Backdated to the Sunday before Sarah and Shinobi went back to Boston. Angelo isn't very pleased with Sarah for leaving. Sarah's just looking for a fight. Angelo and Sarah beat the hell out of each other. They enjoy it far too much.

Sarah pushed the door to the gym open, a half-filled water bottle and an extra shirt in her hands. With the way her mutation was acting today, she was going to need it after a good couple of hours training. And wasn't planning on coming out anytime soon.

Angelo was already there, laying into one of the punchbags in his regular routine. Hearing the door open, he twisted round to see who was there.

Ah, perfect . A moving target. Sarah smiled, throwing her stuff down into a corner of the room and sitting down to start her stretches. "I needed to get one more full day in at the gym here before we leave for Boston again."

Angelo nodded with a grin. "When're you headin' out?"

"Tuesday. Pretty's going to the party Monday, and then we're getting the hell out again." She pulled a bone from her shoulder, and gave it a few swings before giving it a good toss across the room. "Place is already starting to get on my nerves."

Angelo shrugged. "Must be nice to have another place to go", he observed with only the faintest edge to his voice, turning away from the punchbag to watch her.

Sarah shrugged. "I've got two. I can go home, or we can go to Boston if we feel like it. It's not a bad place." She stretched out over her legs, and looked back up at him. "Still doesn't mean I don't feel bad about it. Especially when it's something that makes people I genuinely like bitter."

Angelo shrugged. "Ah, 's no big deal really. Well, it is that you left, but... you know what I mean. Seems like a lot of people I like are takin' off lately."

"Yeah. I've gotten that talk too," She said dully, pulling another bone out, hard, and swiping it through the air.

"Amanda?" Angelo asked, unsurprised. "It's just a lot, all at once, y'know?"

"Yeah. And it's not fair, and I'm taking the fucking easy way out. I know." She twirled the bone in her hand, shaking out her wrists. "But I've got stuff to do, and he insists on coming with me, and nothing I can do will change that."

"So how's your stuff goin'?" Angelo asked pointedly, straightening, moving gradually into readiness for the coming fight.

"Nothing yet. But we're getting closer to when it happened. I'm hoping somebody'll brag."

Angelo nodded. "Good luck with that, then."

"Trust me. When I find out who did it, I'm not going to be the one who needs the luck." She stretched herself out one last time, and pushed herself slowly up on to her feet.

Angelo chuckled slightly. "Well, we'd better make sure you don't get out of practice, then." And he came at her without another word.

Sarah laughed and spun out of the way, hand reaching back for a bone from her shoulder and swinging it at him before he could recover from his charge. "Gonna have to try a little bit harder than that."

Angelo sidestepped the swing, stepping in under her reach and grabbing for her wrist before she came all the way out of the spin. "Oh, trust me, I will. Could be the last one for awhile, after all."

Sarah twisted her hand around, and gripped his arm, digging sharp fingers into his skin. But instead of waiting for him to struggle his way out, she quickly hooked her foot behind his ankles, and shoved him backwards.

Angelo rolled into the fall, not letting go of her wrist so as to carry her with him, letting the momentum send her flying past him as he sprang back to his feet.

She landed hard on the mat, grabbed a bone from her forearm and sent it at him, scrambling to her feet as soon as the knife-like object left her hands.

Angelo swatted it out of the air without sparing it more than the barest glance, stalking towards her without hesitation.

Sarah took a chance and dove at him, lashing out with both of her hands, and a bone ready at her hip for her next move.

Angelo, assessing the situation in a second, seized one of her wrists in one hand, and the bone at her hip with the other, tugging it out before she could.

She snarled, grabbing a bone from her shoulder with her free hand, and slashing at him with it. She pulled her wrist free, and grabbed a bone club from her thigh to swing hard at his stomach.

Angelo, still holding the bone from her hip, used it to parry the sharp bone while sidestepping the club as best he could, then swung it hard at the arm holding the bone knife.

Sarah threw herself into the hit, if only because it put her in a better position to swing the club-bone at him again. The jagged edge of his bone caught across her arm, but the hit she got on him was well worth a little spilt blood.

Angelo staggered momentarily, then regained his footing, keeping his distance while he caught his breath from the hit.

Sarah closed the space quickly, bone-knife held ready in case he recovered quicker than she thought he would. She swung the club in her good hand at his shoulder, hoping to get a few good hits in before he got a chance to come back.

Angelo, well-versed in throwing an opponent off-guard, had in fact never been as winded as he was pretending. As she swung, he snapped fully upright, throwing himself forward to knock her off her feet while swiping at her good arm with his bone knife.

"Fuck," she swore as she fell back again, the knife in her hand sent flying at him as she dropped. She scrambled up, hand probing the cut on what had been her uninjured arm. Right. First things first, get that fucking bone out of his hand.

Angelo had jumped clear of her as she fell, and was now standing at a little distance, watching her. The knife she'd thrown was now lying out of reach, since he'd knocked it off course to the side of the room.

She growled, stalking over to him despite instincts that warned her not to just go over to him bleeding and without a sharp weapon.

Angelo watched her come, grinning dangerously and not moving an inch. The knife was still in his hand, and he hefted it almost lazily, ready for her move.

And nearly without warning she went for his hand, bony fingers nearly claws wrapped around his wrist tightly while she pushed her bloody elbow at his chest with a good bit of force.

Angelo had been waiting for something of the kind, and was able to parry the brunt of the attack, making a shield of sorts to protect his chest - at least a little - with the skin of his hand, not especially caring if there were any jutting bones that might puncture it.

Luckily there were no jutting bones, just some armour to scrape him up a bit. She grabbed near the bottom of the blade and pulled it out of his hand, blood dripping down onto it and onto the floor as she switched hands and backed up so she could wipe her bleeding hand on her pants.

Angelo, that dangerous grin still on his face, let her take the knife, then started to almost stalk her, matching the pace of her backing up. "You have that, if you need it."

Sarah charged at him again, shoulder first and coming in from the side with the bloody bone now in her hand.

Angelo let her almost reach him before stepping aside to grab her in an armlock before she could check her rush.

She growled and struggled, kicking back into him, and going back at him with the bone knife.

Angelo braced himself against her kicks, trying to both avoid the knife and grab the wrist that held it with his free hand.

While his attention was focused on her knife hand, she pulled a club from her lower back, and took a hard swing at him, slashing at his hand as he jumped back and out of the way.

He didn't quite make it in time, and cursed as the bone sliced across his hand, then glanced back up at her with a glint in his eyes. "So, you evened the odds a bit. Think you can beat me now, with one hand hurt? How're yours healin'?"

"I've got a scar," she said with a pointedly bored tone, "for now." She swung at him with the bone club again, closing the space between them.

Angelo raised an eyebrow. "Want to see if I can make it last?" He stepped inside her swing, reaching nonchalantly for the club.

Sarah raised an eyebrow, and jabbed the bone at him. "Yeah, that's what they all promise," she smirked, "I still don't have any scars."

Angelo took advantage of the jab to yank it casually out of her hand - or at least to try. "Ah, but where's the fun in givin' up too easily?"

The bone slipped in her grip, so she stepped forward to knock it off track and out of his hand. The bone knife in her hand slashed at his shoulder. "You're welcome to try, more fun for me, but you won't do it."

Angelo let the bone go, having wanted more to get it out of her hand than to get it for himself. He spun into a kick, aiming to knock her knife away, and if he broke a bone or two in her hand doing it, that would just be a temporary bonus. "I'll take that as a challenge, then."

She backed up and out of the way, sending the bone knife in his direction, sharp end first. "Mmm.. is this round two? How long can you go, tough boy?"

Angelo grinned, snapping out a hand to let the bone bounce off his thick skin. "Why don't we just keep goin' an' find out? After all, who knows when I'll get another chance at this, with Logan gone, Pete always away, an' Nathan laid up?"

"I'll try to make it worth your while," she said, pulling another bone from her spine and swinging it at him. "I know you must be missing the medlab."

Angelo laughed, easily dodging the bone. "Oh, yeah, it makes my week to get stuck down there. Like it almost as much as you do."

"That mean you're ready to give up? Last I checked you -didn't- have a healing factor." She cracked her knuckles, the bone on her fingers making scraping noises as they moved.

He grinned sharply. "No healin' factor, just twelve years' worth of learnin' to fight the hard way. I think it's a fair balance. No, not givin' up yet."

"Well you got two years on me, but damned if I didn't train with guys a hell of a lot bigger than you, a hell of a lot tougher than you, and a hell of a lot less likely to be talking in the middle of a sparring match." Bones sprouted through at her shoulder and her hip as she moved towards him again.

Angelo chuckled. "Hey, you started it. Done talkin' now." He focused on the bone at her shoulder, then launched himself forward without warning.

In one fluid movement she pulled the bone from her hip, long and sharp, and thrust it at him, her bony fingers wrapping around his wrist. "You don't get to play with my bones."

Angelo's free hand had already closed on the bone at her shoulder, and when he pulled away to avoid the stab, it went with him. "Since when? Like I haven't been doin' it since we started."

"I didn't say I liked it," she growled, grabbing at him again, and slashing at him with her bone knife. "So. Hands off the bones tough boy."

"Didn't say you didn't either", he pointed out. "But, okay. Point taken." He almost danced out of the way of her hands and knife, one foot sliding out to trip her.

She ignored his foot, her bony ankle taking most of the brunt of his kick, and she only stumbled forward, bone in her hand coming dangerously close to slashing his chest.

As it was, it only tore his shirt and scratched the skin of his chest, at worst. Taking advantage of her stumble, lightning-fast, he lashed out again with his unbruised foot, sending her crashing to the mat.

It only took her a moment to recover, a bone from her shoulder pulled out and swung hard at his legs as she scrambled up to her feet.

Angelo jumped back, keeping his balance while trying to keep her off hers, lashing out with a hard kick aimed at her head.

She twisted her head, bone horns tilted towards his foot so that unless he could recover quickly, he'd get some nasty cuts on his foot. For once, they'd come in handy.

Angelo somehow managed to twist in mid-kick, trying and mostly succeeding to save his foot from her horns, while still landing a good blow to the side of her head.

She lashed out at his foot from the floor, hoping to pull him down before he could recover from his kick. Her ears were ringing, but she refused to let that stop her now.

Angelo tried to dodge, but didn't quite make it before Sarah's ankle snagged around his and brought him down. He lay still, trying to catch the breath he'd just lost.

She grinned almost ferally, bone in her hand snaked up to his abdomen. "Does this mean I win?" she asked, breathing haeavily.

Angelo laughed, still trying to breathe. "Yeah, I guess it does. This time. Just more incentive t'get me up to Boston sometime."

"Damn right it does." She put the bone down on the mat beside her, and managed to push herself up to sitting. "One of these days, you may just beat me." She added, grinning.

Angelo laughed, raising his head lazily. "Damn right I will", he shot back lightly.
