TW, to be safe: Concerns about inappropriate behavior

Madin couldn't remember the last time they'd been this angry. They'd tapped into skills they'd had to put aside when they left the Brotherhood, waiting and watching for a time when Sharon was alone and Match - who was now on their shit list, as an enabler - and Julio and the stupid dumb tail kid - were all out.

Fuck them. Fuck Sharon and her little her of messed up enablers, especially Match who had to know how messed up she was but he was dumb as shit, so maybe he'd missed it or maybe he just enabled her, but either way, there was no cornering Sharon if he was around, because his stupid weeny arse was only capable of growing a spine and connecting to this planet when she was concerned.

So. They'd waited until the minions were gone and Sharon was alone, upstairs. And then had shut the door to limit her ability to run. And honestly, right at this moment, Madin wasn't past going straight to stabbing. The only thing stopping them was the knowledge that they'd be kicked out if they went straight to plasma knives.

"Hey. We need to fucking talk, Sharon."

Sharon, currently human and sitting on the couch of the common room with Lightning McQueen and Toothless, gave Madin a slow blink. The tip of her tail, however, twitched.

"This seems very hostile," she observed.

Madin did not punch plasma into the wall. Somehow. "Yeah, I guess it fucking does."

Carefully, Sharon lifted one cat from her lap, the other from her shoulder, and placed both of them onto the floor.

"Play amongst yourselves," she told them, pushing them gently away. "Some human thing is occurring."

With the kittens now clear Sharon turned her full attention to Madin. Her face was characteristically without expression, but her tail continued to flick. "You have a complaint?" she inquired.

"What the hell, Sharon. Emily? The kid's sixteen."

Sharon considered this statement, but found it offered no enlightenment.

"I question Emily also," she said. "Potential meaning must be narrowed down."

"Why are you going into a kid's room at night?" Madin's voice was less controlled than they wanted it to be.

"Noises of distress were heard. I found the door unlocked. Investigation occured. She was on fire," Sharon added, matter-of-fact.

"How did you know she was on fire, huh? She doesn't set off the smoke alarms."

"The fire, this was determined once investigation was made. By my eyes. Husband causes fires also."

"Yeah, but how did you know she was on fire?" Madin was this close to losing it.

"These questions are circular," Sharon retorted, also losing patience. "I heard sounds of distress. An investigation was made. How else does one determine danger? I do not understand the intent behind these questions."

Madin breathed in through their nose and out through their mouth, clinging to the knowledge that you couldn't just beat the living shit out of Sharon like a liferaft. "You never would have known if you weren't in her room being a creepy fuck while she was asleep. She is sixteen. Do you know how messed up it is that you're sneaking into a kid's bedroom at night?"

Sharon stared at them. The expression could have been interpreted in as many varying ways as a Rorschach test.

"Why?"

Madin stared at her, aghast. "Because you're 23 and she's sixteen and only creeps who want to get into a sixteen year old's pants do that?"

"I am twenty-one," Sharon corrected them, "and this is a strange concern. I am Cat. Married also. I desire intimate contact with no one."

"I don't care. You don't do that. You're a cat, sure, what the fuck ever," she wasn't Madin's first feral, "but half the time you look like a person and if I ever catch you in Emily's room, or Hope's, or Liam's, I will fucking destroy you. Understand? I don't care what shape you're in, because your brain never changes."

Despite being in the human half of her time, Sharon somehow gave Madin the impression ears were flattening against her skull.

"To many rooms I have explicit invitation. If my presence is not desired a door must only be locked or a request made of me. An unambiguous boundary. This is simple. My brain does not change, no. Is not human" she spoke the word with the same inflection as a slur "and I will not have human demands and assumptions imposed upon me for your comfort."

"It's not my comfort. It's their safety. They're kids and you're a grown ass adult who shouldn't be in their rooms at night. I've seen what happens when adults do that to kids who don't have anyone looking out for them and I don't want that happening to these kids."

Sharon stared at them. Then, slowly, her cheeks began to blotch with rage. She stabbed a finger towards one of the kittens, which had jumped onto a nearby chair.

"Do you experience sexual attraction to Lightning McQueen?" she demanded.

Madin stared at her in disbelief. "No, because I don't fuck anything that isn't sentient. I'm." Fuck it. The anger was bubbling up in Madin again. She was worse than Warren. At least he didn't go near kids rooms. The urge to stab things was unavoidable. "You're not the only feral I've ever me and you're like the others - when you've got a people mind, you have to. To respect the boundaries these kids can't make. You're not listening to reason, so here's a threat. I'll fuck you up if you keep going in their rooms at night you psycho."

"You have come to accuse me of predatory behavior towards minors because I investigated signs of distress," Sharon snapped. "To me, is the same as an accusation you harbor inappropriate desires towards animals. You say you understand ferals, but you do not. You say mutants need not live by human rules, but me you do not accept because I will not be human enough." She surged from the couch, the sudden movement sending Lightning McQueen bolting away. Lips curled from her teeth. "Liam is like a little brother. I look out for him. You do not make decisions for him, or for me."

"You know, I heard one of the guards at Port say that, too, about one of the kids there. Real nice guy, you know, so excuse me if I've got a problem here." Madin couldn't even. They turned and punched out at the wall, plaster and wood burning as they stalked out of the room.

Madin! I love how protective they are of the kids, even when it gets them in trouble.

Poor Sharon. She’s just trying to live her best cat life and there’s these humans with odd ideas.
