Kane and Bobbi catch up in the city.

"Well, I was not expecting to see you back here. I thought Warren was going to build you a white marble mansion with gold toilets and gold fixtures and gold toilet paper and whatever other things in gold the fabulously wealthy buy." Kane said, sliding over a cocktail to her from his perch at the bar of Original Kirby's in District-X as Bobbi joined him.

"Well we bought one, but technically it was a castle built in like 1300," she said with a shrug. His wealth may have started to rub off on her a bit; not a sense of entitlement or a loss of gratitude, to be certain, but the impact was a little less and less each time he bought them something outlandishly expensive. Which was often.

She took the cocktail with a grateful nod and took a seat next to him. "Good to see you just the same, Garrison. How're you been? We miss anything exciting?" Hope had been keeping in touch with them, amongst others, but it never hurt to ask just the same.

"Got enslaved by a demon, marked for death by Magneto and the Brotherhood, skin flayed off while alive, and now I have some kind of wolf which may or may not just be a normal animal following me around. It's been a bit of a year." He was dressed in his usual work clothes; the bland suit and tie ubiquitous to federal law enforcement. "So are you guys back back? As in we need to refit you for DR training and some new leathers?"

"I... don't know where to even begin with that," she admitted. She'd expected some wild stuff, to be sure, but that was a lot. "I'm sorry, did you say a wolf is following you around now?" The rest was bad too, of course, but for some reason that part stuck with Bobbi the most.

"And yeah, we're back back, Warren is able to reclaim his old position and, well. It was nice while it lasted, but Europe was... it wasn't New York," she concluded. "Plus we need to finalize the whole wedding thing, and you guys are all here, so that would've been highly inconvenient." She smirked at him. "In short, DR training and new leathers, yes please."

"Fair enough. I'll re-initialize your mission database access when I get home. You can get the whole story. DR and leathers you can grab tomorrow." Kane agreed, taking a long sip. "And yeah, he's a wolf. Like, wolf wolf, not a dog hybrid. I don't have an explanation."

"I didn't expect that there'd be an easy one, to be honest," she replied, taking another long sip of her drink. "But... that's a good thing, sounds like?" Bobbi assumed if the wolf had actually attacked anyone then Kane wouldn't be keeping it or bringing it around others, so there was that. "I look forward to it, gotta shake off some of the rust. Europe was fun but I couldn't do nearly as much as I could here."

"You going back to investigations? I mean, I assume so but who knows, eh?" Kane said.

"That's the plan, though if they need me for anything else I'm open to suggestions," she replied with another sip. "Why do you ask, you hear of any openings in particular anywhere?" Bobbi asked, arching an eyebrow slightly.

"The openings joke is far too easy, especially with you being with the Horny Seagull. But I won't lie. If you want to shift from the XFi s offices to the X-Men, I'll fully endorse it. If not, they could certainly use someone with your experience and skill set." He replied honestly.

"Oh dammit," she sighed, realizing that he was right. "I've been gone too long, I've gotten sloppy," she observed. Then she actually listened as Kane explained, blinking at the idea as she mulled it over, the gears turning in her head as she considered it. "That... may not be the worst idea ever," she reasoned. "I've been wanting more action and that would certainly give me that in spades. I'd need to talk to Warren but..." It sounded better the more she thought about it, and was definitely something to be considered.

"Wait, I'm supposed to bribe you. I think we have cookies? Or we can buy cookies, eh?" Kane paused. "I declare cookies will be provided!" He said, as Chris rolled his eyes and replaced his pint with a fresh one at the bar.

"I'm gonna hold you to that," she grinned. "X-shaped ones too, with fancy frosting." Ok maybe she was asking for too much there, but it couldn't hurt to try, right? "And it's hard to bribe someone who's family has amassed a fortune larger than most first world nations' gross national product."

"Yeah, but that's all exploitation and late stage capitalism. Cookies are at least an honest bribe."

"Grassroots bribery is sadly going out of style, isn't it? I appreciate your efforts to keep it alive and well." She chuckled. "My hips might not, especially with the pending nuptials, but that'll just mean a harder go in the DR, right?"

"Nothing like an afternoon of simulated mutant hunting robots to burn off the calories. I'm told. I just naturally look like this." Kane took another sip from his pint. "After endless cookies..."
