red jumpsuit and black heels? The looks practically demands you strut. Or you can do a big chunky shoe for comfort and look tough and in control. Same look in a baby blue jumpsuit? Very different vibe."

Alani made a choking sound at Clarice's comment, face flushing. But there was no argument to be made for herself on that front, and she was well aware of that. Clearing her throat, she stifled any further fits of laughter and nodded sagely along. "You've got me on that one, and I appreciates your candidness. I do think... I'd like to see what a red jumpsuit looks like on me and, if I can actually walk longterm in them, stilettos. I wanna be taller." And her grin was playful, but sharper, flashing her teeth for a moment at the idea of being around six foot or above in heels. "If anything I could walk around the mansion in heels until I get used to it, right?"

"Lucky for everyone, those big chunky 90's heels are back in style, so you don't have to do a stiletto if you don't want to," or if she couldn't. They were a shoe best suited for very specific times, places, and environments. Chunky heels were more versatile and comfortable. "Don't we all," she added sympathetically, though she wasn't actually all that short at 5'5." "Also, you're going to be wearing the graduation robes of your outfit. So like....it's important, but not THAT important."

"Wedges? Or was that actually a shoe type that existed in the 90s?" She was tempted to whip out her phone to google what this 90s style was, in case she wanted to lament being born later in that decade, or, more likely, in case a fashion person she followed on her private accounts had featured a pair with an outfit. Humming at the point of her robes, she slowly nodded. "If anything it might make it a little hotter to have a whole other layer on top, just for however long the commencement is going on. But, good news, I can do heat longer than I can do cold."

Clarice blinked, "Wedges have been a style around since....the 40's? Maybe longer?" she was pretty sure it came about a long, long time ago even if it wasn't the popular trend at the time. "As with everything, trends come and go. They were very trendy in the 90's though and a lot of 90's trends are back now, reworked in new ways. Because that's how fashion works."

"The ebbs and flows of fashion," Alani nodded sagely, though she only knew what other people told her and hadn't actually done any research herself. That should probably be fixed. "Alright, so some shoe to make me tall...er," she added after a beat, "and we try out some jumpsuits. What can I give you in return for these amazing fashion points, because I am a hopeless toddler in these endeavors?"

Huh? Getting paid? Did not compute. "I get to play human barbie. You get fashion. Win win?"

"Oh," that gave her pause, a little shocked but quickly the look turned to a bright grin. "That is a win-win, alright. Mutually productive. And I'm happy to be a human barbie, it sounds pretty fun if it's anything like what I did with my barbies - she was pretty much Elle Woods becoming president and it was a lovely time for all... or that one movie about cheerleaders robbing a bank. Loved that for her."

"I mean, I won't say no if you want to buy me a boba or something," Clarice answered, holding up some earrings to her ear before putting them back. Not quite for her. "But like, I charge teleporting stuff places by the Starbucks most of the time. So it seems weird to raise prices here. Plus, this is how friendships are made. Or did you not watch My Little Pony?"

"Boba I can do, and Starbucks, or there's this nice cafe I sit in to do papers in District X that I'd be happy to get your orders for you from." Alani's voice had lightened, taking a singsongy tone as she grinned, trying not to full on beam. “This is the start of a beautiful friend, I feel.”

District X had appeal, however, "Boba," Clarice agreed, "Let's go do things."
