Jubilee checks in with the rest of the vehicles team and finds amazing great fantastic moderate success.

“Alrighty my brilliant, lovely minions who just did everything I needed you to do in next to record time. Run down for me what we’ve got.”

Jubilee was standing at the front of the mansion meeting room that had moments before been empty as everyone was on deck seeing to the things that would need to be seen to before they went on their cross country quest.

She’d dragged Artie and Sarah in here because it was quieter and she could write things on the white board. She turned and drew some columns on said board with words like ‘needs some work’, ‘good to go’ and ‘oh god why?’ at the top before turning and pointing at Sarah first

“Shoot, tell me of your conquests. I have an entire ass RV. It's old as balls.”

"I wouldn't call it a conquest exactly,"

Sarah grimaced, "It seems that while the law has forgotten I did a thing, the mob has not and my contacts are afraid to work with me outright. Three dealers asked me to leave before I shook down the guy I know who sells cars out of his yard." Sarah had dated his son exactly once in high school before her father paid for his tuition to go to military school far away. She wasn't sure if he talked to her out of obligation to her father or in hopes that she would come back and see Brian sometime, but she suspected it had more to do with the fact that she was offering more cash for them than he could ever hope to get from Craigslist and Family referrals.

"Anyway, I can't promise nobody has died in any of these, but they seem okay and he swears they will run without issue."

"Damn, at least one of those is a real POS" Artie said, projecting the text and a red circle around the third car. He smiled though, to take the sting out of the words. "Good work."

He added his bikes to the list. "They're all from Craigslist or Facebook Marketplace. I could have stolen some but it was easier to get what I needed that way. All cash. They're all fine, but I've put new tires on them anyway and I'm in the middle of blinging them up - done most of the spray paint already and we're on to the
showy shit."

“Get them all to the mansion garage and I’ll poke our boffins to have at getting them road worthy,” Jubilee noted, sticking an ‘achievement unlocked’ sparkly magnet to the white board. “People dying in things is not the deal breaker it once was. Long as there’s no obvious blood stains or open cases involved we’re good.”

She finished tapping and grinned at both of them.

“Good job everyone, now who wants food and booze on Emma’s dime to celebrate?”

Doug, Darcy and Nat call a quick meeting to update everyone on the technology situation.

Doug looked around the room at all the members of X-Force who had gathered back up after splitting off to take care of each of their responsibilities to prep for the road trip and mission. He leaned back in his chair and organized his thoughts to give a concise status report. "So, first of all, to answer some questions that I've gotten as I've been collecting phones and laptops, 'low tech' does not mean 'no tech'. But it does mean we're going with non-networked devices to minimize our vulnerability. So yes, Topaz, and anyone else who was wondering, you can bring your Kindle as long as you get all the reading material on it before we leave. "As to the phones and laptops, we're leaving them air-gapped inside a Faraday cage here in the mansion. Now for the rest. Since Darcy is BFFs with 'Lemon', I let her handle locking that down." He glanced at Darcy, inviting her to chime in.

"While we're gone the AI will still be doing low-key surveillance for us about current persons and things of interest - news scraping, other passive data mining, the sorts of things that don't typically draw interest - and we've got some various papers and press releases ready for release on the Snow Valley side, so it'll still look like we're here and working," Darcy said crisply, looking at the notes scrawled on the pad in front of her. "If anything tries to get in, an automatic lockdown will go into effect that will alert all three of us, plus Clint and that Forge guy. Clint's got basic directions on how to fully DC Lemon in a crisis, and I'm informed Forge can probably build safe containment if we need it. I do not expect to need it. Sublime's group is smart and tech savvy, but nothing indicates they've got more than a few grey hats who are really, really excellent at hunt and seek."

She took a long sip of her coffee and flipped the page. The downside to tree tech, sometimes. "That said, Lemon's not currently connected to the network, so you won't be getting the digests tailored to things you've been specifically assigned or personally looked into for at least the length of the trip. Any data collected is going to be very carefully checked before we reattach, so there might be a delay. It's unfortunate, but it was the best way we could come up with that didn't have us starting however long behind once we get back. Natasha handled the radios and other tech in our transportation options, so I'll pass to her."

"Everyone should have a series of burner phones, all currently turned off and not transmitting until needed. There shouldn't be any issue in grabbing any random one in the series and activating it for use. Each phone has a subroutine that will autoprogram the relevant burner number for everyone else on the op into the contacts list within 60 min of phone activation. Said subroutine will also autodelete itself and all numbers if it doesn't get the go ahead signal from a randomized permissions signal output from one of two pagers. I'll have one and Doug will have the other. If needed, I can roll up a third and give it to Kevin as a backup." Natasha cupped her hands around her mug of tea and breathed in some of the steam before continuing. "Old school walkie-talkies for communications while out in the camps. I don't expect we'll get great cell signal or in the case we need to ditch the phones. Range of encrypted frequencies should be preset though I half wonder if I should go for the non-digital models. Any thoughts?"

"Yeah, go ahead and roll up that backup pager for Kevin, since you're going to be shadowing Emma," Doug decided with a firm nod to Natasha. "As for while we're on the road, we're installing CB radios in each of the vehicles so that we're not leaning too hard on the burner phones and going through our reserves too fast. They're custom sets, easily mounted and easily removed for stowing if needed." State troopers could get finicky about people warning each other about their unmarked cars and the like.

Marie-Ange nodded. "There will be a brief from Kevin on trucker and CB culture before we go. Last, and I think you all know this." She gave a broad wave to the rest of X-Force. "Rotating through your various identities, and if things get suspect, do not be afraid to dump burners or IDs. If this operation goes well, we can always unburn identities a month from now."
