Friday, mid-afternoon

Blinking at the image, an enlightened expression crossed Sam's face. "Oh! Those M&Ms...I'd forgotten about..." He trailed off as he thought about what the others had said. "Not your flavour of..." In an instant of understanding, Sam's eyes bugged and he half-shouted, "Augh!"

Alison grinned at the look on his face, laughing under her breath as she spoke. "Want me to explain the rest now?" she asked innocently, hiding a far more wicked smile as he nodded emphatically.

"Hrm... Let's use this wall..." Taking him by the hand she led him towards the wall, pausing to move a chair out of the way to have enough space for the... demonstration.

"Okaaaay..." Sam followed her obediently with a confused expression.

Leaning on the wall and facing him, Alison nodded at him solemnly. "Ok. Now, you have to be a bit closer... good." She smiled in approval as he stepped up close to her as she indicated, leaving barely any space between them. "Now, help me out here a bit." She laced her arms around his neck and raise an eyebrow at him. "I need to get up a bit higher, me..."

Sam hiked her up a little by the hips, supporting her against the wall.

"Like that?"

Wriggling a bit and wondering if he'd caught on and was torturing her, Alison nodded. "Mmm. A bit higher though." As he lifted her up to the right height she wrapped her legs around his waist, grinning at the look of dawning comprehension he gave her.

Sam blinked again as Alison wriggled against him. "I. Um. Oh. Right... " A faint giggle was his only answer, accompanied by a light kiss. He didn't put her down quite yet, though technically the demonstration was over, and instead he slid his arms under her rear end to keep her up in position. "So. Um. He wasn't talking about me, though, right? "

Alison blinked and then kissed his forehead reassuringly. "No sweetie, he wasn't." She tightened her legs around his waist slightly, enjoying the nearness. "I think it's probably something of a sore spot for him still, too. Just guessing at that, mind you." Running a hand idly through his hair, she smiled at him softly.

Sighing with relief he replied, "Okay. Good. Well, not good that he's uncomfortable with whatever-it-is, but yeah. Because that would'a been real weird."

"So very caring." She bit her lip, half smiling at him with a look of undisguised fondness in her eyes, and then rubbed noses with him gently.

"I do care," he said as he kissed the tip of her nose, then her chin, and finally her lips, long and slow. She kissed him back, letting him set the pace, pushing from the wall slightly as she arched against him.

He sucked in fervent breaths through his nose as his tongue explored her mouth, and pressed against her, pinning her against the wall. His hands roamed up and down her sides, over her hips and legs, eventually coming to rest at the small of her back. Holding her up with their pelvises rubbing together where her legs wrapped around him, Sam moaned quietly in the back of his throat.

Less surprised by the intensity of his reaction than she had been the previous day, Alison quickly lost any coherent thought as he touched her eagerly, pushing her against the wall. She pressed herself against him, whimpering at the sensations, teasingly darting her tongue in his mouth.

Getting braver at the taste of Alison's teasing tongue, Sam slid a hand up to her breasts, ghosting a trembling touch across them with hesitation, brushing his fingers up as he inhaled sharply against Alison's mouth.

She stopped breathing for a moment, a jolt of pleasure rushing through her. "Yes..." A low hum of approval resonated through her at his gesture and she pushed forward ever so slightly into his hand, crooning encouragement as she trailed kisses across his jaw line, tracing the back of his neck with one hand slowly.

Feeding off her encouragement and kisses, Sam increased contact, letting go with his other hand as well, so Alison had to hold herself up with her legs about his waist and back against the wall. Pressing his hands to her breasts, rubbing his fingers over her nipples through her shirt and gently kneading, trying hard not to be too clumsy, he tilted his head, shivery breath hitting Alison's cheek.

With a long, slow sigh of pleasure Alison tilted her head backwards, leaning it against the wall with her eyes closed and lips parted. She ground her hips against his with slow purposefulness as her nipples hardened at his touch. "Soooo good," she managed to breathe out softly, shifting against him slowly once more, lips curling into a lazy smile at his obvious reaction. She breathed in slowly, and tilted her head to press a gentle kiss against the side of his mouth.

Gulping as Alison bucked slowly against him, Sam dropped his hands, taking a deep breath. His eyes opened, focusing on the ground rather than Alison, and he started to take a step back. Remembering Alison propped against the wall, he moved closer as she slowed down, obviously ready to back off at his first sign of discomfort. "I...I can't, I mean. I'm sorry..." he whispered, barely audible.

"Shhh... s'okay, love." She unwound her legs from his waist and slid to the ground carefully, resting her forehead against his chest for a moment to try and regain some composure. After a moment she looked up, a concerned glint in her eyes as she reached to caress his cheek tenderly. Wanting to understand. "Too much... too fast?"

Sam nodded, running his hand through his hair and shrugging. "I just. I don't want to..." Sighing, he decided to spill the beans. It was obvious Alison really wanted to go further, and he didn't feel right getting the ball rolling and then wimping out, leaving her high and dry. "I'm just really scared, Al."

"Mmm," was the only thing she said, looking up at him thoughtfully. After a moment's consideration she reached for his hand with a calm smile, and tugged him gently along, heading for the couch. She sat down, patting the place beside her, indicating he sit by her.

Sam wore a pained expression as Alison pulled him along, and at her gesture he sat down heavily in the spot she patted on the couch. "I'm real sorry. I know... I know you're ready and it's gotta be horrible that I keep, I dunno, breaking it off like this, but..." He shrugged rather than finish his sentence, and put his head in his hands.

"Sam, you stop that right now," she shook her head at him, and wrapped an arm around his shoulders, leaning into his side. "Takes two to tango, y'know. You have to be just as ready for this too, else it just won't be anything good at all," she said firmly, leaning her chin on his shoulder.

"I know, so it's no good at all, and that ain't fair..." Turning his head to look at her, Sam frowned. "I dunno why...I wish I could explain it to you."

Shifting her weight slightly she leaned against him, cuddling for comfort more than anything else. "Don't you worry about fair or the like," she murmured, smiling faintly. "You're worth waiting for," she finally said, at a loss for any other way to express how she felt on the matter.

Sam rubbed her shoulder idly, thinking. "I ain't sure how long you're gonna have to wait, Al. I mean. I didn't want to be with you so I could... you know, have sex with you. A lotta times, people who're friends and then realize they're attracted to each other become a couple, right? But... I've always been attracted to you... and I wanted to be more than a friend because I fell in love with you. Not 'cause I wanted to... do anything. I'm just afraid that maybe you thought I did, or even that you did..."

So not ready. And so very, frighteningly, sweet. Nodding pensively at his words she turned around and leaned back in his lap with her head on his shoulder, looking up at him. Deciding to stick with the essentials, Alison shrugged slightly so as to not distract him too much.

"I just want to be with you, Sam. Things will happen as they're meant to, whatever that might be," she closed her eyes, re-opening them a few seconds later to smile up at him calmly.

"Well that's all that matters, I guess." He smiled at her, relishing in the casual contact. "That you want to be with me. That I want to be with you. And yeah. Things are they way they are for a reason and they'll end up the way they're supposed to." He kissed her forehead lightly, stroking her hair.

With a contented sigh Alison closed her eyes again, burying her face in the crook of his shoulder. I can live with that.
