Amanda is taking a break - and a toke - on the roof when Warren turns up.

Once upon a time, Amanda reflected, she and Marie-Ange had been teenagers, hiding up here on the roof with a bottle of purloined wine. Oh, how times had changed. Marie-Ange was no longer the pacifist straightest woman in the world, and Amanda was no longer the rebellious child-witch traversing the minefield of human relationships by barrelling straight through it, damage be buggered. Amanda snorted a laugh to herself as she took another drag on the joint she'd brought up to smoke away from the general traffic. Apparently she was getting philosophical in her old age.

Warren had been out for a puff and a fly, as he enjoyed to do after a very long day at the office. Actually, any day. Or hour. There was a thought here, but he was too high to finish it. Instead, he landed on the roof of the mansion, in his usual flying get up: no shirt, linen pants, barefoot. Flapping his wings a little, he sighed a bit in happiness, before realizing that someone else was there. "Do I know you? I think I know you. I've met you before. A.... something. Right?" He reached into his pocket and pulled out a joint. "I'll match if you want."

Amanda grinned. "Welcome to the party. But seriously, War, you need newer material. You used that the first time we met." Her tone was more amused than annoyed - either Warren had completely forgotten, which would be on par for him, or he was doing it on purpose for the laugh.

He waved a hand in the air. "Tomatoes, potatoes. What is time? It still remains I barely remember who you are, but that's because I don't remember people who don't provide anything to me. It's a narcissist thing. You understand." He lit his joint and inhaled deeply, rolling his shoulders back a bit to loosen them up. "Now that we have that out of the way, yes, obviously I know who you are. I just think I'm hilarious."

"Of course you are," Amanda replied, in a tone that clearly said she was pandering to him, before breaking into a laugh. "Ah, War. So just how much of the clueless thing is legit and how much is keeping people on their toes? 'Cause watching you on the journals is a hoot and a half."

He gave her a wink and a smile. "If I tell you, I'd have to kill you and that's a lot of work, even for someone as absurdly wealthy as me.....but you know, you're one of the first to straight up ask me that, so I thank you for it. I actually appreciate the frankness. So I will answer you." He took another inhale and slowly let it out. "I enjoy getting a rise out of people for no reason other than perpetual boredom. Affluenza, you know. I went to school on my own merits, you know. I am intelligent. I'd just rather not be." He tilted his head. "Does that answer your question?"

Amanda grinned and took another drag of her joint. "That's me, being all insightful and stuff. And yeah, that'll do me. Apparently winged playboys, like ogres, have layers. And if you tell anyone I quoted Shrek, they'll never believe you."

Warren gave her a surprised smile. "I know that reference! Jubilee made me watch those movies. They weren't half bad, actually. I personally wouldn't marry an ogre, so I'm very grateful Bobbi is hot and human. Still. I wonder how freaky that swamp time gets."

"I'm still wondering about the physics involved with a donkey knocking up a dragon, myself."
