(backdated) With some understanding of her new powers, Alani checks in on Kurt, who is not having the time of her life that she is.

On the second day of not having her powers Alani tried to stay on the bright side, and now she was allowing herself to go with the flow more than she ever had in her life. Which was how she found herself outside of the Sefton-Szardos sibling suite. Something was telling her that's where she needed to be. Hesitantly, she knocked, and to her confusion a light appeared to be reflecting on the door. "Hello? Anyone home? It's Alani... I have biscuits, Soo' made 'em.”

"Come in, Alani", Kurt called from his room. "But please keep your phone in your pocket if you have it."

“Oh, I’ll leave it in the hall!” She chirped, pausing only to backtrack to do so before poking her head in. She’d read but it was a bit of a surprise all the same seeing the change, though she tried to keep any bald shock from her voice. “Oh, my — you’re really not blue. Are you okay, Kurt?”

"We think this is how I would have been born, lacking powers", he said ruefully. "I do not think I like it, but it is the least of my concerns."

"Ah, yes, I suppose that would make sense," Alani nodded, though her brows briefly knitted together because, was that pain? He didn't sound like himself as she was used to. "What are your concerns?"

"Whatever powers I now have seem to be... science-related", was the best he could explain. "Technology makes it worse."

"Ah, thus the no phone." It clicked. "Oh, oh no, you have Forge's power. I didn't read that power section once I realized it was whatever I got. I... lemme think, maybe I can help."

"Which power did you get?" he asked, looking up at her hopefully. "If you think you can, please try."

"Felicia called it psychometry, but I touched Meggan yesterday and a good thing happened after." Where was the connection? Who knew, she was sure there was one though, so with a calming inhale, she reached out to touch him. The universe cleared its throat and decided to put its foot down on her leaning on it. Red, this was red and she didn't like it. Her discomfort felt almost stifling. An audible 'pop' followed as she jerked her hand away from him. "Oh no."

Kurt had automatically jerked back as well, and looked around. "It was only the lamp. I thought psychometry was something more like telepathic readings from objects."

"Yeah, but people give me colors, like a fucked up roulette wheel and I don't gamble. This one was red. And distress." She sighed as she stared at the lamp. "That's never happened before."

"Was Meggan in a calmer mood when you saw her?" he asked, gratefully latching on to the distraction of a new subject.

"She was in good spirits, all things considered. After I touched her it was white and reassuring, like a hug." She explained, with a sheepish smile.

"She has that effect", Kurt agreed. "And then something good happened?"

“Yes!" And whatever she was about to say stopped as her brows furrowed together in thought. "I think, at least. Am I at least helping to distract you from your superbrain?" The question was followed by a light laugh.

"You are", he assured her. "May I know what this possibly good thing was?"

"Of course! The good that happened was Namor didn't throw me out on my ass into the lake... which is good for me." She leaned into the word as she spoke it, giving a slight shrug, though the question of if Meggan had also had something good happen was now prodding at her mind. "I should text her. Would it be weird if I offered you drugs or booze? Like you reckon either of those might help?"

"Forge would probably be the one to ask, if he found anything to help him when this first came upon him."

"Right, yes, logic." Alani nodded, before sighing. "I'm so sorry, I wanna help but I don't know how and I already ruined one of your lamps, babe."

"Not one I was especially fond of", he assured her. "And you were trying to help."

"Trying, failing, a little success," she was laughing, a little, more at herself than anything. "Ah, right, the reason I showed up - have you eaten yet? I brought some, well, it's a tin o' biscuits to be honest, babe, but a delicious tin."

Kurt brightened a little and sat up. "I have no doubt of it, and food surely cannot set off these powers more."

"I would nope not." Her smile was realer now, pleased at the prospect of her visit actually maybe helping. "And hey, maybe if something does, I'll destroy it."
