Piotr and Theo discuss bodyguarding:
May. 20th, 2004 11:12 am"Who are you? Not Hank right? I know I've been gone awhile, but..."
That rumbling in his stomach only meant one thing. It was lunch time.
Piotr stepped out of his room and started on his way towards the kitchen. He smiled at Marie-Ange as they passed each other in the hallway. He was very happy to be back. Training to become a bodyguard is tough work and he was hungry and determined to get to that kitchen before the rest of the mansion poured in to chow down their lunch. He rounded the corner and was faced with a scene he was not prepared for.
"Hi," Theo said cheerfully, chewing on the chicken. He was leaning against the counter, since none of the chairs or stools were really fit to hold his weight.
"Hello," Piotr said carefully. He did not recognize the massive beast eating away at the chicken he was looking forward too. "Who are you? Not Hank right? I know I've been gone awhile, but..." he trailed off.
"Hank? Isn't that the blue doctor?" Theo ate one of the drumsticks, bone and all. "Mmm. I'm Theo. Came with Nate from Muir Island."
"Yes, he's the blue doctor, but he wasn't blue always, so it wouldn't be odd if he changed colors again. Anyway, it's nice to meet you Theo. My name's Piotr, I just flew in from training."
"Training?" Theo asked curiously. "For what?"
"Oh, the mansion sent me off to train to become a bodyguard and personal driver for the Professor," Piotr replied.
"Bodyguard work? I've done that." Theo grinned, wiping his mouth. "People sometimes like having a showy bodyguard."
"Well, you friend are very showy," Piotr smiled. Intrigued by the conversation, Piotr reached into the fridge, grabbed a chicken leg and sat down next to Theo. "So, what's it like? Being a bodyguard that is."
"Nervous work, generally," Theo said and picked up the bottle of soda, downing better than half of it in a couple of gulps. "Depends on who you're guarding, of course. You get all super-aware of your protectee's habits real fast."
"I see. I have yet to go to any events with the Professor, but I'm sure I'll be a wreck my frist time," Piotr laughed. He was happy that there was someone in the mansion to talk to about bodyguarding.
"Probably be a little easier on you. Given your protectee's a super-telepath and all."
"True, true, but I'd be devestated if he was hurt." Piotr shivered at the thought of it.
"Well, that's why you're there. To take the bullet."
Piotr nodded, stood up and dug into the cubboards from some potato chips. He sat next to Theo again and munched away while the two chatted about experiences until the kitchen was flooded with other students.
